She was so welcoming, attentive, and always there whenever I needed anything. Alex was my massage therapist, and let me just say--she is EXCELLENT. Truly excellent, excellent, excellent! She has an incredible gift and deserves a bonus for how amazing she is. It was hands down one of the best massages I've had. I also treated myself to an organic facial with Cat, and she did such a wonderful job! She was so friendly, outgoing, and made the entire experience enjoyable. She has such a kind and genuine soul. Thank you all for such an amazing experience. I drove all the way from Temple because this mama desperately needed a break, and it was incredibly relaxing and absolutely worth the drive. I can't wait to come back!

This is an extremely…read morefamily-friendly resort, and from the moment we arrived, everyone we encountered was welcoming and helpful. The hotel grounds and our room were clean and well-maintained, and by the end of the trip, we were already talking about coming back. We only stayed three nights, but all of us wished we could have stayed longer. There is so much to do that it's difficult to fit everything into a short visit. The grounds are beautiful and well-kept, with plenty of space to explore and enjoy the outdoors. Our family especially enjoyed the playground, visiting the animals, riding the bicycles, and spending time at the pool. The nightly s'mores were a huge hit and created some great family memories. There are also extensive walking areas and a variety of activities available, including skeet and trap shooting, which add to the resort's unique appeal. The biggest disappointment of our stay was the food. While it was perfectly acceptable, it felt more comparable to chain restaurants like Applebee's or Chili's than to what you might expect at a luxury resort. Unfortunately, the prices were significantly higher. Given the resort's remote location, dining alternatives require leaving the property, which means many guests end up paying the premium prices out of convenience. On the other hand, the hotel bar was excellent. The craft cocktails were well-made, and the local craft beer selection was impressive. The drinks were expensive, but the quality justified the price more than the restaurant food did. Overall, this is a beautiful resort with excellent amenities, friendly staff, and countless activities for families. It is also one of the most expensive resorts in Texas, so it's worth budgeting accordingly. Despite our concerns about the food pricing, we absolutely loved our stay and hope to return again someday.

My favorite part was the DJ was also playing electric guitar to accompany some of the songs in his lineup. It was really cool. I've never seen a DJ do that before. The whole time we were there the service and ambience and tastes were top-notch, but the DJ piece really created a memorable experience that leaves me wanting to come back.

But it was more important to the Powder Room that the next group got their table on time, apparently. The drinks took soooo long, we got ONE round in, and were asked to leave the table before our second round arrived. They had no issues when taking our second round order while we were seated, but we were asked to leave the table immediately after. This round also took forever and we drank it standing, crowded, in everyone's way. I was embarrassed as it was my birthday, and I was taking a group of 7 other people - new to Austin - here to check out what was one of my favorite spots. I was bragging about it and chose it over other spots on their list. They hated it. I'm disappointed. Our server was great to us and apologetic about the service bar.

This is gonna be located on the fifth floor in the JW Marriott. You have to walk through the pool area as this is on the west side of the building. Well, we didn't have a reservation and we were able to get sat right away. I forget the name of the individual who assisted us by placing our order. I ended up getting the espresso martini, and then my other person got an old-fashioned. I was asked if I wanted a shot of Bailey's with the espresso martini and that to me would've been way too much. The martini itself was almost kind of smoky. Not your typical kind of very crisp espresso martini had a nice foam on top of it. We also ended up ordering the sliders to go along as we had dinner reservations, and that bacon jam on there is magnificent. The sliders were all juicy and very well put together bun was very soft and the flavor of everything was really good. I would totally go back just for the sliders. Overall the service was great. The views were also quite stunning of downtown and the ambience overall which is very chill. The front part of the bar was actually closed due to a private event so I can imagine getting to take photos on that corner would be really pretty to see.

The couches were so comfortable and the ambiance was so pretty. In terms of the drinks and food, it was okay! Got the job done, but nothing to rave about. I enjoyed the sliders the most. I enjoyed my drink as well (5th Floor Cooldown) once we added the extra sweetener we requested. Without it, I wasn't a huge fan (wasn't sweet, despite being told that it was). Valet parking is only $15 (for 2 hours) with validation. I appreciated that, as it made parking not a headache.

Fat Cat is a…read morefriendly, family-run place with a casual atmosphere, live music on weekends, and a one-page menu with apps, salads, sandwiches, burgers and a few entrees like ahi tuna steaks, along with a beer and wine selection. All that's great. But what makes it so uncommon are the amazing things they add to this formula that simply knocked our socks off. The salads are farm to table. The pork and beef are ranch to table (which makes their pork belly bhan mi and blue cheese bacon burgers absolutely outstanding). The proprietor owns the farm and ranch. Their beer selection has something for everyone and you can even buy it by the bucket. And without a doubt, they offer the best wine selection, the most wine-by-the-glass options, and the best prices on wine-by-the-bottle in the county. It's likely even better than anything you'll find in Travis County. Seriously, if you know wines, look at that wine menu and tell me I'm wrong. You can't do it! The three of us enjoyed a really nice Napa Vally Cabernet Sauvignon in the restaurant, and we got a $39 bottle of 2018 Pinot Noir from Sonoma's Russian River Valley to go that they would have been just as happy to open for us in the restaurant. Who does that at those prices? I'm seriously canceling my wine club membership and I'll just come here more often. Plus, the owner really knows her wines. She judges wine competitions in Houston and is more knowledgeable than many California sommeliers I've known (and I lived in California for 15 years). But she also knows old world wines and Texas wines very well. I'll post pictures of the food later. I'm coming back to Fat Cat for a pre fixe dinner - ribeye stake and snow crab with wine pairings included. The way they wine, dine, entertain and treat you, I feel like I'm the Fat Cat! And I can barely hear the music over the purring :-)
