I did my research in looking for a program that was not specifically AA based. There are really only a handful across the US. AToN stood out as they not only offered an AA approach to sobriety, but the SMART approach as well. I had never ventured into trying to get sober prior to going to AToN, but knew that I needed help fast! From the moment the gates opened into AToN I knew I was in the right place. I was met and welcomed with open arms. Instantly I felt at home. I knew without a doubt I would be taken care of and that I made the right choice for my recovery. While at AToN I learned so much about myself, the reasons I drank and how to fill my life with healthy alternatives for peace and happiness. My days were filled with group sessions, one on one sessions, yoga, acupuncture, massage, hypnotherapy and meditation. The staff was always there for me in every way. I learned so much about myself and my addiction. AToN gave me every possible tool and sound advise to ensure I remained sober once I left. The RA's who work at AToN are top notch! Loving, caring individuals who work so hard to navigate the vast personalities of the addicts who live the 30 days at AToN. They manage it with grace and love. The cook; I wish I could take home with me. The food was outstanding! All organic, well rounded meals. The owners are hands on and truly care about your recovery. They make you feel like you are family. I can't say enough good about the clinicians. Most all of them are recovering addicts themselves and wholeheartedly relate to what you are going through. First and foremost, Aviara involves my family in Papa's overall care; WE are part of Team Aviara! I was with Papa 24/7, and got to witness the sensitive care from Team Aviara (around the clock) that validated and accommodated his physical and mental challenges. The entire team at Aviara - from the front desk, to the fabulous nurses and nurse assistants, to the food service personnel, and all of the therapy professionals, among others - really care about my Papa; and listen closely to my family when we offer suggestions to accommodate and assist him. When Papa had a medical emergency last week, the Aviara Administrator and an entire team responded to him within 30 seconds, and did everything needed to assure that he would be okay. The facility is very lovely and clean, with beautiful outdoor spaces for their clients to enjoy. Team Aviara keeps re-arranging Papa's room to make it easier for him to call for assistance, watch TV, make phone calls, AND arrange for family visits that involve many of us. My family gives Aviara a 10+ rating. While I hate that Papa is not home, I know he is safe, sound, and well cared for at Aviara.

When I was picked up they sent a house manager to get me and he really started to ask question and seemed really sincere, when I arrived to the house I was greeted by some of my soon to be roommates and it was amazing how they all seemed to make sure I was good, alder if I needed food or go to the store? They pretty much made me feel very welcomed. Then I started doing the groups and learned a lot about myself! My one on ones with my therapist really made a big difference and I was able to get through a lot of trauma that was the underlying of root causes to some of my addictions. Since I graduated the program and starting to reintroduce myself to regular life. I have no cravings. If I think about using they come and are gone as fast as they came. I have to say that it was the development of the tools and all the classes and group settings. They really help me get through this and prepare me mentally to think of life in a different aspect and realize that I'm how much better person in sobriety than I ever was in my addiction and I'm grateful for everybody at Shoreline counselors therapist staff they all have made a big impact on the person that I am today and moving forward.
