Talk about hitting the jackpot as a wedding guest?! Scripps Seaside Forum is absolutely breathtaking. Mature palms, exquisite beach and sexy as hell modern building. The outdoor ceremony spot is perfection. I also love how it easily transitions inside for dinner. As a guest, I never once was unsure where to go. What a fabulous venue. The food was on point, staff was pleasant. We were dropped off via Uber, but the parking sitch looked sketch. Between it and the fact that a ton of obvious non-wedding goers were both taking photos and filming the wedding from the venue itself is why I gave it a four. (I totally understand a beach wedding will get attention like that... but these people weren't on the beach and were the first people the new mister and missus saw as they walked down the aisle.) The epitome of a picturesque spot for the wedding of your dreams. Your guests will thank you :)

My hubby and I got married here on November 20th 2016! This venue is VERY unique I think that is why this place gets booked out pretty much a year in advanced! So, if you are interested in this venue book now! I knew I wanted my wedding back home in beautiful San Diego and I wanted a ocean view which is surprising hard to find in San Diego for a good price. When i first inquired about this it was booked. I checked back a couple months later and found one opening and we booked it before we even saw it in person! Things to note - -Parking is hard to find and expensive! You get less then 20 spots if you do prepay for parking. I shuttled all my guests in from a near by hotel. -You can only use approved catering vendors that they give you -a wedding coordinator is required - your wedding can start anytime after 2PM but has to end by 10PM. You can add a additional hour if you want it to end at 11PM but it is VERY EXPENSIVE. - Giuseppe is the only company that can serve liquor at your wedding. We were able to provide all the alcohol but, Giuseppe still needs to serve it. Just to serve the drinks at our wedding was about $2,000 - you can book a additional room for kids as a play room which we did! We paid for a baby sitter who watched all the kids from 4:00PM - 10PM. - if you visit the venue it look small. ( trust me that was my first thought) but once everything was put together it looked amazing! Overall, we are very happy with our wedding at Scripps Seaside Forum.

Scripps Seaside Forum is one of my personal favorites. The venue's location is something most venues could only dream of. And with the right team of professionals by your side, this La Jolla location can transform into an incredible landscape of captured moments. Plus, attaining that perfect sunset shot on the San Diego coastine is not as easy as it looks, trust us. ;-) I recommend Scripps Seaside Forum, to any couple, newlywed-to-be, or visitor! Check out examples of some of the work I've done there with Prince Weddings! http://princeweddings.net *The above review is not a promotion of any business and is based solely on factual, personal experience. BEST wedding venue in San Diego! Matt & the entire staff are so incredibly helpful and kind. They accommodate each request and work well with each client to make sure everything goes well. Vendors can access the venue as early as 10am day of - amen! They even allowed us to store some wedding items the night before. The bathrooms & venue are always freshly cleaned and you truly cannot ask for better weather or view. I beg each bride I work with to get married here, they are never disappointed! Heck, I love just sitting on the lawn and watching the sunset. Go between 11am and 3pm, grab lunch at Caroline's upstairs - food created by the best Chef, Giuseppe and the best view in San Diego!

    Our Amazing Wedding

Scripps SSF is absolutely stunning in every single way. Our wedding was customized for a budget that was right for us and had a multi-million dollar view! Our guests were absolutely blown away! The venue has strict rules and regulations, but if you just follow along there are no problems. Thanks for an unforgettable experience Scripps Seaside Forum!

I don't think there's much to say except this place is AMAZING. Like, out of this world beautiful. I can't imagine a better place for our wedding! Even though it was the winter, this was a gorgeous venue with a gorgeous sunset, and everything was perfect. Didn't even need to really spend money decorating, as the venue was so gorgeous all on it's own. The staff was receptive enough, and their tour was informative. I only wish it was a little cheaper since it was a sunday in winter but they charged us the same price as a summer weekend, and that alumni (we both were UCSD alumni) would have gotten us a discount of some sorts lol.

Beautiful venue for lectures, weddings, or other receptions. Overlooking the ocean, listening to the waves crash, state of the art acoustics...what more could you ask for?

Attended a friend's wedding in this location. Pretty good setup, and easy to find. However, parking is difficult. I got there pretty early so I happened to find street parking, but I don't know where others parked. It's nice that the location overlooks the ocean, and there were surfers and paragliders in the background. However, it was June and San Diego was still cloudy, and it was actually fairly cold on a Friday afternoon. It was a fun wedding though and the food was pretty good.

Getting married at Scripps Seaside Forum was a dream! It was of course my first choice in wedding venues as I had been eyeing it for years. Being in the event planning/hospitality industry for over ten years I knew this was a unique venue to San Diego. There are very few venues in San Diego where you can have a private event on the beach with a panoramic view, without the distraction and interference of public beach guests surrounding your event. When it was time to look for a wedding venue, this was the first place I contacted. Friday, June 8th (my birthday) was the only date they had available a year out! When my then fiance saw the venue for the first time, he agreed that yes this was where we needed to have our wedding! I knew how incredible this venue was that I ended up getting married on my birthday, just because of how much I wanted to be at Scripps Seaside Forum! This venue gives you full access to their entire building including the grass area where we had our ceremony. We had our ceremony and reception both at Scripps Forum. Caroline's Cafe closes down for the event, but guests had access to the patio and were able to get a bird's eye view of the beach, going up to the second floor. We took photos on the second floor patio, which turned out amazing! The venue has large modern restrooms for guests and a built in green room/bridal ready room as an added convenience. The venue offers a parking attendant with vouchers to help local guests who drive in and park. The building in general had a very modern feel and open concept layout, which was exactly my style and wedding vision. Guests could flow in and out of the building with ease and still feel a part of the party, even outside on the lawn. With the pipe and drape added that covered the stadium seats of the lecture hall, it immediately transformed the room into a fantastic event space! It was honestly the perfect location to showcase San Diego and our out of town guests were blown away that a location like this existed! The event team, especially Donna was great to work with. Her prompt answers to my questions helped in the planning process and put me at ease! I was lucky to have her! The vendors they offer at the venue are all professional and will do a great job. The vendor list also has a good range in prices so you wont be stuck with a budget you did not want. We got very lucky with the weather that day and took advantage of the gorgeous sunset at the beach just below the venue, steps away. We took sunset pictures that were incredible and looked up as our guests took pictures and watched us in the sand. The view was breathtaking! I would recommend this venue to anyone looking to showcase San Diego and have a waterfront wedding venue! An amazing venue with a lot of flexibility to create the event of your dreams! Cheers!

We have done many family & friends weddings here. It is one of our favorite spots in the San Diego/La Jolla area.

I think it's great. But working with Carly was stiff. Communication broke down at times with her over email when collecting insurance for vendors and trying to schedule our rehearsal walk through with our coordinator. When we toured they mentioned that we could have someone play the piano with prior permission. We got said permission from Carly only to find out that said person needs to have day of insurance. The person we had in mind to play was our friend who is a musician but we didn't want to make them or us pay $120 just so he can play piano for 30 minutes. So that was annoying as we wished the insurance part was mentioned prior because it sounded like someone could casually play if we just notified her first. So we scrapped that. Given the historic status of the house I understand the rules but at times the way they were enforced or communicated felt unnecessary or cold given the event. They also don't recommend getting ready in the house because the outlets aren't reliable so FYI for your timeline there. Parking is also an issue so valet is required but that's just a La Jolla classic. In the contract it's stated that music is "monitored throughout the night" and if it exceeds certain decibels they'll shut it down... I found that interesting... and honestly stressful as a bride who spent thousands to rent this space and is happy to be respectful to rules but again the manner they're provided and enforced... If I had to do it over again would I have my wedding here? Not sure. Made for beautiful photos but I think the "fun" aspect of the day would've been easier enjoyed somewhere else because the entire time these rules are hovering over you...

The wedding and reception ran timely and smoothly. The buffet dinner offered a variety of options and everything was tasty! There were plenty of seats and tables to ensure every guest had a place to hang out before and after the formal dinner. Heat lamps and tabletop fire pits were set up throughout the venue in the evening. What I did notice was how great and attentive the staff were in every aspect - at the bar, passing hors d'oeuvres, buffet dinner, photobooth. I really appreciated a female staff member notice who wasn't drinking alcohol and provided apple cider so they can participate in toasts! A staff member was also stationed by the main entrance which I'd assume is to prevent party crashers and ensure guests aren't walking out with alcohol (they thought my water was alcohol). The only downside of this gorgeous venue is the parking situation. We parked in a paid parking garage at the Morgan Stanley building for $25. It is a 0.2 mile walk to the venue.

It's smelled like sea salt and something else that I can't recall. But that smell was wonderful throughout the entire duration of my visit. Initially, my friend and I were seated at a table that was pushed against a portion of the windows to the far right of the bar. Other people were being seated at other places, and we asked to be moved because that table was very small and the arrangement was just not what we thought it would be like. They kindly accepted and we moved towards the lounge area/dining room in which we had a table with ample space and we could see the perfect views of the ocean. Initially, I did not expect for all of the people to be down on the sand while we're in the restaurant, but if you go, you will see all walks of life in their bathing suits and putting stuff on the retaining wall. Nothing was necessarily bad, but nothing really stood out either. Also, if you see the restaurant from the beach, the exterior itself is surprisingly understated and doesn't really give the impression of a luxury dining destination. I'm giving it 4 stars mainly because of the gorgeous oceanfront location, sunset and overall experience. For the food alone, my expectations were definitely higher.
