I booked the rooms under the impression I would have access to pre-sale tickets for the event. Before the pre-sale started, I was emailed and told there were no tickets available. I even waited two months to see if something would change. Absolutely no communication occurred. As you can imagine, evebrusllu this made the entire trip pointless. When canceling I was told I have to pay an administrative fee. However, I asked why I would have to pay a fee when I am not able to attend the event through no fault of my own? Especially when this was all done through the official sponsors and their partners. Seems rather devious and makes me question the integrity of this organization, F1, the associated promoters and the hotel group. So far, Quintrooms has not been helpful in reclaiming a full refund. They only blame their partners and insist that everything is out of their control. I wouldn't ever book hotels if this corrupt organization is involved, go direct. And for hotels and event promoters, stay away from working with this organization. They seem to enjoy throwing their partners under the bus.

Luckily for me, the Hampton Suites returned my call, and even though they had no rooms available, they referred me to Neil at Austin Hospitality. Austin Hospitality started about a year ago, helping us regular joe schmos, wedding planners, event coordinators, etc; book hotels rooms for large groups and special events, at no charge to us. Having never done this before, I didn't know where to start. After quick conversation, he knew exactly what I was looking for and gave me tons of advice, then did all the leg work for me. I got to kick back, enjoy my weekend, then when I got back to work, Neil followed up with me with rates (which he negotiated for me) and contracts. Not only does he have tons of Austin hotel experience, he also knows about what is happening in this city, so he could really be an asset for someone that lives outside of Austin looking for help booking something here. He even gave me advice on where to go on the 4th of July. I'm kind of sad that I don't have any more rooms to book, because I really enjoyed working with him.

While visiting with the owner/operator of this new and upcoming business, Ms. Barlow (Shawna) offered an array tours that her company provides. Upon arrival in Austin, we were met at the airport by Shawna, the owner. As a frequent traveler, I can honestly say it was a treat to meet an owner who actually provides the service(s) of their own company! Shawna not only was our driver for the weekend, but also put together a few tours for our girls weekend. It was truly THE BEST OF AUSTIN! We had a fun day of vintage shopping. Friday night we started at Salt Lick BBQ, then did a fabulous Dive Bar Tour (such a blast!) Saturday afternoon was spent on another tour of more Iconic Austin locations. Saturday night we hit the SOCO District. Dinner at Guerro's, and partied with the locals at the famous Continental Club. I can't say enough about this small business and Shawna. We started with…read morea driving tour of Rome to get our bearings on the first day of our visit, and then had in-depth tours of the Coliseum, the Forum and the Vatican during our stay. The guides were very professional and friendly. On the driving tour, it was clear our guide had years of experience navigating the neighborhoods. He was thorough in giving us both history and up-to-date info about the areas, as well as tips about what else to see while in Rome. He also had great restaurant recommendations. As for our tours of key Roman sites like the Vatican, our guide was amazing. There is so much to take in ... so we benefitted very much from his knowledge of ancient Rome, art and church history. He shared many wonderful stories, was very patient in answering our questions, and was even thoughtful about our personal comfort, tailoring the tours to our interests and needs. Overall, I highly recommend a small group or private tour with this company - it's the only way to go if you really want to learn about the culture, history and art.

It's perfect if you don't have 25 people to fill up a larger party bus. They are really responsive and usually provide a quote within a few hours and they are flexible on the distance traveled, number off stops, pick up location, etc even if it shifts last minute... but keep in mind the price might vary :) I've found they definitely provide some of the best prices in town and have used them about 10 times for float trips and winery tours and he has even been kind to not overcharge a couple of times when we went over by 30 min. They are usually early to pick up and are in constant communication to confirm location, pick up and drop off times. I will continue to use them as my designated Austin transportation service!

I knew planning a destination wedding in Cancun would be an undertaking, but I had no idea how…read moredifficult and time consuming it would be just getting information from and negotiating with the resorts directly. When I was introduced to Lauré I was frustrated and overwhelmed. I had already decided on a resort I loved and signed a contract, but room block negotiations were making my head spin. Lauré quickly put my mind at ease - she knew exactly what she was doing. She took over the communications with the resort, helped us determine the appropriate size room block, and managed the room block throughout the process. Her insight was invaluable. I would have made so many missteps had it not been for her guidance - all the way down to how to word my invitations and website to get the best response from guests. Speaking of which, we were optimistically ball-parking around 80-90 guests and ended up with over 100, which I truly believe is a testament to how effectively Lauré communicated with everyone. Once guests sent an initial inquiry to Lauré, she followed up with them like clockwork and I heard from multiple friends how responsive she was and how straightforward and easy she made the booking process. Without a doubt, we would not have had anywhere near that headcount had we left it up to guests to book directly through the resort. I cannot emphasize enough how necessary Lauré's services are if you're planning a trip with a large group and would also like to maintain your sanity. Future brides especially, you will have plenty of things to worry about while planning your wedding, do not let this be one of them. We are so grateful to Lauré for all her hard work, diligence, and support. She was an absolute lifesaver!
