The cottages are definitely rustic (honestly I think using the word resort in the name is a bit of a stretch) but comfortable. The website descriptions are pretty accurate so i won't waste space on that. There 5 cottages, shared paddle boats, kayaks and canoes. There are frequently lots of families and the kids enjoy running between the beach and play ground. As I said the cottages are rustic but obvious recent improvements such as recently built fire pits for each cottage. Bring a fishing rod...honestly I have no idea what type of fish...but the kids had hours of fun every day fishing off the dock the beach area is good but other than that the lake is pretty weedya

The property is very well maintained and taken care of with no sign of disrepair or complacency, very nicely laid out as well. The cottages are appointed with everything to make your stay as comfortable as can be. Amenities such as fully appointed kitchen, indoor fireplace, bbq, comfortable beds and furniture, sat tv, and of course wifi (that worked perfect). All you need to bring is your clothes and food and you're good to go. The cabins have a nice size deck that faces the water with a fire pit just steps away. There is also a small onsite store and you can rent watercraft to get out on the lake as well. The owner seemed genuinely concerned at making our stay enjoyable yet was not intrusive in the slightest way, very considerate. I would not hesitate to recommend Fees Landing to my friends and family without a fear of disappointing anyone and will go back in the near future.

Family had a really great time here!…read more My daughter is 6 and wanted to try fishing after hearing about it at school. We didn't want to go far, with boat rentals, etc. This was perfect for us. The ponds are not deep, they get very shallow by the edges. You do need to cast quite far to get closer to where the fish are in the deeper waters. There are a bunch of pipes nearing the shallow waters, make sure you reel continuously over those areas, as a few times my daughter stopped and the hook got caught on the pipe. There are staff available to help you with your catch, to get the hook dislodged and fish dropped into your basket. They also clean and bag your fish on ice. Fish are priced by weight. A family ahead of us paid $94 for 4 fish, we paid $126 for 4 fish. Fish also tasted great. Their rules are stated on their website and on a board at the entryway. No dogs, no bbq, no catch and release. Respect these few rules and you'll have a great time.

Decided to come here…read moreagain with him except with my kids to have an enjoyable time fishing from ponds stocked full of rainbow trout. Most things are the same, some have changed. They no longer have the awesome "food shooting gun" or the "vacuum powered fish cleaning suction machine". The upper and lower ponds now both stock the same sized fish (upper pond used to be bigger fish). You can rent rods, there's a fee per fisher, and fish is $33/lb and you can't throw back what you catch. Expensive, but altogether reasonable because you're paying for an experience and not the fish itself. Staff are friendly and helpful, especially if you need help landing a fish. Went at opening 10am and they weren't busy. First hour we caught nothing, even with the provided worms and power bait. We then learned that technique matters! Tip - the rainbow trout are less interested in a non moving bait and bobber. They much prefer a slow reel and want to chase their food. Once we figured this out we were catching like crazy! One of my kids even caught a fish with a landing net! Super fun. Decided to keep 5 fish for a total of $180. Overall worth it for the fun experience w the kids. Down a star because it's expensive and not something we can afford to do frequently.

The forest is very peaceful to walk with lots of nice tree canopies. The terrain is mainly "paved" with either fine gravel or sand. The loop I was on was wide which made for a relaxing walk. In the walk there is a good size body of water with minnows. This area is a great place to stop and relax. The downside to this walk, there was quite a good amount of horse poop piles. Gross. Also beware of poison ivy. This will be a beautiful area for a fall walk once the leaves start changing.

Year-Round Getaway!!!…read more The Eldred KIng Woodlands is part of the York Region Forest Tract. Spanning from Hwy 48 to McCowan Rd. It is located just North of Hall Tract. Inside the Tract you will find many kilometres of trails, a pond and plenty of shade for the warmer weather. Great for many outdoor activities such as hiking, photography, dogwalking and horseback riding. It is vast enough that you will find some privacy but at the same time it is quickly becoming a very popular attraction. In the spring be careful as it can be muddy on some of the trails. In summer some days can bring the usual pests like mosquitos and ticks. Our favourite time to visit the Tract is in the fall when the leaves are changing yet still warm enough during the day. It's also a great place for nature photography. Many travel to the area for winter hiking and snowshoeing. Great for families, joggers, dog walkers and people of all ages.

We are provided a nice overnight stay in a private area with a transparent camping dome. Since it is still the outdoors and I am deathly paranoid of the inconvenience of getting big bites. I would recommend an orb of protection provided by a Thermacell. The villas here are primarily to support the main function of their operation which is wildlife rescue. The tour gives a heart warming story for each of their permanent residents. They are not a zoo but a rescue so they help animals get back to the wild and those that can't are made as enriched and comfortable for the rest of their natural lives. I would recommend to others to try since it supports a noble mission before we will miss being able to go to these places once 15-minute cities get put in place to trap us in our coffins.

In June the water is cold but your body will adapt quickly on a warm day. Power boats aren't allowed in the roped off swimming area. There are picnic tables and a general store that sells fast food and souvenirs. The bathrooms are fairly clean with flush toilets, sinks and mirrors. The park also has change rooms. They offer educational sessions for children at certain times. The only thing keeping me from giving this provincial park 5 stars is the reservation process. Once you reserve a day pass, you can't get a refund if the weather forecast changes to cold or rainy and you can't even move your reservation to another date. So your money is lost. But if you don't reserve in advance for a Saturday or Sunday in the summer, there's a chance they will be full. The website doesn't give a price for seniors. There is a discount but it's well hidden.

The…read morelocation is excellent, well tucked away in the country surrounded by farmland near Port Perry, Ontario, north of Whitby/ Oshawa and not far from Toronto. We had such a fun time with the apple picking! Then, after jumping a fence keeping us in the orchard, we headed points north down a beautiful tree lined country road to see what we could see. After that we headed back to the winery part of this farm and sampled some fruit wine as well as some conventional wines. Well worth the outing!

An awful place that has no concept of hygiene…read more My wife and I visit and are interested in the fruit wines on display and cheeses in the fridge. To our disgust there was mould, and not the blue cheese desirable type of mould inside many packages of cheese and in numerous spots in the fridge. But the real coup-de-grâce was the dead bug that was sealed in the block of cheese. That's right. It was sealed, by the packaging machine inside the plastic wrap. When we pointed this out to the member of staff there she informed us that that was common and was typical of the packaging machine they use. Having experienced such a disgusting disregard to cleanliness we dreaded to think what could or would be in the wines, so declined to taste any. We have vowed to never visit or purchase anything from Ocala ever.

I liked the ones through the marshes and areas with views of the water. Overall found the trails to be pretty easy to walk though, lots of boardwalks and the forest path is clear. Parking is $4 for the day, both online and pay meter at the front of the park available. Lots of parking areas located throughout the park, with the ones in the centre of the park within easy walking distance to each other. Nice area to walk for all ages! A mix of longer and shorter trails suitable for everyone. Lots of birds which were lovely.

Instead of continuing on the Marsh Boardwalk Trail we took Trillium Pass to cut across and go back to the parking lot. There's a lot of mushrooms along the trails which I found interesting.
