Better than some famous contenders. 10 oz Jumbo lump with very little filler. Beer battered fries were perfect as well. Everything is relative, three stars in DC is Four Stars in Cobb Island. The service was excellent. The gentleman was constant and aware. You could tell he wanted his guest to be comfortable. The view of the marina was cool especially for a local pub and the atmosphere was a kick back and relax. The food was a solid three. The cheese steak was hot and quick but lacked any real flavor. The Rockfish platter was ok but one of the fish fingers was a little circumspect. Fries were hot and prepared on order. The hush puppies obviously of a frozen variety. (3+4+5)/3=4. We tried this place for the first time and came by boat. It was busy and the bar tender was the only one taking orders and serving while tending bar. He was very friendly and felt bad for him. We were a part of four and unfortunately one of us never got their meal. The food was not great. For a seafood restaurant, I was not impressed with the shrimp po'boy. Came here once with my wife. They had a band playing inside which was much too loud for a small confined space. Everybody screaming at each other. And I practically had to yell in the server's ear to get my order in. She was the only one working the place. Being server, bartender and whatever else. Decided to hit a local joint while previewing water front homes on Cobb Island. Settled here. First, this is bar with a dining room and outside seating. We knew we wanted to sit outside, butt ordered our drinks at the bar since we weren't sure how it worked. The bartender was super nice and made good suggestions on our drinks. We settled on the crush. Hmmm. What flavor was that? It was one of the best drinks I've ever had. Felt like I should have been on an island. So we walked outside to enjoy the view and fresh air. The view is ok. Kind of sits behind a dock with a random array of boats. You can see the water. It was peaceful. A a Yelper who headed crab cakes, I decided we would try their crab cake sandwich. Not a fan. But, when i heard out was 10 dollars, I should not have began to imagine my new favorirte lump crab cake was about to appear. It did not. It wasn't even a good example of a Maryland crab cake. For the limited amount of crab, excessive breading and flavor with bell peppers, I would not recommend it. Wasn't awful, just, not what you are use to if you are from Maryland. on my scale, this is a 1 star crab cake. 4 star bar - The bar and setting was good enough for my return.
