My family and I eat at the Roddy Duck Seafood Restaurant fairly regularly . [[HIGHLIGHT]]We enjoy the food, the view and the service is AWESOME every time we are there.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Last night, we were there again for dinner. My son had fish tacos, my husband ordered one of their specials and I had a caprese flatbread appetizer. If you have never had duck fries, try them at this restaurant. The food was delicious and we all enjoyed our meal. And finally, kudos to all the servers. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant was full, and all the servers seemed to be on the ball, especially ours![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

The Ruddy Duck was great. We called in for a reservation earlier in the week, so had a table ready for us at the exact time we got there. The food was great, my wife got the crab cakes and I got the Baja fish tacos. The only negative was I ordered a beer, but it didn't get to the table until we were almost done eating; however, they didn't charge us for the beer, so that was good customer service there. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant is right on the water, with St. George Creek on the east side and the Potomac River on the west.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They share a parking lot with a small hotel, so the parking was tight, but there's street parking available too. They also share a dock with the hotel, though nothing was out there right now. Overall the place was great... good food, good service and amazing views.

First time visiting. [[HIGHLIGHT]]What a view! So nice to be here on a sunny day.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Delicious food and friendly staff. Pleasant experience all throughout.

Crab cake dinner but instead of fries and slaw, I chose mashed potatoes and veggies

I wanted to have dinner at a place with a view of the sunset and this did not disappoint. I arrived at a weird hour so the bar and restaurant were quite empty but that's okay because that means I had the chance to pick where I wanted to sit and there were many options from high tops to booths, tables and the bar - almost every table has a view of water!!! I ordered the special soup of the day to start off with and it was a great choice - the potato and leek soup warmed me up from head to toe. For my entree, I ordered the crab cake dinner and substituted masked potatoes and vegetables and it did not disappoint. I actually had to take one crab cake home to lunch the next day! Service was prompt and I was left to write in my journal alone which was prefect. This is a great location for solo dining, a romantic evening, or a celebratory dinner!! And that view!!!

Very beautiful venue situated on a spit of land between two bodies of water. Stunning views, and a spectacular sun set! Great signature cocktails. Fresh and fried seafood entrees. Duck-fat french fries. I ordered the fried shrimp (8) with fries and dill slaw. Also on the table was an order of hot pretzels, burger and fries, salads and duck fat fries. The fish tacos were delicious as well. Highly recommended!

    Sunset view from the bar

Highly recommend! Never disappoints. Delicious food, great tap beer selection, great bartender, and right now the best crab cake I've had in southern Maryland, but I do have a few more restaurants to check out. You'll be glad you went!

Part of the two restaurant mini chain of ruddy ducks, and definitely the best views of the pair. Water on both sides. Eating in the bar gives the best views. Bar has several high tops and 4-5 booths. Menu is upscale sports bar. Lacks the pizza oven of the Solomons location so leans more towards sea food. Service is good. Prices a little high but the food is good. Kitchen was a little slow during our visit hence only four stars.

    The ceiling is nice

Although I could have got some seafood, I was craving a cheeseburger. The cheeseburger was huge and so delicious!

The menu here had some vegetarian selections and an emphasis on local produce. The miso-fried cabbage over fragrant jasmine rice was a preparation I hadn't had quite this way before; most reminiscent of Chinese sauteed cabbage I've gotten a few times. The smell was a bit too on the bitter side, but the taste was savory. There wasn't a lot of protein here, so I added a chickpea salad with fresh-tasting dill that did hit the spot. A beverage based on rosemary syrup delivered a ringing flavor as well. The menu didn't quite match my preferences; I noted the tofu-based option I saw online was not available when I got there in person, but I appreciated enough that they had something worthwhile to offer. As a hotel guest, there was a small coupon in my room for the restaurant which oddly disappeared on me.

My husband had the crab cake sandwich and a side of the scratch corn. The crabcake was good, but the scratch corn was too greasy for our taste. Overall, the food was really good, and the water view is really nice. Great place for a meal! Side note: their cakes looked incredible, but we didn't try them this time. I would definitely consider going back for a slice of cake.
