Went in to get my car smogged about 10 days ago. The car failed. I understand that if it fails it fails. I appropriately did the repairs and went through the diagnostics to make sure my car would pass the next time I took it in. The technician doing the test promptly told me that my car would fail and tried to buy my car off of me. Seems extremely shady. Went someone where else and passed no problem. read more

SO GLAD I CAME HERE! Before coming here, I was having a hard time understanding why my car wouldn't pass the smog check at another smog center. I spent two weeks trying to get it to pass. The guy at this other smog center kept saying my car wasn't ready for smog, telling me to replace things on my car, and I eventually had a feeling that I was getting the run-around. I wanted to make confirm if this other guy was being honest. So, I called up SCV Smog to get a second consult and talked with ALEX--told him my situation and he offered to check out exactly why it wasn't passing. I came in the next day and Alex was transparent, extremely helpful, and professional. He told me that my car was essentially ready to pass the smog check! He explained exactly what was going on and that it was smart for me to come in. I ended up doing my smog check with him, which passed (of course). & it only took around 15 minutes. I am a regular customer of this business for many years. I have several automobiles, I am happy to bring my business here year after year. I have one criticism. I appreciate the 20% coupons that are sent to me ahead of my registration due notices. However, I wish they would print on the coupon that the discount doesn't apply to RVs. Sometimes they honor they honor this discount when I present the card and sometimes they do not. They should also update their pricing chart on the wall. It states the price for an RV is $89.75, but today I was charged $99.75. I think it is important to have price transparency to gain your customer's confidence. read more
