More recently, I got into a collision and I dented and scraped my rear passenger door and trim. The paint was scratched down to the metal and required a new paint job as well. Meet Citrus, the coolest car in town! See, Citrus used to be depressed. His original parents dressed him in an awful dark gray purple-ish color and then made it worse by putting two black racing stripes down the middle. Citrus was looking really drab, and was desperate for a makeover. So that's where SD Auto Style comes into the picture. I contacted four different vinyl wrap installers here in San Diego, looking for the best product at the best price that was within my financial range (and as a restaurant worker, we're not talking much here). After a bunch of chats with a bunch of business owners, I ended up choosing SD Auto Style.... and I'm glad I did! Mike and his team are fantastic. They are all really personable guys, and they know their stuff. I'm one of those people who asks a lot of questions, and everything was answered and then some. They don't sugarcoat anything, either. Mike can be blunt, and that's a good thing. He doesn't just tell you what you want to hear -- he tells you what's best for your car. That alone should sell you on this company. Citrus is a 2014 Mini Cooper S Convertible. Though small in size, he's a complicated mess with lots of little accents and components to work around. Picking this thing apart is no easy task (just ask the guy who installed my stereo!). I also had SD Auto Style wrap the inside door panels, which look absolutely phenomenal. We are talking about reallyyyyyyy custom work here. And they nailed it! As a self-proclaimed perfectionist, I fully approve. I mean, just look at my car. LOOK AT MY CAR!! A week later, I went back in for a full ceramic coating and an interior detail. So now I'm officially a repeat customer. But here's the best part of all: I took Citrus in for an after-market stereo installation only two weeks after the color wrap. Not knowing much about the place, I had no idea that they also do wraps and window tinting. When I pulled up for my appointment, four guys immediately surrounded Citrus and had a good chat about how good he looks. And then the owner said, "They did a great job on the wrap." That kind of validation from a direct competitor is HUGE. I already felt great about the job SD Auto Style did. After that shop owner's comment on it, I feel even better. Instead of trying to make it right, he proceeded to try to tell me I know nothing about tints and that most people don't get their back window tinted. He told me I never tinted a vehicle in my life and he has done thousands and when I tried to interject to agree with him he continued to try to talk over me about why I am wrong about leaving this review. DO NOT DO BUSINESS with these people if you value how a good business should conduct themselves! *Update X2* Obviously you can see by his comment in my review and my posted screenshots that I never once tried to curse at them or talked to them in any manner that could've been perceived as disrespectful. I never once requested a free windshield or anything of the sorts. He is trying to save face instead of just owning what I believed to be wrong. Your business obviously has cameras on the inside, if you could please post any sort of video of me using vulgar language and demanding free tint, please post it freely and show that you are right in this situation. It is very unfortunate that I am writing this review because I was excited to use there services because they obviously do great work based on their reviews. This is not about the quality of their work. I gave their shop a call to get my new car tinted and was quoted $399 for all of my windows. I ensured to ask them okay so that price includes all of my windows and was ensured that it does. I even asked how much for my front windshield because I was 100% sure I was going to come back to them to get that done soon thereafter. After taking the day off, and confirming my appointment with them before arriving, I get there and told that it does not include the back window and that would be an extra $200. I have never seen anyone only get their side glass window tinted and not their rear windshield. It seemingly felt like it was a blatant attempt to hide the true cost to get business in the door only to upcharge them in the hopes that most people wouldn't want to deal with the hassle of finding someone else or doing their due diligence. I'm sure the reply to this will be, well we still have some of the best prices in town. This is not about that. I would've gladly paid 600 if that is what I was quoted and agreed upon, but it was not. There was plenty of opportunities to state "just a heads up. This does not include the back window." I wish them nothing but the best in their business, as I'm sure they will be just fine. My hope is just that they become more transparent with their paying and prospective customers and instead of trying to downplay their customers concerns by what they do not feel is right they do what they feel like could've possibly been fair like own the misrepresentation and honor what they said or at least make an attempt to meet in the middle instead of sending them on their way and saying "good luck on finding a better price" after someone took time off of work to do business with them. read more

While this isn't the first time I've left a review for a business I didn't patronize for their products/service, the manner in which this business treated me while shopping around for their services was so pleasant, I felt the need to share my experience with SD Auto Style (SDAS). As soon as I submitted several inquiries for a chrome delete (blackout) of our SUV's satin chrome window trim, Hector, from SDAS contacted me shortly afterwards via Yelp's direct messaging and obtained additional information regarding my intended wrap job then proceeded to give me a prompt and reasonable job quote. Hector wasn't pushy, yet it "felt like" SDAS was willing to help me any way they could had I decided to get my vehicle chrome delete wrap performed there. In the end, we didn't proceed with SDAS, because we opted to do a "painted" chrome delete as opposed to doing a wrap chrome delete. SDAS followed up with me and understood my reasoning for painting my window trim, and told me to let them know if there's anything else SDAS could do to help me down the road. If I needed any vehicle wrap/PPF work in the future, I wouldn't hesitate to call Hector and SDAS to let them do the job. read more
