Update: It's been about 2 years since my initial impression of John. The relationship started out well, but more and more he became unresponsive and not detail oriented. We've received bills from other properties, emails with so many typos it's difficult to decipher, and had to make repeated requests for monthly reoccurring issues. When our renters had an issue with the kitchen faucet we had to request several times to have a plumber look at it before John agreed. We almost replaced our 1k faucet 100% under warranty for a $50 fix. For all of these reasons I would not recommend John's services. Old review: John is all about business. As a property manager he's been responsive to us and worked hard to secure a renter in just a couple of weeks. We were super happy that our unit was only vacant for 5 days, saving us a substantial amount of money. We believe John found us a good renter and they signed a lease for almost 2 years. John's management fees are also extremely reasonable. We would highly recommend John for your property management needs. read more

John has been great to me first as a renter and now as a property owner. When I was a renter at my last house the property manager tried to jerk us around on our move out and deposit. John was able to consult with me on what my rights were and what was the best way to handle the situation. We got out when we wanted and got our full deposit back. Now as an owner of a rental unit myself, John has been able to prove himself again. He is experienced, knowledgeable, and resourceful. The most surprised and confused relationships I ever had with property manager. In short: found house in San Diego; met with John; asked in details about house including if there is AC in it (John confirmed), agreed move-in date; John promised that house will be ready (clean and repaired) on the move-in date; signed lease, paid deposit; several days before move-in have called to John to make sure that house would be ready for move-in (John confirmed); moved-in, house wasn't cleaned nor repaired; after first 2 house being in house have discovered that is has no AC generator (though there is AC device and vents inside the house); John initially navigated me over the phone how to turn-on AC, but after hour called me back that according documents there is no AC in that house (?!?); during next days his handyman came to fix issues which should be fixed before our move-in; John proposed us a lease-free period until we search for a new house; in a week we found new house and happily moved out and break any further relationships with John; we payed to John, he "forgot" about lease-free proposition. As conclusion - total disaster with John and house owner, glad don't have business with him anymore. P.S. Frankly after my experience with John I can't understand all positive review about his "professionalism". read more

John was always very responsive and would get things taken care of when they needed it. He was professional and also kind.

We hired John after interviewing half a dozen property management companies whose rates were on average about 2.5-fold higher. We were worried about the "no free lunch" aspect of hiring someone who claimed to provide the same level of service for less than half as much, but his online reviews were excellent. We also picked a few online reviewers and asked John to put us in contact with them. All the stories lined up and we hired him. After a year of working together, I have to say he has exceeded our expectations in every way. He spent a lot of time interviewing tenants and hosting potential tenants at our house in an effort to get us the best possible tenants and the highest monthly rent in spite of the fact that his contract (unlike most of the aforementioned agencies) did not provide additional compensation for filling a vacant unit. (The selected tenants have been excellent, BTW). Routine maintenance issues have been handled in a diligent and cost-effective manner, and all we really do is collect a check every month. He's always pleasant and treats both us and the tenants with courtesy and respect. Five stars and no complaints. Those who are acquainted with me personally know that's rare language coming from me. read more
