Days after our checkout, well…read moreafter their cleaning crew had turned over the home and other parties had access to the property, the management team submitted a damage claim through Airbnb accusing us of damaging a lounge chair. When we asked for verification, they failed to provide a single photo showing the alleged damage and instead escalated it within Airbnb, no timestamped evidence indicating the condition before or after our reservation, and no receipts or repair estimates; even after asked. Expecting guests to pay for unseen, undocumented wear or damage reported days after departure is unacceptable business practice. Especially a tear in the cushion which they stated cost upwards of $400. If you stay at any of their properties, protect yourself: film an exhaustive, timestamped video of every piece of furniture the moment you check in and the minute you leave. This company has shown they will levy charges without basic proof or accountability.

Having never been to Mexico before it was wonderful to have Jonathan and Kristalle of CMV help us with this vacation. They helped us choose the perfect villa for our family and gave us tons of info before we left for Mexico. When we got there Kristalle was fantastic - always available to call / text if we needed anything. She even made us welcome margaritas that were ready and chilling in the fridge when we arrived - a very nice bonus after travelling with a 9 month old baby! We had a few minor issues with the property's management company but as soon as I let Kristalle know about it she made sure it was all smoothed over and we were left in peace to enjoy our holiday. She is very knowledgable of the area and is happy to organise any activities you may want to partake in. They honestly made our stay so much easier and more relaxing - I'd just send a text saying we'd like to paddle board and bam! They were delivered to our door the next day. I would highly recommend using CMV and would definitely use them again.

Luckily, our…read morecredit card company recognized suspicious activity with the incident as well (considering we have never needed to dispute a charge of this nature) and refused to reimburse Airbnb for the charge. We are still upset with how she handled the situation and requested that Airbnb ask her to file a police report to report a break-in that must have occurred after our check out (considering the cleaners don't appear to have arrived for several days after checkout - anything could have happened during that time). We considered filing the police report ourselves, but trusted that Airbnb/the host would handle it due to the severity of the alleged damage and her accusations. Needless to say, we would not have requested that a police report be filed (nor offered a sworn affidavit denying responsibility for the damage to Airbnb) if we were in fact responsible. It was not right for her to push the damage onto us instead of taking safety precautions for future guests in the event a break-in occurred. If nothing else, the property (which can be accessed by any Airbnb guest through a door code) would benefit greatly from a security system with cameras. The other alternative would be that she may have submitted photos to Airbnb that were taken prior to our visit there. Regardless, we were not responsible and will unfortunately never stay with this host, or Airbnb ever again. We left the place in the same condition we arrived to (clean) and our memory of it has been absolutely ruined due to this incident.

I traveled from Chicago and stayed in this house for two weeks with a few other people doing some…read morework, some play in Austin. It was a great experience. The house is almost brand new. It has a well maintained and clean pool, clean bathrooms, modern kitchen, comfortable beds, plenty of supplies on hand that you often do not think of bringing (laundry detergent, soap, shampoo, towels, etc...), and Laura, the property manager was absolutely amazing. She gave us all the privacy we wanted but was available 24/7 via text to answer questions or help us out. This house is clearly customized for people who want to rent it for a weekend or in our case, a couple weeks. There are lots of restaurants and bars within about a half mile or mile walk on rainy street, and it's a quick drive to downtown. It was all I expected and then some.
