I held out hope this company would take responsibility and treat their repeated failures as one‑off mistakes. They were the original installers (the Paso Branch that is now closed) and were hired (the Redlands, CA branch) to replace our batteries. Site survey completed June 2025, plans approved November, permit held for four months--and still no installation. After I repeatedly chased them, they scheduled an install for 2/10/26, then canceled four days before due to missing parts. What followed: ignored calls, unanswered emails, empty apologies from management, and promises of "personal follow‑up" that never happened. Ultimately, they blamed the lease holder and walked away citing their contract for repair had been pulled. (no kidding after 10 months of having it in your lap without ANY end in sight). Sea Bright Solar was sent out to troubleshoot an initial installation issue on our new system. Sea Bright was not the installer. Office communication was great- thanks Mari! Nico and Julio arrived on time and were prepared. Within a short period they discovered that the Current Transformer connection clamps were not applied properly. With quick adjustment of the two clamps, the team then validated the system readings. Our system APP is now accurately reflecting and recording solar production, amounts sent to the grid, pulled from the grid, stored and used by our batteries and power used by our home. Where should I start: This company installed a system on my home, from the beginning there was issues, reaching their customer service is impossible and when you do manage to get someone on the phone they're condescending and rude. A couple months after the installation I started noticing the system shutting down in the middle of the day, complete power degradation down to zero Numerous calls and emails only to be met with rude comments. One day after a rain I heard popping sounds coming from my roof, upon inspection I found a wire that was not isolated/caped off that was sparking electricity, after three weeks of calling they came out and put black tape I. The exposed wire, the system already started operating bellow specified parameters, I spent an entire YEAR trying to get them to come back out to do a system check, Forward a year and I get a true up electrical bill for close to $1000 dollars, these crooks only came out after I threatened with a lawsuit. When they finally did come out they found a main electrical e leading from the solar controller to the electrical panel was not tight, the cable was heat stressed and the breaker damaged. So after two years of asking for tech support, two years of electricity credits $6600 were used, then they tried to say it wasn't their fault, tried every excuse in the book not to pay the contractual obligations, said they would only pay half, despite the problem being all their fault. DO NOT HIRE THESE CROOKS, THEYLL GLADLY TAKE YOUR PAYMENTS BUT WILL NOT MEET ITS CONTRACT. STAY AWAY! They should lose their license! read more

It has been almost a year since I signed up for a new system install (September 2022). They have not been able to complete the permitting process, or provide an install date, an ETA, or even assign me a project manager that is willing/able to return calls or make more than a quarterly attempt to keep me in the loop (out of the 5 I have had assigned to our project so far). I was told in January of 2023 that the permits were submitted to and being reviewed by my local municipality. On July 13th 2023 I was told that the permits were submitted to and being reviewed by my local municipality. Today I received an eSign document from Sunpower asking me to sign a termination agreement, which I did not request, nor can anyone at Seabright explain why I received it. If they are cancelling the contract after keeping us hanging for almost 1 year, the loss of NEM 2.0 grandfathering is going to cost us a significant amount of money, if solar is even a viable choice at that point. I am still in shock at how completely nonexistent the customer service is with this company, given the amount of money involved. read more

Note: This review would have been 5 Stars had it not been for industry-wide resource contention. My project coincided with unprecedented industry expansion. Providers were moving from Net Metering 2 to Net Metering 3 at the onset of my project. This caused a rush for customers to install by April of 2023. Very thorough requirements analysis and design. Designer was accessible and willing to engage on follow-up questions. Project management team made significant changes which greatly improved the implementation process. Solar installation team did an excellent job with development, as did the electrical and battery engineers. All post-implementation support issues have been resolved. Off-shore level-1 support team appears challenged with resolving certain issues but immediately forwards those issues to appropriate subject matter experts. read more

I don't remember the last time I worked with a company where the employees were so in touch with their customers that they were able to weave their thoughts and action into total customer satisfaction. From the sales people, schedulers, clerks, installers, and managers, everyone was available and easy to talk to and they all had three thing in mind, making sure that my installation was on track, as planned, and most importantly, that I was satisfied. Now that my installation is complete and producing energy, I am very happy and proud to be part of the Sea Bright Solar family and I know that I made an excellent decision giving them my business and hope to be with them for many years to come. I called Sun power to look into my sys as it's not communicating properly and it shows that It needs to be serviced. I found out that they are claiming bankruptcy and cannot do anything about it. They referred me to sea bright as third party to do repairs. I called on 8/12/24 for service request. And was told someone would reach out to me and nothing. I called back a week later 8/19/24 and spoke to Aliya and she said she'll call me back to let me know and nothing. I called back the next day 8/20/24 and she said I was still on the list and there was 5 to 6 customers ahead of me and to call back Friday if I didn't hear anything. The company was quick to set up an appt and come out to the house for our consultation. I had some concerns regarding the permitting of the batteries on the house. The company wanted to put the batteries on the side of the house that has bedrooms and bathrooms. I've heard from countless people never to do that and the consultant said they would put the batteries on the other side of the house where the garage was. Upon installation, they in fact did not put the batteries on the side of the house with the garage. The company said it was fine to put the batteries where they did and that it's where the permit was approved for. Well, during the final inspection, the company failed. They failed because the batteries were too close to the bathroom window. The men on site at my home said that the company would reach out to us and reschedule them to come out and fix the batteries. This was in the beginning of July. We have called and reached out to the company many times to have them come out and finish what they started so that we can use our solar and not once have we received a phone call or email. This has been the most unprofessional experience. As of today, we have emailed "service" again. If we don't receive a call by the end of next week, action will be taken against this company. Going 4+ weeks with no communication with customers regarding your companies screw up is not okay nor professional. read more

Sea Bright Solar is horrible. My project started March 2024 and the last 4th inspection was in September 2024 for installation. Battery could not be commissioned and they left the system not working. Everytime a different person was sent, they did not know what they were doing, would call the office and was told to just do this or that even if it was not up to code and they would change it later to pass or vice-versa. Now a year later, Sunstrong sent another company out to finally get my system to work and found so many errors. The worst was the live wire left in my SCE panel which thank goodness the tech had proper tools otherwise he would be dead. CT's were inverted, a shut off handle was installed wrong (off was on and on was off), a microinverter was bad, a rusted circuit breaker was used and had to be changed out, and a component on the battery was missing. This company should be shut down. Scary if other jobs were done the same: shady, low quality work and dangerous installation. I am glad I did not allow them to enter my property when last sent and waited for this other company who were professionals and knew how to get things done right. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY, I fear you risk your home's safety. If I could give it no stars I would. Oh and they will blame whatever employee they fired and try to get around mistakes by saying that person no longer works with us when in fact the fault lies with their General manager-Darrel Miramontes and Manager-Mike Jimenez. I have had the worst experience ever with this company. It all started when I decided I wanted to add more panels to my existing 5 panel system. I met with the sales guy all was great and I wanted to stay with SunPower so based on a recommendation I went with this company. I got my system installed in January of 2022 and that's when things went south. They installed my new system in December of 2021. First the installer took my old monitoring box leaving my five panels offline and them scrambling to try and find another box to bring my old system back online. At the recommendation of SunPower I ask to see panel visibility. Sea Bright staff Helene says no, because they don't want both systems showing production because it's innacurate so I'm left unable to see panel production. Then in February of 2022 they finally brought my old system back by installing a box and all was well. Or so I thought. Fast forward to December of 2022 when I get a hefty $1,600 bill from Edison. I get in touch with Sunpower and they tell me to call the installer, SeaBright. I call the Redlands office and they promise to get back to me and nothing. Then I call the sales guy and he gets me in touch with Gina who promises me to call me back that week. No call. I call her twice, she's always busy. They end up sending someone out to check my system to find that half of my panels were not working due to a loose connection since Feb 2021. I keep calling and I'm told to send Bill the bills. He never responds, I keep calling Gina but she is busy, in meetings or away for the day or so I'm being told. After two or three calls I finally end up getting transferred to Terry, he says email me the bills. I send them over. He claims Bill will get back to me, nothing. I follow up three times with Terry, nothing. I start calling, texting the sales guy and all I get is promises but no resolution. It's mid March. I am out $1600 plus all the credits I lost in producing electricity for a whole year. No one gets back to me, all I get is we will resolve this this week for 10 weeks and counting. I have opened a claim with SunPower but they are telling me it's installer error therfore installer responsibility. I'm at my wits end. Oh and finally someone allowed me to see panel production after they reconnected the panels. In February alone I'm already up almost $200 in credits. My solar panels were purchased and installed in October 2020, and we have been happy with them. Sadly though, we currently have a roof leak and discovered our roof needs to be replaced. SunPower by Seabright never mentioned that our roof was on its last leg. Had we been advised of this we would have taken care of it before installing the panels. As a result of Sea Bright's negligence, I am incurring an additional $2800 to the cost of my roof replacement. I sincerely believe that if I had leased them if they would have been more diligent since the cost would have been their responsibility. To replace the roof our panels will need to be removed and reset upon completion. I called SeaBright 4 times to inquire about the process and cost to do so. I was never connected to anyone who could answer my question and no one has returned my calls. More than once I asked to speak to someone, but I was told that was not possible. God help you once they have your money. I purchased a system from Sea Bright Solar a few years ago. During the rains last March, I had a roof leak under the panels. It leaked into my bedroom, and damaged my ceiling. I called Sea Bright and told them about it. They told me their roofing crew was busy due to all of the other leaks that they created. After pestering them for a couple of weeks, they finally sent someone out. They confirmed that it was an issue with the panel installation, and "fixed" it. More on that later. I told them that my ceiling was damaged. They promised to have their "paint crew" call me. That call never came. I pestered them again and again. They said they were busy due to all of the other roof leaks that they created. They assured me that they'd get back to me. I continued to pester them for another month, then gave up. I paid to have it repainted. I'm still waiting for that call back. At 3:35 yesterday morning, I awoke to the sound of water dripping in my bedroom. Yes, the exact same place that they supposedly fixed 9 months ago. I'm afraid to think about how many calls and how much waiting it's going to be for them to try to fix it this time. With more rain on the way, I may need to just hire a roofer to fix it, then go after Sea Bright for reimbursement. One more thing: Looking at my monthly reports, it seemed that my system was producing less this year than last. It took several months of low production until I could confirm it. I called Sea Bright and told them what I had found. They got back to me and said that 25% of my panels were producing nothing. Why was it up to me to determine that I had a problem? How many other consumers out there would actually pay close enough attention to the monthly reports that they would even know that there was a problem? They came out and determined what the problem was. From there, it took about 2 months for them to actually fix the problem. Seabright was fine through the installation process, but their after-the-sale customer service is close to nonexistent. Beware. read more

Recently had solar installed by Sea Bright. The very beginning of the process was amazing. Wade spent hours explaining everything to me and answering all my questions. You can certainly get a cheaper system elsewhere, but if you want SunPower, with comparison to another master dealer in the area, Sea Bright was able to give a much better price. In terms of the Powerwall, I could not find a cheaper installer elsewhere, SunPower or not. The actual installation process went relatively well. There were some minor hiccups and communication issues between different parts of the team but everything was resolved to my satisfaction. The approval process through the county was a bit slow, but understandable, especially with COVID and government shutdown. Not Sea Bright Solar's fault in my opinion. They are super bad at returning calls and/or emails. My contract was signed in Oct 2022 and I am still waiting for PTO. THAT'S 8 MONTHS! (38 days since city approval of install was sent to SCE) Weeks would go by with no action and no updates from them. When I finally got through to someone then they would move my project forward, as though they had forgotten about me until I called. So frustrating. I have concerns going forward that if I ever need them for a service issue they will not respond to the request. On the plus side, the engineering and project design and plans were very good. They coordinated the work with the city and permit approval went well. The installation team did great work and I was very happy with them. Overall, the technical work went well but the office work needs major improvement. I second some of the other posts here that discuss the office personnel always being "at lunch" or otherwise unavailable. They always have an excuse for their issues but in my opinion, turnover is one of them. read more

System Info: 15.725 kVDC / 14.395 kVAC 37 each SunPower SPR-M425 with IQ7 Total timeline from initial contact with SunPower to PTO from So Cal Edison - 5 months. The long pole in the tent was County approval of the plans. They had zero comments or corrections when they finally did approve the plans, but it took 10 weeks. As far as Sun Power is concerned, after doing a lot of research and interviewing all the potential vendors, I chose them. I liked the whole package, from the warranty to the efficiency to the aesthetics of the final product. They were not the cheapest, but I was able to negotiate a few thousand dollar final price, which got me within range of the others. I paid cash. As far as Sea Bright Solar (the installer), they were terrific. I am in the business of managing projects, so little hiccups in scheduling are very noticable to me, but Sea Bright, overall, was excellent. Their Project Manager was on top of it and her team knew their business and did it. The field crews were really good, communicative and efficient. They did struggle with a bit of punchlist work, but I understand that and don't fault them. Overall, Sea Bright is highly recommended by me. They are straight up with you, tell you what they are going to do and do it. Their work is excellent. I have no complaints. If all goes well, I will see the results in one year that says my SunPower panels are doing what I was told they will do. read more

Our house came with Sunrun solar so when we wanted to expand our system, we started with the local installer, Sea Bright. We first explored our options about a year ago but found the salesperson very unresponsive and didn't move forward. A year later we still wanted to pursue battery and also to expand our system and decided, based on the positive reviews on Yelp, to give Sea Bright another chance. Again, we found them very unresponsive. Unlike last time, I actually got a quote, after several calls and emails, but the follow up has been almost zero. I asked for some changes in the plan and never got an updated estimate. Ultimately we decided to give our business to Sunrun through Costco. I gave Sea bright two stars because the product itself is decent and the cash pricing was competitive. We went with Sunrun because the salesperson is much more responsive, the financing pricing is MUCH better, and as Costco members, we get money back. If you can actually get a salesperson that responds, I am sure Sea Bright is good, but I got tired of having to chase them down. read more

This company is some sort of whole seller that has a difficult time with staff turn over. Many mistakes were made handling paperwork, filing the correct permits, and scheduling. These guys eventually started to hide from us completely. They refused to take my call for months...MONTHS! They always claim your project manager is out to lunch (10 am, 2 pm, doesn't matter). When the project was finally completed, they did not even have the courtesy to call us. We found out because our energy company emailed us. Do yourself a favor and go with literally anyone else. My Sun Power solar system (Installed May 2012) stopped working. Sea Bright Solar (SBS) responded in a timely manner. SBS sent Tim who showed up early! at 9AM and quickly diagnosed the problem. Tim immediately reported the issue to Sea Bright HQ. SBS then sent Nick, an electrician, who arrived about an hour later! Nick fixed the problem and the system functions normally. DIAGNOSIS & TREATMENT ALL ON THE SAME DAY!! Both Tim and Nick were very personable and highly professional. It was immediately clearly to me that they both knew the Solar business. SBS is lucky to have two such superior employees who represent SBS so well. For my part, I'll be recommending SBS to any and all who either need a new system (my son wants one) or repair of an existing system (eg Belle Mead Co-op). read more

I have had the unfortunate experience of doing business with Sunpower by Seabright Solar. The company promises great customer service and competent installation. Unfortunately that has not been my experience. The company sent out a site review inspector to ensure that the proper materials would be present when the installation occurred. Unfortunately the information collected by the site inspector was never relayed to the crew doing the installation so they were not able to complete the installation as scheduled. Several additional appointments were required so that the missing components, such as circuit breakers, could be installed. After all this the city inspected the installation and approved it. Yet our local electric service ( Southern Cal Edison) requires that a set of paperwork describing the proposed and installed system is submitted for "permission to operate" In our case after waiting almost a week to turn on our $36,000 system SCE rejected the paperwork submitted by Sunpower by Seabright because the proposed and installed system descriptions didn't match. In addition Seabright submitted the wrong paperwork based on the size of the system so that also would need to be resubmitted with the correct forms for the system size and wait presumably another week for SCE review before we could ever make use of the system installed on our home. This is after at least 4 separate trips to Our home and early morning appointments to meet the crews sent to do the work. We were also promised a $1,000 rebate on the system which was later described as a "$1,000 Visa gift card" which we never received. I made several attempts to contact Sunpower by Seabright on July 2nd and July 3rd to address my concerns but was told the company was shut down for the "4th of July celebrations " and no one is available to address my concerns." This company promises a professional installation and competent service unfortunately they don't deliver Another company called SunPower Précis I have heard does an excellent job. read more

The worst experience ever. We signed the solar contract on 4/30/22 and it is currently the end of December 2023 and this project HAS NOT BEEN COMPLETED. There have been delays every step of the way. Wade the sales guy quotes us 3-4 months to complete the project. He sold us on the company but unfortunately they did not deliver. The company has had a turnover of project managers. There is no accountability for getting the job done. They ignore our emails and phone calls and do not call back. The panels finally got installed in April 2023 a year after the contract was signed but failed the inspection. The problem was fixed and they were operational as of the end of August 2023. They were supposed to upgrade our electric panel and install a Tesla charger as part of the contract. They half did the electric panel and we can't get a hold of them again. We even filed a complaint with the California State Contractor's Board after which they started to respond but failed to respond again as soon as the state board closed the complaint. We are unable to get this project completed. We are submitting a new complaint to the State Board now and will file a lawsuit. read more

It was a difficult decision but today I'm glad I've made a wise decision! Dick Schuhmann was my consultant! Very knowledgeable and professional of his field, with clear understanding of his product and of the customer's expectations, with detailed presentations and demo of his products and with excellent and convincing warranty he has convinced me that having SunPower Solar system would be the best investment for me in term of performance, quality and cost savings for now and a long future ahead. The whole process was complex and time consuming which included the City, Edison and HOA approval, then come the solar panel installation and the AC panel upgrade, more the city inspections and Edison final approval then finally turn-key. During the whole time, Sea Bright team was always there to inform and work with me step by step along the way. Dirk my consultant gave me calls every so often. Kassy Macias, the project manager and her engineer group who were always there to answer any technical questions I may have.
