If I could leave 0 stars I would. This is the WORST place I have been to for a massage ever. The massage therapists are pleasant & do a good job but it is run TERRIBLY. I have never experienced such poor management in my life. It is nearly impossible to reach anyone by phone or email. I leave multiple messages & after about 5 voicemails I will receive a call back or they happen to answer. I was told by one of their reps when I finally reached someone to complain that they wouldn't have answered my call but had recognized my number as I had called complaining before. I have a complaint into the better business bureau of MA & they won't even return their calls. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. It has been MONTHS of arguing and trying to reach someone here to speak to. I was told multiple times after countless attempts the owner (Carol) would call me back & I have yet heard from them. Please keep in mind this has been going on since I started visiting them in Jan 2019 and has nothing to do with the lack of response time due to COVID-19. I received a monthly membership package for Christmas & little did I know it would be the gift from hell. Each appointment I tried to call & book took 2-3 weeks to arrange. I finally gave up trying to deal with them & canceled my membership & have been trying to get reimbursed & speak with someone surrounding it since June 2019. This was my first appointment with Sea Grass Therapies but I will be definitely returning. I had a Hot Stone massage which felt wonderful. Carol felt the tension that I held in my shoulders and my neck and recommended a targeted massage on job at on those areas. Can't wait until my next appointment. read more

This is my third time here. Have had two facials done. But this time went in for a massage. Did the 75 min detox massage. Before we got started I thought 75mins would be too long and I'll probably ask the masseuse to stop half way through. But at the end of 75mins when she said that the session was done my first thought was 'what! We just start 15mins ago'. Carol did a great job. I had some pain in upper back, neck and shoulders. She did such a good job. She used celluma for about 15mins. I did not feel like getting out of that bed after my massage. Not a massage...it was weird! Hot rocks? I wouldn't know. I didn't feel them. The rocks were on top of a blanket on my back. The massage? Cold oil was slathered on me. Then the person (not a masseuse) proceeded to draw circles on my arms, legs, and back followed by ineffective rubbing on said body part. I usually get my whole body massage in Tewksbury, and I pay full price. I saw Se Grass on Groupon and figured I'd give it a try. Bad move on my part...stay with what you know. This salon has a hidden gem, Alex. If you want any kind of facial, skin care, lashes etc. Alex does a fabulous job. They were ready for me when I arrived. Vanessa reviewed the information I gave them about my pain issues. She got additional information as needed and adjusted the pressure in places that were noted as being very painful. As I told her this was only my second massage, Vanessa walked me through everything in advance. This made the experience even more relaxing. I was so relaxed, I fell asleep during the hand and foot parrafin treatment. Josie gave me the first facial I've ever had in my life. She was sure to walk this newbie through everything. She identified problem areas for me and gave me recommendations on types of products I should be using. I appreciate that she gave me tips without trying to sell me anything. Made an appointment 3-4 weeks in advance for Saturday morning and showed up on time. The door was locked. I called the phone number and the lady asked which location I was at (??) and said she cancelled all appointments that day...well I was never informed of my appt being cancelled....so I was pretty pissed to say the least. I drove a half hour there on my day off looking forward to much deserved relaxation to only find out it wasn't going to happen. Gas wasted, time wasted, very disappointing. read more

Overall I was not pleased with my experiences at Sea Grass Therapies. But let me explain why I will start with the good: I left after my first massage feeling great! Relaxed, their rooms have an amazing atmosphere and I felt as though she knew what she was doing. Second visit was alright, I still felt good but the session almost felt rushed. Now onto what I was disappointed with: I have called them at least a dozen times...and gotten only a handful of calls back. I do realize they can't get to the phone when they're in an appointment. What I don't appreciate is not hearing back for weeks and having the feeling that I don't know what's going on with my appointment. I had planned to go to 3 massages as a gift from a friend, but it wasn't explained that these 3 massages had to be separate occasions with the same woman. So I originally planned to take my two cousins and all go at the same time. When I found out this was false I had to schedule another appointment just to fit in my cousins and I (that was the first visit). I only ended up attending 1 of my 3 gifted sessions and this is why... They have a location in Andover that I decided to try. There were 4 entrances to the building but only 1 was accessible and unlocked. So I was running a few minutes late to my session just trying to find their location. And then I get there and the door is locked. When I tried reaching out they didn't answer any of my 5 phone calls to their two offices. Frustrated I left a note at the locked office asking the owner to give me a call or shoot me an email to reschedule. Didn't hear back for about 2 weeks. When I did hear back it was to confirm my third appointment, even though she blew off my second one. I'm not quite sure how they've functioned like this for so long. I was highly disappointed with their professionalism and would not recommend this place if you want to feel respected and at least have the courtesy to get a call back. read more

This place is a mess, as far as I can tell. I booked massages for myself and my husband at the same time three weeks in advance. Both appointments were cancelled the morning of, for two different reasons. We each got a separate call. The owner asked me to call so we could work something out, but I didn't get a call back immediately because it was a lot of work to find a day when my husband and I were both free AND we could get a babysitter. Then, I started getting random emails from Sea Grass. Some canceling the cancelled appointment that had already passed, and then one that said I had ordered $200 dollars worth of services. I went to Sea Grass Therapies because I had bought a Groupon. When I got the deal, the office was located in Medford and very convenient to my home in Somerville. The new Methuen location is right off 93 north and isn't too bad to get to from the city. I think the drive is worth it, Carol is the first massage therapist I've been to who makes a massage actually seem therapeutic and not just for "relaxation" which is hugely important to me. Before the massage, Carol explained her techniques and she made a plan to treat my sore muscles in future appointments. read more

The location is convenient. Plenty of parking. The facilities are clean and comfortable. Mildred is very pleasant. He pressure is just right. And she'll really go after any knots she might find. Terrific massage from Carol. I really appreciated that she took the time to first ask what was going on with my body and what I wanted from the massage. I asked her to do a full-body massage but to focus on my back, which was sore from carrying my kid around all the time. She took that into account, and I was impressed by how the massage had the focus and the corrective action of a sports massage with the relaxation of a spa. If you've ever had one of those massages where the therapist is not present and just going through the motions, this is the opposite. Very valuable experience. Highly recommended. read more

The unique decorations in each room, naming and variety of services and specials available and a system that not only confirms your appointment immediately but emails you with updates, and a thank you when you are done sets them apart from any spa I've been to! I'm so happy that I had booked an appointment at Sea Grass that I'm already talking of bringing my parents here! They are very flexible when I was unable to come in Sunday due to a work call in, and the experience was professional and amazing. I had been in a car accident in January 2016, and since then even with a chiropractor and physical therapist my upper back had tension and knots that were painful to this day. Until I had my first appointment with kaisha. She has a very welcoming personality, I gave her a brief talk on my back situation and she adjusted the massage( initially deep tissue, but she used therapeutic techniques) to my back needs. I was so relax, I had fallen asleep to almost the whole 45 minutes! She also used oils that was soothing on my skin that helped a lot with my anxiety at first so I could relax my shoulders to help her do her work. It felt so good to be leaving with my shoulders and upper back with a lot of my original tension gone as well as some suggestions she had made for me to do at home. Also the lady at the front, I never got her name!, was helpful in letting me know how to go about my auto insurance claim so I wouldn't have to use up my insurance massage limit. I dealt with Carol. Nasty attitude. Worst customer service I've had anywhere. I had ultrasonic lipo treatments done there. Hurt my ears bad. I had a 10 pack of treatments from Groupon with 6 treatments or so left. She refused to offer me another service at full value with the credit that I had left. However, she did try pressuring me with an upsell and said that my only option was to use the credit for a more expensive service and pay the difference. After I already had a bad experience? Aweful! Waste of money. I felt ripped off. Never going back there again. She might have good reviews on here but you never really know someone until a difficult situation arises. read more

Carol, the owner, is really nice. The business is very new and clean inside, a very relaxing atmosphere!! I recommend Melissa for a very good Swedish massage.
