Candle making in Kennebunkport is fancy! Sea Love is modern sheik! Crisp whites, rope accents to tap into location identity and very modern shelving. It's upscale. I have done this candle making process before a year prior in Kansas City. Although Sea Love offered us aprons, high top tables, a personalized candle mixing expert and a nice view of the surrounding little city. The staff member at Sea Love was great! Super nice. Great with my pre-teen girls. Patient and appreciated their humor (even when I may not have.) She trusted them and let them jump in and do their thing. She also answered all my questions and I always have A LOT of questions! The whole process takes about 30-45 minutes. After that it's a few hours for pick up. We left and went for lunch and upon return our candles were ready for transport. The process: Pick your desired jar Choose different scents you like Hold the lids together to see if you think they pair well together *The following staff will walk you through: Mix Place the wick inside Pour Create your label Attach label Both girls walked away with a candle that was all their own and they had a nice time making them! Absolutely loved visiting Sea Love today! Three of us walked in today and participated in the on site activity to "pour our own candles." We did not have a reservation. First, you pick the container. There are three options, ranging in size and price. Second, you pick your scents. There are over 100 scents to choose from, and you can add up to three per candle. Personally, I chose a 50/50 blend of "spa day" and "white tea." The result was a light and clean smell for everyday. Third, you work with the store associate to place the wick, pour the wax, and mix the scent in. It takes about two hours to set, so you can shop or dine in the area while you wait, or visit another day (they will hold the candle for you for up to 2 weeks). I would highly recommend for birthdays, bachelorettes, bridal parties, or even just a weekend or rainy day activity. read more

How do we get a virtual Yelp event here? I absolutely love everything about this place. How I found them from all the way in Florida: I attended one of those virtual FB parties for makeup, won a raffle, and a Salt Air wax melt sample from Sea Love was part of my prize. It was love at first smell! I looked them up and saw it was a small family owned business (yay) that uses safe, clean ingredients (double yay and two high fives). I placed an order for three candles and a room spray. I ended up gifting two of the candles and my other is almost gone. I just made an order for three more candles, another of which I'm gifting. They make the perfect gift. I appreciate the candle scents fill the room in a lovely, but not overpowering, way. I appreciate the glass container can be cleaned out and reused. I appreciate the candles are hand poured. I love it all. I've purchased all candles, scent unsmelled and have yet to be disappointed. My top 3 are: 1) Salty Air (it lives up to its name and reminds me of the salty air smell of the beach. If you tend to like the clean linen scents, this one's for you but better). 2) Endless Weekend (a nice, light lemon scent) 3) Low Country (this one is hard to explain. It's very different. I didn't like it at first whiff, but then I found it very calming, relaxing, enjoyable. It reminds me of something, but I haven't figured out what yet). Did a candle making class which was so much fun! Got guided instruction by store owner Margaret on the different scents that were available to choose (which was quite numerous) and how to combine scents to see how they would work for your candle. They also had a sheet of possible scent combinations if you needed some inspiration. Margaret was also able to guide us when we gave her some inspiration of the scent direction we were looking for. Once we settled on our scents we picked the glassware to make the candle in before getting to work. It was fun combining the essential oils in whatever ratio we wanted and how the scents Seoul's change depending on how much of each oil we would use. Once we were dialed in on the fragrance we assembled the candles together with the wick, wax, and scents. Small labels were also provided to name our candle and do any sort of drawing for it. When we were finished we had to let the candles set for two+ hours which allowed us time to explore the town and try out one of the many tasty restaurants in town....make sure you factor this in when planning your visit. You can also leave the candles overnight and pick them up in the following days if you are staying overnight in the area. Thought the price we paid was fair for the candle we got to take home, plus the experience of making it. A super fun experience great for ages 9-99. read more

I recently went to Sea Love Candles in Kennebunkport after hearing great things from a friend that had gone. To celebrate my mom's birthday, a small group of us went to Sea Love to hand pour our own candles. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted by the owners, Stacy and Barry who would be helping us navigate through the candle making process. First off, the venue is incredibly intimate and cute. It has a modern shack-like feel with a small bar to do the handmade candles. The rest of the store is filled with remade candles, wick trimmers, etc. Outside of the store is a fireplace with Adirondack chairs to sit on. The whole interior and exterior is inviting and welcoming. Stacy and Barry were exceptionally nice and walked us through the process. We were able to choose from a variety of vessels, smell various scents that we could mix into our own unique scent, and they walked us through the pouring process. Stacy and Barry definitely added to the fun as they got to know all of our personalities. One person in our group was unsure of his scent, and Stacy was happy to help him navigate scent profiles. We let our candles sit for two hours while we explored Kennebunkport, and we came back to fully set candles that we had made. It was an incredibly fun experience, and definitely worth the $35 per person! They even have a candle club that you can be a part of that get's you two candles a month or quarterly for $40! Overall, this is definitely a business to check out. I will definitely be coming back. read more

There are handbags, bracelets, diffusers, candles and a lot more. The best part, there is a make your own candle bar!! I recommend asking for Kate or Delaney. They were very nice and very helpful and it would be a great place for a group outing or bachelorette party or something to do together as co-workers or just a group of couples.
