    bed with termite droppings

Place is clean and has full kitchen, nice bathroom and washer and dryer, even a dishwasher. my only complaints is the tv and the pull out bed, it could of been i couldnt figure it out but the tv wont go into full screen and looks like its stuck on the menu all the time and its very difficult to see the tv from the bed because it makes the screen even smaller than it is. And about the pull out bed, it is infested with termites (they do have a note saying that there are bugs and they're harmless) if you turn on the light inside the pull out bed, a swarm of termites will fly out and circle around the lights and every morning when i woke up there were termite droppings all over the bed. gross. other then that everything is good. they have nice gas bbqs out by the pool too

This was a very nice room at an excellent price.. Sea Mountain is in a very remote location, which makes it so quiet at night, compared to other resorts on the Big Island. That's probably why the place is so affordable. We stayed there on the way to Hawaii Volcanoes national Park. It's quite close to the park entrance. The unit was in outstanding condition, they looked rather dated on the exterior but in 2012 the inside of the building was renovated with new fixtures and appliances. We had the use of a free washer and dryer. Soap was available at front desk, for $2. The condo had a fully stocked kitchen. Puna'alu Bake Shop is nearby, so is Hana You, the most southern restaurant in the entire USA. The highlight of our one day here was the nearby Puna'alu Black Sand Beach, only 1/4 mile from our condo rental. We saw over a dozen Sea Turtles there (see picture). Unit had a great satellite TV system with a flat screen. It's also got a portable Air Conditioning unit, which we didn't have to use because the weather was cool and dry.

Service animal tag- note the dog is also the size of a squirrel

This property has a discriminatory approach toward verifying service animals, that we have experienced 3 times over a number of years. -its weird and annoying someone from Sea Mountain VI was watching our guest (who visited 3 hours) w/ his service dog- instead of knocking up politely to check the service dog in. They called the unit owner to make an inconvenience for everyone. -if this 'resort' wants to expand its footprint with discriminatory policies toward the disabled & in-firmed, they'll have more resistance to their future plans for development. *Its discriminatory to make an in-firmed person search out property management, at multiple locations with the animal -only to be ok'd by a young gurl on the phone with her mother at a private residence? * its intimidation of people with disabilities -when someone suggests they will be coming by your room to " check" The whole thing was stressful for my guest, rude, creepy and likely not legal. Ill also follow ip with airbnb. Each room has a Vacations International card that states service animals are allowed- With no exceptions. The actual unit owner was so nice, sweet, normal and im sure annoyed to be bothered by such a pervasive and creepy situation.

I booked my stay at Sea Mountain Vacation Internationale through the Armed Forces Vacation Club. I must say these condos are amazing. SMVI is about an hour and a half from both major airports in Kona and Hilo. From the moment you arrive you will be greeted by friendly and knowledgeable staff. They will tell you anything you need to know about the area. Each condo has everything you need to make your stay a comfortable one. They include a stove & oven, coffee maker, microwave, pot and pans, knives, and so much more. If you have time after landing in Hilo on either a Wednesday or Saturday stop by the farmers market and get some fresh fruit, vegetables, and bread! Staying here you will be a short drive from two small towns Pahala and Naalehu both of which offer groceries and other basic amenities. It's a good I idea to make note if the Ka'u Hospital in Pahala just in case of an emergency. The biggest grocery store Island Market is located in Naalehu which is 8 miles away towards Kona. The drive is very scenic offering many amazing views of the pacific and the slopes of Mauna Loa. Naalehu is also home to a small park, two restaurants, a gas station, and an amazing bakery. I highly recommend a trip to the black sand beach just a few hundred feet from the resort. Go early in the morning as the sun comes up to catch a glimpse of the giant sea turtles that sun bathe on the beach. Please don't touch these turtles as human bacteria can kill them. All this and more add up to a very enjoyable experience at Sea Mountain Vacation Internationale.

Nice place if you want to get away from the city life, check in is from 4-5pm, located near black sands beach. It gets a little hot at night but there is a portable AC in the bedroom. There is a little nice pool with a nice view. We had the 1 bedroom condo, full size kitchen with everything you need, even salt and pepper. Only downside is, you are in the middle of nowhere, no nearby restaurants or eatery, maybe in Naahelu, which is about a 10minute Drive. There is a little store in Pahala but nothing much. This place is about 27miles to Volcano National Park. So bring food to cook.

We had an amazing stay at the Outrigger in Kona and truly can't say enough good things about it…read more From the moment we arrived, Michael made us feel so welcome. He was incredibly kind, attentive, and got us set up with a helpful map of the resort and even assisted with scheduling our luau dinner. Every single staff member we encountered was just as friendly and welcoming. We upgraded to the Voyager 47 Club, and it was absolutely worth it. Breakfast each morning was amazing, and the evening service (4:30-6:30) included what were essentially full meals, along with unlimited drinks. It was such a great experience. Special shoutout to Zack, Tessa, and the rest of the team--they truly made us feel at home. The room itself was beautiful, with a great view, a comfortable bed, and a spacious shower--everything you'd want in a 5-star stay. Valet parking was also included with the club access, and the valet staff were consistently attentive and helpful. Honestly, we loved it so much that we considered canceling the rest of our trip just to stay longer in Kona. When we return, we will absolutely be staying here again.

Update: This morning…read more(morning after) I woke up to use the bathroom to then noticing a swarm of tiny ants all over the tub and bathroom, bathroom floors and bathroom sink! They did offer to change my room last night but I was unpacked and tired. I wish I would have. I don't think they brought bug spray last night. I think it was cleaning solution. Had it been bug spray, not sure I would have run into ants today. I kindly asked the front desk to change my room for the remainder of my time here. She then asks me to come down to get my key. I asked her to have someone bring it up as I was in my pajamas. I felt sick here a while back during another incident with a very rude barista who berated me in front of other patrons offer something I was just trying to get clarification on. Long story but I wasn't feeling well. They had water damage and mold. Well they gave me a new room right next to where the mold was. Be prepared because you can smell it. After the last incident I chose not to come here for a few months. Sometimes I have to because it's for work. I came last week and luckily had a good stay and we got our rooms quick. Checked in today and there was an earthquake so my coworker messaged me to see if I was ok. And then said she had to have her room changed because there were small roaches all over the couch and the walls which I and many other coworkers experienced on multiple occasions. I get that we are in the tropics but I don't experience this anywhere else I stay. I go to Costa Rica often, Cancun, and the other islands in Hawaii weekly. I get up to grab something from the fridge and see a swarm of ants on the counter underneath the TV! They are all over my food bag! I know better than to leave any food out over here. I even leave my banana peel in the fridge until I head out o throw it out. Two nice gentleman came and started spraying the room with a bottle of bug spray. They asked me if I'd like to change rooms but I was afraid I might get a roach room so I chose to stay. I proceeded to go inside my fridge and noticed a ton of ants all over my food INSIDE the fridge! I had to throw all of my food out! I think it's good to make everyone aware because these are stubborn ants and I'm sure you don't want them all over your things so just want everyone to be aware of the infestation issue here. Again I'm here for work and instead of resting I spent an hour and a half washing my bag, the sink area because I moved my bag there and ants were crawling all over the place, had to wash all my utensils and things I keep in my bag for traveling. I'm from California and we usually have an exterminator come regularly so I'm not sure what's going on here to where this is a continuous problem. They got an extra star because the staff was really nice and came up very quick. The front staff was also very nice and acknowledged us upon arrival unlike past times where we used to wait anywhere from 30 min to an hour and a half for a room. I've been at my job for 20yrs staying in hotels every week and this place is the only place I've ever had an issue to where I had to get the manager involved or report it to our company. I think that says a lot! Luckily this will most definitely be my last stay here. Great mango trees on the property that I will miss venturing out for but other than that, I'd stay elsewhere. Food made me sick 2x, drinks are not good, bartenders are not happy and if you read my last post, it just hasn't been what I'd expect coming to Hawaii expecting more Aloha.
