I wasn't sure at first if I was imagining things, but after reading one of the non-recommended reviews about the male owner inappropriately touching his partner, I think my feelings have been justified. Please also go read that review. My masseuse spent an awful long time on my butt (more than the average massage session would entail) and kept playing with my underwear. It had rolled down a little from the rubbing but I noticed he kept playing with it a little too much and was a little too eager to fix it. His crotch also conveniently kept knocking into my hand even when I kept trying to move my hand out of the way. I was really uncomfortable. But what really set off my alarms was how he somehow found a way to rub my sides to the point of rubbing my breasts explicitly. I've had a handful of massages and I've never once had my breasts touched like that. I didn't even know what to say, but I felt completely violated. Also, as others have pointed out, the place has no privacy. You can hear everything and the owners DO leave you in the middle of your massage to answer the phone, welcome guests etc and they don't make up for that time lost in your massage. The kitchen timer is jarring and weird. The massage tables are uncomfortable. There was barely any soothing music so it was just silence and skin slapping. Fantastic. Wanted to wait until I went 2x to give a fair review. I read all of the reviews for Sea Wave and surrounding Spas, definitely sold on Sea Wave! Very relaxing and quiet atmosphere. I recommend the Deep Tissue Massage (includes hot stones!) - very thorough and helped me SO much (laying on the beach and a foreign bed can wreak havoc on the body!) I often get Deep Tissue massages and few have left me THIS un-kinked. Sea Wave has a variety of massages and great prices (as well as a good range of prices for services). Plus it's a perk to be on Asbury - today on a rainy OCNJ day we shopped, had lunch and then ended with the massages. Aaaahhhhh! read more

Quite possibly one of the best massages I've ever experienced. Mind you, massages are one of the few splurges that I allow myself. Having said that, this is hands down one of the best massages I've ever had. Better than most high end hotels and beauty spas. Yes, it was better than the Four Seasons and the Ritz. Seriously. Granted, the experience is completely different than a beauty spa and totally stripped down. Think Mom and Pop local business without any bells and whistles. For example, there's no fancy rain shower or bougie robe. Regardless, the staff was incredibly nice and courteous. If you're looking for the "Spa Experience," then this place is not for you. If you're looking for a straight forward massage that will keep you relaxed and calm, however, then you MUST come here. Please do not go to this massage center. If you have to for some reason, please request a female. As other reviewers have noted, the male masseuse at this place is a pervert. I was a teenager when I went here for a massage after a minor car accident. As the other reviewer stated, he caressed my thighs in an appropriate manner, got alarmingly close to my genital region, and continuously knocked his crotch up against my hands, which were hanging from each side of the bed. When I tried to shift away from him, he continued to touch me inappropriately. I wish I had stopped the massage or, at the very least, complained afterwards, but I was young and scared. I'm writing this review because it has bothered me for a long time that this guy could still be getting away with this, and after reading the other reviews here, I see that he is. Let me start by saying that the two women at this place are amazing at what they do--I've had some of the best massages ever from them. However, sadly, I will never go here again. A few weeks ago, the guy who works here did my massage. Not only was it an awful massage, he also continually massaged my butt, the insides of my upper thighs very close to my genitals (even moving my legs further apart at several points), and attempted to pull my underwear down below my butt, which I objected to and said absolutely not when he attempted to do it. I was completely grossed out by the entire massage. This guy should be brought up on charges---he knows what's he's doing is wrong and he doesn't care. I can't warn you enough not to go here. First time,last time.. $15 for a 15 minute massage at the block party. After I gave the lady a 20, she walked back in and was shutting the door as I asked her where my change was. This spa is very clean and relaxing. I usually walk-in whenever I have a few minutes free to myself and am always greeted with a smile along with little to no wait. Massages are most certainly worth the price you pay and the services offered satisfy almost every need. I have visited at almost every time of the year and have always had the same great service and experience overall. I try to visit every year when we come to the beach. Very relaxing and everyone is super friendly. They have a wide variety of services - chair massage, foot massage, full Swedish massage, etc. I got an hour long back massage with oil. The massage therapist even used hot stones. Just so folks know, I'll mention here that this is not a spa. There are no dressing rooms or robes. But the price is very reasonable so that makes up for it. $65 for an hour massage and you can find $5 off coupons in neighboring businesses. And you still have privacy in the partitioned off rooms. I just wish they would come back to the boardwalk. If so I would visit every day. read more

My partner and I tried this place twice, and had mixed feelings the first time and a negative experience the second time. Things we liked: The deep tissue shoulder and back massage by the two women who work here (in our second visit my partner was massaged by the older gentleman and he basically manhandled her for an hour) Things we disliked: 1. No privacy-- it's essentially one big open room with little shower curtain/divider stalls. You can hear everything going on in the stall next to you, down to the awkward grunting. 2. Phone -- both times we tried this place, my massage therapist excused herself half way through to answer the phone. One time she answered in our "stall". The time she spent on the phone was not added back at the end. 3. Stingy and poor customer service -- they set a kitchen timer and when times up, timed up, regardless of how long they abandoned you for phone calls. What's worse? They coerce you into extending for a "face massage" without explaining cost. Additionally, both times we got ready to pay, they repeatedly reminded us to tip. This time, we tipped 10$ each ($20 total) despite the whole phone situation, and the woman suggested we didn't tip enough and should have done 20%. It was disgusting and rude. 4. The face massage-- never get this, it was a palm full of Vaseline being rubbed all over my eyes We really tried to set reasonable expectations for this place on our second visit but the way they treated us felt gross. I don't recommend this place, they're rude and you'll leave feeling taken advantage of, opposite of what you want in a massage. read more

What a relaxing place! Everyone is so nice here, experienced and professional. My favorites are the 40 minutes reflexology and the one hour full body massage, they really help relieve my total body stress. Also they are really good at fixing neck, shoulders and back problems so therapeutic. And you get serviced for every single minute you paid for, definitely don't lose any time, unlike some other spas I have been to (the charge starts the minute you walk in for the appointment, basically you need to pay for any talking and changing time ). You can walk-in or make a appointment, have private and couple rooms available. Best service for the price you can find in OC and family friendly. Always have a $20 daily special. Asked about "deep tissue" after we were rushed in, so no understanding of a significant upcharge and then told about the cash tipping. Really? Amazing massage place with very friendly staff. The massage was incredible and extremely relaxing. For work, I spend an extensive amount of time in front of my computer and also travel for work. As a result, my shoulders, neck and back are all very stiff. The massage really loosened all my knots and knew exactly where my trouble spots are. I love this place. I come here every year when I'm on vacation and I've never been disappointed. I've had the hour full body massage and also the 1/2 hour neck and upper back massage. David did the neck and upper back this time and it was awesome. I get tension headaches and he worked on my muscles pretty hard but it felt great. My niece, nephew's girlfriend and I went here for our annual family reunion massage together and had a wonderful, thorough full body massage, with rocks. I was glad to get us in the same day I called for three and highly recommend if you are from out of town and not familiar with places to go. Price point is $70 for a Swedish massage. I have had other massages at different places and this place had great service in offering great massages for all of us. Only a few suggestions would be to let client have a little transition time after their massage: One female masseuse came in quickly after my niece's massage and told her, "to get up because there were other clients waiting". I also didn't appreciate the male masseuse suggesting for me to give a 20 percent tip. I think that should be the customer's choice and that is why I deducted one star for both suggestions, but overall had a wonderful experience. read more
