Everything about this spa is excellent. The layout is spacious and elegant. The front desk staff was friendly and helpful as was Steve the Men's attendant. Everyone made you feel like a VIP for sure! I received an 80 minute deep tissue massage. Evan was an amazing masseur. Just what I needed! Keep in mind the amenities are available all day with in/out privileges. The men's locker-room has a steam room, a sauna, relaxation areas, water, tea and snacks, while the co ed area has a large hot tub a warm tub and an amazing shower. Everything is immaculate. We came here to celebrate my mom's birthday. We arrived an hour early prior to our facial appointments. The women's locker room attendant gave us a tour. They offered a locker to put our things in (with custom locks), robes, slippers & towels. We used the sauna & steam room. Both were very clean. There was a communal hot tube and small pool as well. Make sure to bring a bathing suit if you want to use any of the amenities. The attendant was so attentive, making sure everything stayed clean & answering any questions. They offered hot tea, water bottles, nut/berry mix and apples. When it was time for our facials we went upstairs to the lounge. The massage therapist came out to get us. I had Lynda for the signature rock spa facial and she was amazing, very relaxing. After the facial we used the showers. They offered shampoo, conditioner, body wash as well as hair dryers, hair gel & hair spray. As we were leaving, they gave us a glass of champagne. Overall the facility was very clean. Everything about the Hard Rock Spa & Salon is a pleasant surprise. I was gifted a Groupon for my birthday of ; Salt Chamber w/ Champagne, parking, slippers, lounge, pool, sauna, steam room . I added on a 1 hr Swedish mix massage that I paid for. You can only call up to make reservations and for my Groupon it's only a weekday. Which ends up more convenient because there was less people. I did it on a Monday in July and overall the facilities weren't crowded. The floor plan was very spacey, very very clean which is so important. We had a guide from the beginning who shows us to our lockers and gives us a tour of the facilities and reminds me over and over my locker number . Very friendly staff , helpful and the spa was easy to get around. They supplied waters and snacks everywhere ! Which was such a delightful small detail I cherish ! Those are the " little things " that stand out and I let people know why they should go somewhere over other places. The Salt room experience was 20 minutes and I asked for the lights to be out. It was quite peaceful and I would do it again. As soon as I came out I had a chance to lay in the lounge room overseeing the water. Next was my massage ‍ and that was truly wonderful . A beautiful aromatherapy was used and my massage therapist had been there over a decade I believe ? And she was magical !! Once I finished with that incredible relaxing experience I got into the jacuzzi bath waters area which was alright. There were two of them , not huge. Good for what they are there for. I also spent 30 minutes in the sauna and steam room which are fantastic , spacey , clean and someone nearby if you need help. Again , towels and waters outside the doors readily available .. amazing , right ?? Afterwards , I went to the sun deck outside of the indoor pool and spent about an hour there and it was crowded but very very peaceful . The pool on the other hand, which I have been to before during a stay at the Hard rock was out of control. Not the Spas fault whatsoever. But , there was no way an adult could get in and swim or enjoy it . So caution if that is something you may want to do .. look for a hotel with a pool with 18+ restrictions. I would go again to the Spa part in a heartbeat but if I was looking for the pool experience included may look elsewhere ! read more

I've always stayed at this hotel out of all the hotels in AC just because I enjoyed going to this spa, but unfortunately, I don't know if that will be the case moving forward. 1. My biggest issue is they now charge a 20% service charge on services. I wouldn't care if this was considered gratuity, but it isn't. They told me the service charge is just the base pay for the provider (aka their minimum wage) and the gratuity is for their quality of service. It seems crazy that the spa isn't paying them anything and their entire pay is on the costumer. Which must also be bad for the provider because I imagine a lot of people would refuse to pay both. Leaving them to make less money. 2. They even included a service charge of my service which was a massage done by a robot. They said I still paid a service charge because it went to the person who explained how to use the machine (this took 5mins, and it was self explanatory to anyone who can read). Btw the robot massage isn't worth it imo. It's more expensive than having a real person and less enjoyable. My back is still hurting from when my shirt lifted and it rubbed against my bare skin, which feels similar to a carpet burn. It was also too much pressure. This can be adjusted but the pressure is tolerable in different positions and it's annoying to have constantly change the settings to adjust. When I was done with my service and it was time for me to change back in to my original clothes, the women knocked on the door as she opened it. Why wouldn't she wait for me to respond first?! 3. The steam room has never worked in the years I have been coming to this spa. Surprisingly it did today. However, the sauna did not and due to the covered up construction of it, it looks like it won't be working for a while. 4. Lastly, my uncle had gotten a massage and said that the masseuse talked to him during the entire massage. This completely ruined the experience for him but he was too nice to say anything to her. This should be a common sense thing not to do. People want to relax while getting massages done, not have a full on conversation with someone. You can go to a bar for that. read more

Needs updating and maintenance! I received a Groupon as a gift that includes the Salt Chamber and all other spa amenities. A few minutes into the salt chamber treatment the machine stopped blowing out salt particles. I got out and walked around looking for someone and finally found a nice attendant that refilled the machine and restarted it. Part way through it happened again, after this my brother and I went to go get something to eat and came back to use the steam room. Upon getting back we noticed the steam room was not on and we brought it to the spas attention. After waiting over an hour we left due prior engagements, we spoke to the spa and they said unfortunately there is nothing they can do, they wouldn't extend a rain check for another day or offer any other service recovery. Booked a couples massage. On the phone they told me prior to the massage we can use the sauna, salt room and jacuzzi together. The day we arrived, at check in they tell us there is no salt room and the jacuzzi isn't working. Nobody bothered to call to even tell us that. They took us back to change into rubber slippers and dingy looking robes. We had almost 2 hours to kill until our massage. We had a mimosa and we asked for another where they told us we can go downstairs in our robes because they don't serve more than one. Let me start by saying that I take partial responsibility for the poor results of my makeup. I booked a special occasion makeup session for an event I was attending at the hotel. Figured it was convenient to get my makeup done on site. There were no reviews of the MUA but I figured it's a hard rock so it can't be bad. I arrived a few minutes late for my 4pm appointment partially due to the long line at check in for the hotel & getting lost trying to find the spa. I was directed quickly to my MUA which was great but it kinda went downhill from there. Riley (the MUA) asked what I was there for & if I had some inspo photos. I showed her what I had in mind & she got to work. First off thing I noticed is that she did not use any sort of prep on my skin. I've had professional makeup done in the past & in every instance they've started by cleansing my skin & applying moisturizer but this was not the case here. She matched up some foundation & later got to work on my eyes. When she showed me the "final result" I asked if she could add in a bit more color. She added some more shadow, cleaned up some spots and showed me again. By this time I was just annoyed & resolved to just let it be and try to fix it myself in my room. I left feeling displeased & like I'd wasted my money. I was unhappy with having to leave a tip (already included) that I didn't think she deserved. The ambiance & amenities at the spa are very nice . However- my husband and I both agree that they need to hire better trained masseuses. We bought an 80 minute couples massage for my birthday -and both of us were very disappointed with the massage and the sneaky 20% surcharge they tried charging us at the end of our visit . In no way we're these massages worth the $400 they were trying to charge us. Thankfully the manager on duty waived this exorbitant fee since it was not disclosed the day before when he booked our treatment. The hot tub and steam rooms are very nice as well as the lounge areas provided . But the massages we received were not relaxing or enjoyable in the least . I felt that that the masseuse I had was not listening to my preferences and the massage got to be painful at times . My husbands masseuse was sadly not any better than mine. I went in for the 80 minute hot stone massage. Stephanie was my therapist and she was awesome! She made sure I was comfortable, and checked in on the temperature of the stones and pressure of the massage. One of the best messages I have had!! The spa amenities are amazing (steam room, relaxing tub, hot tub, relaxation rooms) so be sure to get there early if you have a late treatment. Pressure is just right, not too hard not too soft. She could feel all of the spots that require attention, even without telling her what areas of the body needs to be focused. Wish the have a little food corner, with salads, sandwiches or smoothie. We were so hungry by the end of the day, but the only thing we got is apples and water/tea. The water in jacuzzy smells like a clorox a bit too much, however it gives the feeling that the stuff are serious about cleanliness. Tip: when you go on the second floor where is massage service. 3 minutes ago New I took two of my girlfriends to the Rock Spa in AC after having a great experience with my two daughters there last May. This experience was horrible and TOTALLY OPPOSITE of my last experience at Rock Spa. Only after changing into our robes, and looking forward to relaxing in the spa area prior to our services, we discovered that the ALL the spa pools, the rain showers in the pool area, and the lounging area by the pool WAS ALL CLOSED! The staff and management were totally indifferent and uninterested. They told us to wait in a small waiting area with lounge chairs that were all taken. No where to sit! We ended up having to leave the spa area in our robes to a juice bar area that was closed. Drinks and food were unavailable. I was so upset I went to the manager and again registered my dissatisfaction. She was still not very sensitive to our issue, but did say we could come back to use the amenities another day. This was impossible, my friends were from out of town and came in just for this! We did get 20% our services. We should have been told prior to changing, that the pool spas were not available to us. Even when I called the day before to confirm the spa area services (we wanted to come early just for that), I was told all was fine and we were confirmed. I am upset and embarrassed that my friends didn't experience the wonderful, relaxing time I told them we would have. It was so amazing that we made a pact to treat ourselves every 3 months. My mother said so many times, "They think of everything!" They were very accommodating with robes, slippers, lockers, water, tea, accessories in the shower/dressing area... it truly was so relaxing. My favorite aspects were the woman's area with the Sauna & the Steam Room. Then I thought it was so nice how there is a relaxing lounge area with comfortable chase lounges where you await being called back for your massage. & then the shower mist with the three settings in the co-Ed area was very cool. I planned a group reservation for my 40th Birthday at the Rock Spa. My 6 guests and I absolutely LOVED our services- which included massages, facials, and body treatments. The amenities were also beautiful & the Spa was welcoming and clean- That said- we WOULD maybe consider returning, pending the prices are broken down & transparent at reserving the appointment; we each paid a significant "Service charge" that was NEVER disclosed...... BUT- Aside from the sheer shock of the undisclosed service fees, this 2 star Review comes from the event planning/"VIP" experience, which was lackluster at best.... We paid $250 to have a private suite from 2-6pm, YET the first hour of our "experience" was spent wasted meandering in the public locker room, assigning lockers, Robes, trying to find fitting slides, etc (ALL of this should have been provided for us and waiting in our suite so that the hour could have been better utilized enjoying our space, sipping champagne & taking advantage of the other Spa amenities.) Instead, we had no time to enjoy anything before our services started at 3:00. And all of our belongings were in a totally different area from our Suite (which was HUGE and easily could have accommodated all of us AND our luggage!) It was disjointed, stressful & truly made no sense whatsoever. After our services, we were rushed to use our room, and many of us ended up quickly showering in the general public showers (there was one in our room, but 6 of us) & we had NO key to our suite- so anytime one of us needed access, more time was wasted finding someone to unlock and let us in. The Sauna was useless at it was close to closing time and the staff had turned it off. We never got to eat our cheese board, and we were told we needed to vacate the room immediately at 6:00 so that they could clean the space. I just felt like there was a lot of wasted time due to disorganization within the planning of our VIP experience. The value was NOT worth it whatsoever, especially after incurring all the additional charges. We left feeling as if we were scammed, and sadly will not return. read more

I'm so glad I had the pleasure of visiting the Rock Spa & Salon this Labor Day weekend! I scheduled an appointment for a wash and blow out same-day and was in the chair within an hour. My hair stylist Kenia was absolutely amazing, she is truly an experienced hair master(and barber)! She took her time and made sure my hair was cleansed, dried and blown out to perfection. She also used great products for my specific hair type and was super informative on hair care. I was so happy to hear that the spa was open during covid-19. The booking process went smoothly. I booked 4 massages for me, my husband, and my parents. The check in process was great, staff were extremely friendly and ensured we all had what we needed. We were offered bottles of water at check-in and handed iPads to fill out their questionnaire. We were supposed to arrive 15 minutes before our appt. started but it took a while parking, and walking through the casino to get to the spa. The spa attendant knew I had to hurry change, and get to my massuse. She checked me in gave me my locker, slippers, and robe and escorted me to my massuse. I had a 50- minute aromatherapy massage. It was very good. The oil used was a nice amount on my skin. I chose lavender for my scent. It was a very relaxing experience. The massuse was very professional and washed her hands before my treatment. After my massage I used the jacuzzi and waterfall shower. Everything was sanitized appropriately. The lounge chairs, the floors, tables, jacuzzi, and shower. Everything smelled clean as well. We couldn't use the showers in the women's spa lounge due to Covid-19 but we could use the one waterfall shower by the jacuzzis to rinse off. All the spa attendants were wonderful! They gave us everything we needed. This was my Dad's first time at the spa, the attendant gave him shaving cream and a razor so he could shave and made sure he knew where everything was. The best thing was that they had disposable bathing suits that fit like a glove. My spa attendant tied my top to make it more comfortable for me. Everything was amazing! I came to the Rock Spa during October 2020 while Covid restrictions were in place. I found the facilities to be immaculate and the spa took every precaution toward health and safety. My massage was done by Tyrone. I can honestly admit it was the best massage I ever had. I enjoy firm massages and I workout daily, and Tyrone hit every sore muscle in all the best ways. I truly had a rock star experience at the Rock Spa. This spa has rocketed to the top of my spa list. My husband and I took advantage of the Just the Two of Us Couples Massage on MLK Day. It was a late idea, so we had to be diligent with waiting for a cancellation to snag a reservation. Each person I spoke with was so polite and helpful. The customer service stood out on each of the 5 or 6 days I called. We were welcomed with a glass of champagne and then split off into the gendered restrooms to get the tour. There are lockers that come stocked with a robe and sandals. They recommend bringing your own bathing suit, but they do have extras. Arriving 2 hours before our appointment, we fully intended to use the spa facility, which we had full-day access to. It includes a beautiful gym a floor above the spa check-in. If I wasn't there to relax, I could've worked out for hours! There was modern cardio equipment, complete with TVs/internet access and even a spin studio with access to classes. I couldn't pass up an elliptical workout that looked directly onto the Steel Pier, AC boardwalk and Atlantic Ocean. Speaking of AC, aside from the views of the pretty stuff, you didn't even realize you were in a casino. If you utilize the valet parking, you can enter the spa through the hotel entrance and avoid all cigarette smoke! After the workout, my husband and I met in the co-ed whirlpool and ambient pools. The room was bright and modern, and also included showers with water from the Atlantic Ocean and Caribbean. That was probably the only service I didn't use as it was like 20 degrees outside. There are lounge chairs in this area perfect for post massage napping. I wish the saunas and steam rooms were coed, but I think having these areas gendered is standard. I just had to relax without the hubby for a little. We (separately) walked up to the women's and men's lounges on the second floor to await our massage. There were snacks of apples, trail mix and tea that we could enjoy while lounging and waiting for our service. I was called punctually and led to a massage room with a table for two. I believe the style of the massage was a standard Swedish, and I opted for medium intensity. My masseuse worked out all of the knots in my shoulders. There was a window again overlooking the pier and the ocean, although that didn't matter when you were facing up or down- it was just nice to have otherwise. The massage was excellent and hit all of the right spots. Maybe next time I'll opt for 80 minutes instead of 50. I didn't think of showering at the spa, but they had me covered with all the shampoo, soaps, lotions, brushes and hair dryers a girl could need. I loved the salt scrub near the restrooms. How many times is too many to do that? Asking for a friend... Each staff member was friendly and helpful. Customer service was really their game. Oh my where do I start, We went here for our 21Anniversary. When we first arrived we noticed it was a clean spa and the customer service was on point. Ms. Esther was my aide to show me where everything was and guide me to my therapist. She WAS AMAZING, AND SHOULD BE TRAINING ALL THE STAFF THAT ASSISTS CUSTOMERS !!!! After she showed me to my therapist who's name was Stephanie, I wasn't pleased with my service. My therapist wasn't as warm and welcoming as I would have liked her to be. With everything going on in the world, when you come to a spa there is a certain kind of service you are looking for. I mentioned to my therapist that MsEsther was setting up the hot tub for my husband and I. But I was to let her know when our massages were over because it first comes due to the pandemic. I've been to Atlantic City more times than I could possible count. And the past three times, I've visited Rock Spa in the Hard Rock Hotel. It's a great spa. I've had two massages and they were both great. This spa is very large, with lots of amenities. Steam room, relaxation lounges (men, women and coed), jacuzzi, etc. It's very quiet and very clean. The staff are all very friendly and efficient. I wouldn't come to Atlantic City without visiting this place. It's that nice. read more

The facility was very clean and well kept, the staff was SO ATTENTIVE, kind, knowledgable of their services and products, & overall just giving and willing to help! I treated myself to the Berries and Bubbly facial, berries and bubbly pedi, and put a ring on it mani. My fiancée wasn't a fan (or so she thought ;) ) of spas and that sort of thing but her mind is completely changed! She originally just got a hair cut at the salon. We asked if she could join me in the spa afterwards and they said she could purchase a spa day pass for $19.97 for full access of the facility and ammenities! We got to enjoy the sauna, the multiple pools (cold & hot tub), a shower experience that had different options for cold and warm misting, essential oils infused with orange that left you smelling AMAZING, light snacks, hot tea, water, regular showers fully stocked with toiletries, exfoliant hand scrub that had lemon grass in it and also smelled amazing! Also you got a complimentary mimosa or chapagne, but they gave us each two ! I had Riley for my facial and she was so sweet and has ~28 years of experience working in this industry. She recommended great products that are still affordable and catered to my skin care needs. Audrey was my nail tech and we had such wonderful conversations and she made me feel so pampered and comfortable! Ester was the goddess in the spa facility making sure all the ladies made it to their appointments on time and was so acccomodating! She also had such an upbeat personality that make you feel so excited to get to your next appointment! 10/10 would recommend to EVERYONE and can't wait to go back!!! I feel so strongly in recognizing when good services are given and they truely deserve this. Don't forget to tip your people, the service charge listed on Hard Rocks website helps them get paid but I later found out will be changed in the future. My girlfriends and I had an Easter Spa Day at the Hard Rock Spa the experience was friendly , accommodative, soothing and relaxing. It was three of us and they made a reservation 3 days before and they were able to set our appointments at such short notice and made sure they were together so we could have an hour open to enjoy the sauna and steam room. The was champagne mimosas to top off a great day. The Spa was Clean and well kept the whirl pool and Rain shower were absolutely the most relaxing pool and shower I have been in a long time. The price is steep, for a massage and facial and gratuity is already included the price was 385.00, so be aware of that, but if you choose to give more on top of the 18% to the technicians and 3% to service by all means you can give what you prefer. read more

The Best Spa in AC!! Eric is Very Nice Guy and Jim is Super Friendly he made sure I got Everything I asked for and went the Extra Mile he was Absolutely Fantastic!!!! The Amenities here are Tremendous the Steam Room Just Right not Too Hot and Sauna . everything is Sparkling Clean you can Eat off the Floor here. I had a couples massage with my partner, and it was such a lovely experience! They had fully stocked showers with high-quality amenities and toiletries. The steam room was down, but the sauna and hot tubs were fully functioning-- a great place to relax before the massage. My massage therapist, Mary, had applied the perfect amount of pressure, and checked in to ensure I stayed comfortable throughout the session. Me and my wife went here for the 80 minute just the two of us couples massage. It was great! We had Carmela and Virginia. They did a wonderful job and i highly recommend them. We arrived 30 mins early so they could show us around and have us be ready when our massage time was. We had a 10 am appointment. We were the only people there.
