Great meats and bread , highly recommended. They actually make the sausages on house and the bread is fresh.

Silly me. I saw the word "sea" and assumed it was a fish store! Only later did I look this place up online and realized that the "bra" of their name referred to Brazil! In fact, they are a chain and the largest distributor in the US of Brazilian/Portuguese foods (per google). So we entered what turned out (to us) to be a Latin supermarket. Prices of produce were very high (even compared to Publix) on some items like bananas, but other select products were not. The same held true for "regular" foods... However, if you were seeking a certain hard to find "ethnic" product then price is no object. We were not here to shop -- mainly just to see what they have (and to get in some steps!) so we just browsed around the aisles. The store is not large and it was pretty empty on a midweek afternoon. They have a meat and fish department plus a bakery and pre-cooked items along with their fresh produce and packaged goods. We did find a couple things to buy (don't you always?). My husband loves passion fruit and they had maracuja tang packets. He bought a couple (it's very good, he told me today). And I could not resist getting a can of Brazilian hearts of palm. We probably won't be shopping here, but I'm glad we came to check them out. Now we know.

Seabra is part of a Latin supermarket chain founded in 1971 by a Portuguese immigrant Americo Nunes Seabra, hence the name. Seabra immigrated to the United States in 1967 with his wife and six children. While working as a butcher in Newark, NJ, he noticed there was a lack of ethnic grocery products so he opened a small market offering all of the food products he had grown up with. The store expanded to include items from all over Europe, Central America. and South America. The flagship store is still in Newark, home of one of the largest Brazilian and Portuguese communities in the United States while Seabra is now one of the largest distributors of Brazilian and Portuguese foods in the United States. According to the company website they "strive to provide the highest quality product, the freshest produce and the most variety of ethnic foods. Our priority is our customers and their satisfaction." Check out the website for recipes and circulars The Fish Catch next door recommended I come here to purchase alcohol since they don't have a liquor license. Excellent! Problem solved. Although Seabra had an interesting selection of Portuguese wines I grabbed a six pack of Smirnoff and walked around a bit to explore. I loved all of the large colorfully wrapped chocolate eggs they had hanging overhead throughout the store to celebrate Easter. This being Parkland, the store looks upscale and very clean. They have a drool worthy bakery serving my new favorite sweet, brigadeiro, fresh produce, meat counter with all kinds of beef and pork, deli, and a cafe serving hot prepared food for lunch and dinner. Most interesting to me where containers that were laid out for $9.99 labeled misc buffet. They seemed to be left over from lunch. I have no idea what was in them but they looked good. Check out was a breeze. Although I was unfamiliar with most of the items in here I will definitely be back to explore more. It was fun to discover this new to me supermarket and I love expanding my culinary horizons.

After having a delicious meal, I briefly stopped by this Whole Foods location to grab some strawberries and bananas to make smoothies at home. Inside was almost like a madhouse, with plenty of shoppers buying a variety of items. In the produce section, I picked up a package of nice-looking strawberries for $4.99 and a bunch of bananas for $0.69/lb. I walked around the store to see if I needed anything else, but decided to stick with just the fruit. Checkout was quick and I received satisfactory service from the cashier. I also noticed the strawberries were actually on sale, which made me happy. I look forward to another visit to Whole Foods to pick up fresh fruit for my smoothies or to buy as a refreshing, nutritious snack.

The day I was there I wanted a SEED OIL FREE dressing - but after making my salad I realized there was nothing. So, I did not get to eat there. I did find CHEF CHRISTY'S I-M LEAN LLC Raw Vegan Bakery Products in the refrigerated case with Halloween Displays. Many of the containers had BROKEN SEALS - labels cracked exposing the opening of the products packaging. I was SHOCKED they actually let them sit there on the shelves. Not certain what their protocol is for DAMAGED ITEMS - definitely did not look good. They did have the CORRECT EXPIRATION dates - 45 days out according to their PACKAGING The store looked very nice - did not walk around the entire store though. Wished I could have enjoyed a SALAD. Had to go elsewhere to eat. I did inform the Store & Manufacturing FDACS Investigators that there was plenty of PRODUCT in this store to test, examine. They were NOT PLEASED with me letting them know that. I felt that the GENERAL PUBLIC had a right to know that the items sitting in these different Whole Foods Market stores of Chef Christy's/ Chef Cristy's were fraudulently labeled - with KOSHER, GLUTEN-FREE, CERTIFIED ORGANIC, NON-GMO PROJECT, USDA ORGANIC logo and the other USDA CERTIFERS Names and Logos for approx 12 years thru out the USA. They are no longer for sale in their stores. This VENDOR was reported to each & every regulatory agency that had jurisdiction - nothing happened to the owners. Most Disturbing! Thank You for allowing me to Share the TRUTH with you.

He came back with everything on my list and more. So this week when in the area, I wanted to stop by and check it out myself. They have a lot of produce. All very nicely arranged and marked clearly with price signs. Some items are quite reasonable -- especially those items in sale. Most are at a good price or comparable to your local market. They also have a section of ready to eat cooked food and other deli items in a cooler. I did get another container of chopped chicken liver as I'd really like the one we tried before. I liked the fact that some of the cooked foods were in small portions for 1 or 2 people. What I didn't expect was the shelves of international food items -- from British to Mexican. These shelves line one wall. The place isn't large, but it certainly will have most of the fruits and veggies you're looking for. My husband thought their jumbo eggs were a real bargain, too. I'm sure we will be back when next in the area.

They offer specials to enjoy and save some $$$, as well as bakery items from locals. As you get near the rear of the store you can smell some of the delicious aromas from items they are cooking up fresh. Prices are modest and better than the supermarket chains.
