We brought lunch to have at the park and honestly, not much was eaten because there was just so much to do! What a toddler dreamland. There's a solitary airplane by the swings, a 'firetruck' to enter/exit, a boat to drive, slides of all kinds..a whale to climb that blows water steam out of its blowhole! I mean..the creativity! There's a quiet area that has books and chairs to read to the littles, like a "take one/leave one" small library. A section dedicated to music where littles can create sounds from a piano by using their feet to step on the keys. A bike park next-door. A pirate ship..I mean, the list goes on and on! In short, this playground is inclusive to all. The magic, wonder, uniqueness, and just imaginative play that is captured by adults and kids alike is really awesome for somewhere in the East Bay. We already can't wait to come back again. Street parking adjacent to playground can be found. This is a popular spot, so plan accordingly.

This park is epic - from the Braille to the musical/sound features, awesome fire truck and the spouting whale! We could spend hours here (or at least an hour because Mama's got a schedule). For now we'll be back most weekends after basketball practice. I'd recommend this park to all parents of small children.

The man made lake is beautiful curved with willow trees planted along the shore . A lot of shade and lounge chairs to sit and relax . It is a great place to enjoy the views of the wild life ( birds ) , plants and scenery along the lake . There is a small parking lot at the entrance. Which makes sense when you're in a concrete urban jungle day in and day out - we just weren't meant to live this way. I literally searched Yelp for a park in the area on my way home, and Lakeshore came up. Tucked away in a residential area, Lakeshore is a small-ish, serene, well-kept park with, as the name implies, a lake being the central point. I strolled on the path for a bit. I'm not sure how long the path is, but it seems like a good spot to get a decent walk in, and there were a few walkers and joggers. After stretching my legs for a bit, I grabbed some bench and watched the birds - geese (these guys are huge!), seagulls, ducks, and crows - hanging out and eyeballing me to determine if I had food. They were so cute. There is nothing that gets me feeling better fast than being around animals. The human animals that passed by were nice as well, with smiles and hellos, how refreshing. I spent some time just sitting and resetting. It was good. I need to do this more. Nice park, enjoyed a much-needed reprieve here, and would return.

This park has a lot of open space and a few modalities for children and adults. Some exercise…read moremachines including a stepper, a sit down bike, and a strider but none of them have resistance so they seem to be mainly for aerobic exercise. There's also a pull Ip bar, sit up bench, and ladders for more body weight training. Playground has a couple swings, a tire swing, a wooden bridge, some steering wheels, and a slide. Not all too interesting for older kids and the wooden platforms make it seem not too sturdy or safe for younger children. There's a half court basketball area and open green and seems to be pretty quiet most of the time. Overall, it's decent, however, it doesn't look to be well maintained and their playground structure still had some old weathered wood platforms. If you're in the area, it's not a bad place to stop by but I wouldn't go out of my way for it.

The park is located in a really nice neighborhood and could only imagine how busy it could get on the weekends or really nice spring or summer days. Parking here is pretty good during the week, as most people are at work but during the weekend it might be a little tricky. The park is clean and looks to be up kept. The park is located next to a sewer of some sort because occasionally there were nasty odors. Would I come back? Perhaps. But not my favorite park. I've seen better!

Hiked a good 5 miles around the park and it was a blast. Like many said, there are options --…read moreoptions for parking, options for terrain, options for elevation, the list goes on and on. For parking -- you have the option to park .5miles away from the park entrance without paying with the caveat that you have to cross the busy road or paying at the yellow box. Be sure to pay before you enter as there are no other pay stations. Terrain includes freshwater marshes and scenery or dry grass and hills. I tried out both and they were lovely. Lots of Jennys and deer along the trails. Go check it out! The visitor center was so cute and the rangers were very sweet.

Not only did I save money by avoiding parking fees, but there were so many adorable goats along the creek on the other side of the ISA lot, seemingly hundreds. Apparently, they are brought in periodically for wildfire prevention as they eat the dry grass. It was a lovely surprise. The Quarry Lakes recreation area offers multiple restrooms, picnic tables and park benches galore, plenty of grass with grazing geese, ducks swimming in the water, squirrels scampering around, fishing docks and pier, and wide gravel trails bordering the lakes which was perfect for my run this past Sunday. There were hardly any visitors while I was there so I was able to enjoy the scenic views and serene environment with minimal distractions.

The Golden Gate Bridge play structure was awesome. My kid loved it and probably ran up and down the bridge and the various slides attached to it 100 times. The trees and greenery were beautiful in July, and there was much to appreciate in the little details and features of the garden. And if that's not enough, there's more to explore at Shinn Park.
