While not exactly Cajun, it is seriously amazing. The shrimp are THE best shrimp I've tasted outside of the Gulf Coast. The catfish was crispy and fresh throughout. The hush puppies were cooked at the edge of crisp but maintain moisture more like cornbread than I'm used to and now that may be the only way I want them. The broccoli was fresh and buttery. Also the egg rolls are one of the best deals on the Eastside. I believe I've taste every seafood place on the Eastside and this place has the best FRIED seafood for sure. My wife and I split a (2) Fish and 5 Shrimp plate and we were both too full. The pieces they use are colossal! Only drawback is they use FROZEN crawfish, as many do when it's out of season, but it makes me question if they ever use fresh crawfish when crawfish is in season. Upon entering the restaurant, it's a very plain aesthetic and it smells a bit fishy. It just looks like a old school fish market. They have too large freezers with crab legs and the like on the side. They have shrimp, scallops and more displayed in the middle counter where all the employees are located behind. Basically you have to pick out your own food and then tell the employees and you can either take it home and cook it yourself or they can cook it for you. I chose for them to cook it. The music can sometimes be a little loud, but I think this restaurant is great for a large crowd. I would give this place five stars, but I find that inconsistency is really apparent, and I order the same thing every time. I always get my seafood boil extra hot, and on some days, the "extra hot" feels lukewarm, and on other days, "extra hot" will burn a hole down my throat (which I like!). I will still come back though.
