Screw this place. Completely unprofessional and unprepared. Made an order TWO WEEKS AGO IN PERSON for my Christmas Eve party of 60 for shucked baby neck clams. Garbage. I ordered $9.99 clam platter which consisted of a small handful of soggy fried crumb shapes (not the 1/2 lb. clams as noted), undercooked limp French fries and tiny coleslaw. Do not miss their seafood platters! Stuffed shrimp platters come with two HUGE jumbo shrimp stuffed with a good size crabcake on top and your choice of fries or onion rings and coleslaw. Both fried and broiled platters are great. You can even get a custom platter with basically anything in the seafood market. They will make up a meal for you and it will always be epic. This place is still as good as the first time I've visited and that's saying something, since my first visit was back in 1996 when my brother told me about his secret lunch spot. It is rare when a neighborhood seafood market looks and feels the same 25+ years later. It reminds me of the seafood markets my mom and I visited when I lived in Brooklyn/Bensonhurst. I always love coming here for fresh seafood. It's our go-to place. Great service every single time. But only recently have we try their prepared foods - and we were blown away. We've tried crab cake sandwich, fried fish sandwich, lobster roll, poke bowls. DELICIOUS! All well prepared and generous. Lobster roll : Loads of lobster, ideal temperature (which seems weird to mention but it really adds to the overall experience), subtle lemon, soft roll. Homemade potato chips. Delicious even down to the pickle. And all beautifully and smartly packaged. Salmon poke bowl : A standout poke bowl. Especially loved the shredded daikon radish, seaweed salad, crunch (what is that stuff?!) and the sauce that has just the right amount of wasabi. It makes this poke better than any I've had before. Seafood USA is a seafood market with about four small tables. You can order from the counter at the market and one of the guys will bring it to your table. On a road trip from Baltimore to King of Prussia, PA, it was the perfect place for a reasonable, quick, tasty meal. Of course, Seafood USA is a little of the beaten path and we never would have found it had it not been for Yelp! When we arrived at Seafood USA the guys at the counter let us know the process. Just tell them what you want and they will bring it to your table! They also gave us some suggestions. The guys could not have been any nicer! After we gave our orders we sat at one of the small tables that are off to the side. It was just a few minutes before our soups arrived. The four of us shared two soups which are sold by the pint, a clam chowder and a cream of crab. I am not usually one for cream soups but these soups were fantastic! Each was smooth but was not too disgustingly rich. Each had its own unique fish flavor. The soups were definitely my favorite dishes here. I highly recommend them. Our mains came soon after. I ordered broiled scallops and a broiled crab cake. The scallops were okay for me. I thought they tasted a bit "fishy". No one else thought so. The crab cake was very good, but not as good as the crab cake I had earlier in Baltimore that day. All the platters came with fries and cole slaw. The fries were quite seasoned and were a tad salty for me. The cole slaw was excellent. It tasted very fresh with the slightest bit of mayo. Both boys got fried crab cakes. The broiled crab cake were much better. Husband got a fried mixed seafood platter. He was very happy with the items on it, especially the fried scallops. Of course all the seafood at the market can be cooked at home. There is plain fish and plenty of pre-prepared items. No, this place isn't a restaurant, but they do have a very good secret. The secret is that this place doubles as a bit of a lunch spot if you are so inclined. Now, to eat lunch here, you have to be willing to sit at a really small table (of which there aren't many), and you have to be willing to eat lunch in a seafood market. I mean, it isn't great ambiance. However, if you are so inclined, you will be rewarded with a fantastic seafood meal as good as anything you can get in a restaurant, and maybe better than many restaurants. Granted, they don't serve it on good china or anything. A foil pan is about the best you will get. But I had a hankering for seafood for lunch, gave their broiled seafood trio a try today, and I did not regret it one bit. I believe his name was Mike, he was as the best person to help me with my dinner this evening. I walked in wanting to make sushi for my boyfriend when I don't really even eat fish. Not only did I get assistance in picking the right fish, he also cut it thinly, then shucked fresh oysters for me, and helped me pick out some seaweed salad to go with it. Even got a cucumber there to slice up and put inside the rolls. I was shocked when my bill was under $30!!!!!! Thank you so much Seafood USA! You made our dinner complete! I've been getting blue crabs from here for as long as I can remember. As the quality goes with the season, this Seafood USA is always accurate with their quality grade. Yes, it's a bit pricey (heart of the Main Line location here people) but if you know/want/need that delicious crab meat, it's worth it. Side note - whenver I'm here, more often than not there is a regular picking up their order. Regulars who know the staff and vice versa means the product is good ! read more

(6/30/13) They were good- a little small and a little expensive ($30 for a dozen) but they were cooked well, the staff was friendly and the seasoning was derrrrishhhhoush. They will be moving nearby and will have more tables. We had lunch--ordered inside and ate at one of the 3 outside tables. Everything was great. Crab cakes with no breading filler, giant shrimp cocktail and Manhattan clam chowder. Owner could not be more helpful. We had called and he mentioned online menu. We looked it up on phone and got the sushi menu. Called back and he offered to read the whole regular menu. Just couldn't be nicer people/better service. While we ate a number of cars pulled up to get fish--they seem to be thriving which is terrific. Wish I could give 6 stars!!! read more

So, I have to start this review by letting you know that I grew up in the Midwest with a healthy fear of corner seafood stores.... It was about survival! With that in mind I had known about this place for over a decade before I ever went in.... That was my mistake. After a friend vouched for the place I took a wary step inside. Walking in is nothing special. It is clean and well kept, which is the important part. I started with the cooked shrimp my first time there. After that I worked my way though their whole selection of both fresh uncooked and cooked food offerings. Every time the food was fresh and delicious. Every time the customer service was good. Every time I was thinking about the next time I would come in. -- This is my 'go to' for seafood. The guys are the farmer's market are great. There are some other good spots in town, but this place never fails you on freshness at a reasonable price. Please join me in supporting this local business. They deserve the vote of your dollars. On December 19, I ordered 8 Lbs. of Alaskan King Crab Legs, for pick-up on December 24. My only request was to have Alaskan King Crab legs with US origin as we should expect with the name. The sales person confirmed I will have US products. On the 24th, when I showed up for pick-up, the Crab Legs were already pre-packed, not for 8 Lbs but for 10 Lbs. and from Russia! That was not my order. On top of which the price tag was $340 for the box. They mislead me. I went to Whole Foods, got my 8Lbs of US Alaskan King Crab legs for $138. It is unfortunate that I originally decided to go to a small business to support them and they did not follow-through their promise. I will never go back to Seafood USA. read more

Seafood USA has been my go-to place for good seafood for a number of years now. The seafood is not a bargain, but bargain seafood is only worth what you pay for it: not much. I just bought the jumbo lump crab meat yet again. Had the same experience I've always had: I worked through it to find cartilage/shell pieces. Found none. Thought maybe I was somehow missing it, but made my crab cakes anyways. Had 8 people for dinner, including my sister. She asked who cleaned the crab. I thought, "Oh no...!" I said I did, but hadn't found any. I asked if she had. She said no...it was the cleanest she's had, including fancy restaurants. I asked if anyone else at the table had found any, and no one had. Fair warning, if you need a tablecloth this place might not be for you. The ambiance is essentially a fish market that cooks and prepares the same fresh fish for lunch, dinner or takeaway. Why would we drive on traffic-laden Lancaster Ave to get crab legs and shrimp cocktail, when we could easily get to Genuardis or Giant? And why would we pay several more dollars a pound? I complained the whole way there. And then I saw the difference in size and quality between the regular supermarket offerings and Seafood USA. Hey, these could be typical differences and I'm just an idiot. But if you can't make it to Reading Terminal and you're going to buy previously frozen stuff anyway, Seafood USA is pretty awesome. Also, the Shrimp Lejon is pricey at $3 each, but totally worth it. Giant shrimp, stuffed with yummy horseradish and wrapped in bacon. Wanted blue crabs bad! I called before I went to make sure they had Maryland blue crabs. I let them know I wanted them hot. They said, "no problem, we will cook them when you get here. It will take some time." I said, "that's ok, I'll wait". I arrived and identified myself as the person on the phone who inquired about the hot crabs and told them I wanted a dozen large at $48 dozen. Asked them to show me the size of the large at $36 dozen and extra large at $48 dozen. Asked for extra seasoning. Thought price was high but hadn't had them in a long time and thought I deserved them! A treat for me! While waiting, I thought this was going to be my new seafood place. Guy came out couple minutes later with ice cold crabs and the trout I ordered. I said, "Are these cold?" He said yes. I'm thinking- was he not listening to anything I said when I walked in? I told him again I wanted them hot. My daughter joked that he was popping them in the microwave....and we laughed it off. He comes back and the bag has steam coming from the top. Obviously these were hot right! Got them home and realized that one-two on the top were hot but the rest in the bag were still cold. Really? I live 25 minutes away. This is bullshit! I was so pissed! They were not only cold but they were small! I called immediately and said- "you know why I'm calling to complain right?" They responded, "No- why." I told them why. These were not good heavy crabs either for the most part (3 were). The rest were light and not meaty. I wasted my money! Just moved back to East Coast and was looking forward to some good crabs! So disappointed with this place. They lost what would have been a great customer! Never coming here again. The seafood trio was good but the portion size was pretty small. The Seafood USA in Wayne is terrible. Tried Wayne for the last time today and will never go back. I got four pieces of supposedly fried flounder. The two smaller pieces were fine; the larger pieces were not flounder. I know the difference between flounder and cod or fluke; the texture and flavor are different. On top of that they charged me $18 for what the guy said was 3/4 pounds of plain fried flounder, not the platter with fries, etc. The fried flounder platter is $12 and is posted as having 8 ounces of flounder. So not only did we get mostly fried cod instead of flounder, but they charged us the platter price for plain fish with no fries, etc. This is not the first time we have had issues at the Wayne location. The Seafood USA in Paoli is excellent and isn't that much further. read more

I ran in this past Sunday to pick up a half dozen shrimp for a shrimp/sausage bake I was making. The guys were really friendly who were helping the customers and there were very fresh looking seafood choices. The jumbo lump crab cakes grabbed my attention in particular. They are huge and full of crab meat. You guessed it. I was back Monday to pick up a pair for dinner. I went back today for two more and two soft shelled crabs. Can't wait for dinner! The seafood here is as fresh as it comes. The sushi grade tuna is really tasty as are their fresh oysters. They really know fish and will tell you all about items you are not familiar with. They're pretty hones about telling you whats fresh and what's not. They speak Korean too which is a major plus!
