If I could give 0 stars, I would…read more I brought my graduation stole to T-Shirt Source in Daly City for embroidery and even paid extra to expedite the order from the normal 7 days to 3-5 days because my graduation was coming up. The day before I was supposed to pick it up, they called me and told me they had "lost" my stole. Instead of taking accountability, they told me to go buy another stole myself and that they would embroider the replacement "on the spot." I ended up taking time off work trying to deal with this mess, and to make things worse, I could barely even get ahold of the store while trying to figure out what was going on. When I asked if they could at least reimburse me for losing my stole, they told me they couldn't because they were "no longer making a profit" off my order. There was little to no apology, no urgency, and absolutely no professionalism. Then after all the back and forth, they suddenly "found" my stole and told me to come pick it up at 5:30. It became pretty obvious that they never actually lost it -- they just lied about it to buy themselves more time. This was one of the most stressful customer service experiences I've had, especially considering this was for a major life event. Really shitty service. I would not recommend trusting them with anything important or time-sensitive.

But what REALLY gets me is, TWO of it's stores display as "Gateway", so it's very easy to make mistakes, since the system gleefully changes the store I am shopping (Vallejo Gateway), even when I am logged in, to what IT wants (Fairfield Gateway), and I end up driving first to the Vallejo store (7 miles) and then angrily to Fairfield store (another 23 miles!) to get my item. I only go to Michaels when I need my item today, and by the time I drive to Vallejo and Fairfield, I should have ordered from Amazon! Second HUGE annoyance, and this is the BIG one, whichever store I order from to drive out and pickup items, the store will cancel part or even all of my items without any notice at all. "Your order is ready to be picked up!" and then sometimes I have driven 30 miles to disappointment and anger. Yes, at this point it is anger. Yesterday, I ordered a few things from Amazon and this supply I needed yesterday from Michael's: Jumbo Compressed Charcoal ($3.74) the only thing I needed. But, why drive out for a $4 thing? So I ordered White Compressed Charcoal ($3.74), Vine charcoal sticks ($3.74), and blending tortillons ($1.79), just to make the trip worthwhile (as if!). Got there, grabbed stuff, left quickly, because I was late for an appointment. At home, I see I only got the white charcoal and the blending sticks, and a note on the slip "LM called @2/6 1 p.m." "refund" by the two items I didn't get, and "see cashier". I checked my credit card today, and apparently I have to go back to Michaels and get a cashier to refund me. Man, I really hate Michaels. Grrrr Edit: I did find days later a voicemail from the clerk at Michaels apologizing and informing. After the last 2 iphone updates, I have not been notified of voicemails, and I only came upon it by accident today, trying to find a contact. Customer service via email has attempted to be helpful, lamely, asking for information I already gave and not doing anything about it. What a hassle for about $7. So I'm going to try taking the receipt to the store.

Their ability to process the USPS material is almost grossly limited compared to a real post office. So you may think their hours are more convenient than your local post office. BUT. The number of package pickups at the UPS locations is lame. Thanks to Amazon and other pressures on the USPS, they now process mail 24/7. Yes weekends, holidays, rain, shine... So if you managed to sneak your mail at the post office minutes before their closing time, most likely the mail will be picked up and sent for processing. You go to the UPS store and forget it. Your package will be stalled in transit at the store. For days. That would be Sundays, holidays. There won't be after hours pick up. And your mail will be stuck in the UPS store until the postal service arrives for their extremely limited number of pickups. But wait. The UPS store will most likely charge you more than a post office for the same service. Just go to a real post office.

For less than $200 we got personal editing assistance with professional adobe tools we couldn't afford on our own. The results were just perfect and, pending some red tape, a huge success! I owe a tremendous debt to Patrick Havens - his individual attention and consideration in an emotional and urgent process made our experience so much better. Now our niece enjoys her own copy of our pamphlet (she's featured in it too!) and it's a keepsake for all the families involved in the process. Minuteman management approved Patrick handle this with extra time and care and they deserve credit too. Patrick, you helped bring a lot of love into our lives, thank you so much. Also, more important for many Yelpers: their prices were great, better than sketchy online outfits I considered at first. We were very happy there was no premium to support this local business.
