I can't say enough good things about Redwood Cleaners. About a week ago, I brought them a vintage beige blouse that was passed down from my mom. It's over 30 years old and holds a lot of sentimental value for me. Unfortunately, I accidentally mixed it with dark-colored clothes in the laundry, and it ended up badly stained. After taking $30 and taking a week to finish it (which is a lot more than they normally charge) I picked up and had my mom try it on only to discover that it was not shortened at all because it still needed the same 4 and a half inches to be cut. I went back and let them know that the dress was not shortened and the lady there claimed that we did not measure it correctly and that they did take off 4 and a half inches. She refused to redo it or refund me the amount. Highly disappointed in this business and will be finding a new place to get my clothes tailored. read more

I had 3 pair of new men's dress slacks that needed hemming-shortening. Called around a handful of local cleaners to find a yo-yo range of prices for service. Settled on Redwood Cleaners, who promptly replied to my Yelp inquiry and seemed to be the best match on price + location. In writing via text, I was quoted $15/pair, which seemed reasonable and was the best price among those businesses I checked. Was greeted by friendly employees, who patiently measured the pants off. It was business co-owner Ana who helped me throughout. When presented the invoice slip, I was surprised however of an added charge for "cuffing" the pants, which added $7, or nearly a 50% upcharge on the one pair requiring cuffs. Ironically, this upcharge then put the new price above what other places were charging for the same service. Felt a bit hoodwinked as the switch basically negated much of the benefit of choosing Redwood to begin with. But, wishing to make the best of an awkward in-store moment, and the time & hassle expended hauling my garments to another shop, I decided then to task them with completing the job. Lesson here for others might be to ask very detailed questions on prices before coming here or agreeing to service? A follow-up call to Redwood to check on completion of my job on pick-up day wasn't answered or acknowledged. This being said, the job was completed when promised, the employees were cordial and they take card payment without a convenience fee (as of this review). It's a high-volume, high-output shop, so I'm figuring that all their customers can't be wrong about them. I can therefore satisfactorily recommend the business. I likely wouldn't hesitate returning, but would be even more careful knowing of pricing and upcharges next time. read more

On a short notice, I needed to have a pair of slim fitting suit pants to be altered for prom. However, I came in with a difficult challenge of wanting to flare the pants as well. The idea was to cut into the inseam of the pants and add fabric under to be sewn in order to create the flare I desired. I had already purchased the fabric to be added prior to my visit. Once I arrived to Redwood Cleaners, I was greeted with a genuine warm welcome and was asked for the service that I required. I explained that I wanted my suit pants to be altered and flared for prom that was in the upcoming week. I gave them a few reference pictures of how I wanted to flare the pants to look. They understood the idea I wanted for my pants and we ended up measuring the pants and came to an agreement on what would look best. Quickly in the next few days, they had the pins and alterations ready to be made, and had me come in to try on the pants to make sure that the alterations are prepared exactly for my liking. A slight few adjustments ended up being made after I tried them on. Cutting off just half an inch of each flare triangle, and they offered to make the size of the thighs a bit tighter to give a more natural look in total. By the next day, they already made the alterations and pressed my pants for me, having them ready for pickup. The pricing was really good and definitely worth while at my experience with Redwood Cleaners. Highly, highly recommend going to them for your dry cleaning needs! 10/10 read more

I took a bridesmaid dress in for alterations (hem and taken out). When speaking with the associate I was told that if I wanted it taken out I needed to bring in the fabric; however I mentioned that so much was being cut from the bottom that could be used for material. She said she would talk with her tailor and get back to me. I honestly was worried as they just took my word for measurements. However when I got the dress back it fit perfectly! I took it in on a Tuesday and it was ready Monday and cost me $80. If you do get a dress altered there make sure you have measurements and material (if needed). It's in my neighborhood and I chose this based on location and I did peruse their Yelp review so I thought I'd give it a try. I dropped off 2 pieces of clothing. Their price competive and I had 1 dress dry cleaned and 1 item altered. I dropped it off on a Saturday mid day and I was told it would be ready at first next week on a Thursday. I thought that was quite a long wait. Then the owner said ok, let's try Wednesday by 4 PM. I thought that was fair and she mentioned due to Covid, things are not as fast with the turn around on the service. I was not in a hurry to get the items back so I was ok with it. The day of the pick-up I was in the area and I called around 2:30 PM to see if I my items are ready early. It was! So that was a plus. Overall, I'm pleased with this business. The owners are courteous and your items are ready as promised. The alreatioin done on the jumpsuit was perfect so was the dry clean done on the dress. I only chose to give them a 4-star rating based on the length of time for the items to be ready. I wish the service turn around would be bit faster. The owner separated my 5 cotton shirts n 1 blouse for dry cleaning into piles . upon picking my clothes up I was informed all shirts n the blouse had been dry cleaned at the rate of $6.50 ea. I'm Short... A good tailor is hard to find! I found this place on YELP (Duh) and I took a leap of faith about 6 months ago. My recent experience (as of three days ago) really makes Redwood Cleaners a solid 5 Star place. I have taken numerous pants for hemming and one dress. This last visit I stopped in to deliver 3 pants for alterations; two tailors for the length and one for the re-seaming of the cuff. I was promptly greeted and attended to. I slipped back behind the orange drape for the makeshift dressing room and began the process of finding the perfect length for my stature. She was efficient and helpful when it came to finding a medium length for winter but with flats vs heels. Ideal for someone paying the cost of pants + the cost of alterations. All I had was 3 caps that I wanted cleaned. Brought them in early on a Thursday and the lady told me that they would be ready on Tuesday the following week by 4. Came in Tuesday around 5:15 pm and only one of the hats were done; I was told that the other 2 needed to be steamed and pressed because they were still wet from being washed a second time. She told me to come back Wednesday by 12 and they'd be finished. After picking them up the and getting home, I took them out of the plastic they were in and not only was the brim of both hats still wet ...they were still dirty looking....and there was white either water spots or soap residue stains on the top of the brims. The inside seam of one of the hat was frayed as well. What were once brand new looking hats, now looked like they were 10 years old. MY HATS WERE TOTALLY RUINED! This review is strictly for their ALTERATIONS services... To all of my vertically-challenged-designer-jeans-wearing brothers and sisters, DO NOT go here to get your jeans hemmed! I was actually really excited to get my jeans hemmed here since the price was right and the ladies there were friendly. It was only $15 and best of all they said that they could keep the ORIGINAL hem (very important!) However when I got my jeans back, the pant legs were 2 totally different lengths! Not just a little off, but completely noticeable! I originally cut them so I could wear them with heels, but only one side was cut to that length and the other side was shorter! At this point I am already pissed b/c I paid almost $200 for these jeans and now they were going to be flip-flop jeans. So I took them back to the cleaners to get them fixed. The lady there did some fancy measuring and "proved" to me that they were the same length and I was like "no, they're not, let me try them on for you and you'll see". After I put them on she then said "Oh, you must be one of those people with different leg lengths"?! Ummmmmmmm... seriously? WTH!!! After measuring the pant legs again this time the correct way, she agreed the pant legs were different lengths, but then proceeded to say that they can't cut the pant legs exactly and they are always off! Ummm, really? this is what you do all damn day!!!!!!! I get people mess up and I was fine w/ just cutting them shorter to make them match, but what's super annoying was a) she kept insisting they were fine b) she then blamed my legs and c) she never owned up to her mistake!!
