I am so glad this business is open near me. They do excellent work. They re-heeled and polished my boots, and had them ready for me when I needed them. They have effectively repaired one of my purses, as well. They work diligently and efficiently. They ask for 10% down when you bring in the work, I believe. I actually like that I had to pay a deposit because I ended up just paying the $12 to fix my zipper on my boots. When I came Back to pick up boots I didn't have to worry about paying. Ive been going to Shoe Hospital for 7 years now and thought i should let you know about them. Very good pricing, about half the price of most established shoe repairs. There turnaround is less than a week unless its a specialty item. Here is the great news. They will not tell you you need complete heels and sole replacement unless its necessary. In malls they are like car dealers telling you need complete replacement at max pricing. I had a Italian handmade shoes valued at $800 and thought i needed complete replacement but they said just heels at $29,50.Wow. Check them out. Also the do extra holes in my belts for just 50 cents per hole while you wait. Great customer service. read more

Okay, okay. I have to admit, that I too, have experienced the negativity of a certain female employee at this establishment years ago. In fact, due to the negative experience (lack of warm customer service, I felt like my business was not welcomed) with this place, I never returned... that is until recently! Sitting in my closet are my beloved Chanel (vintage) pumps, and I have not worn them in a while--I just did not know who to trust them with. I would normally go to the shoe repair place in Sacramento, but I really, really needed these shoes repaired ASAP. I decided go back to The Shoe Hospital. Believe me, I got ALOT of warnings to not trust them with my designer shoes. Well, I went anyway. Guess what? I was greeted warmly with a genuine welcome feeling, I was listened to and recommendations on how to clean and repair my beloved Chanel were provided. I left a deposit and a week later I returned. Viola! My Chanel pumps are beautiful again! The dark brown honey color is good as new , new heels in place and soles placed on the bottoms again. The quality and craftsmanship is excellent. After reading some of these reviews, I feel compelled to address some of the petty comments. First, to the customer who believed they are rude and don't like serving blacks - get over yourself! I am black and have always been treated respectfully. So stop putting the race card in. To those complaining about lack of credit/debit card use - it costs vendors to have credit card machines and they are also charged for each transaction using cards. They are using cash or checks because it's more convenient and cost effective for them. So save your IRS scam theory. They are not the only business in town that does that. To the customer whining that they couldn't guarantee their glue would hold - really?! If your shoes were in poor shape, they couldn't guarantee it would hold. At least they told you up front and not AFTER they took your money! They left you the option to choose. So if their honesty bothers you, go somewhere else. And for all you whining that they aren't friendly, seemed curt or rude - have you never had a bad day? Especially dealing with the public? Do you know how many nasty, rude customers they deal with daily? Yes - they should have been friendlier, more gracious and courteous. But just like the rest of us, they also have their breaking point of rude, mouthy customers. So for crying out loud - quit whining!!! They do good work at a fair price. I've found the owners to be friendly and helpful. They do not accept credit cards - this is inconvenient but should not cost them a star for quality of work. Some of the negative reviewers on the old location page complained about repairs that the owners would not guarantee. They are only being fair and honest when they tell you that - for example - a re-heal job on a molded sole shoe that wasn't designed to be re-healed may not last well. Very impressed by the craftsmanship. I have a leather sling bag that's very valuable to me and the thread ripped off of the straps. The nice lady was courteous and understanding. She was able to fix the bag and reinforce the the sewing so it would last longer. I'm grateful that a place like this still exists in Vallejo. Support your local family businesses, they also had a quick response time. If you ever need any leather goods stitched or dress shoes polished and restored I recommend this business. They even fix regular sneakers & there's not too many places that offer this type of quality service. Trustworthy business. And don't bring in some completely trashed shoes or bags, their quality is excellent but don't expect a miracle. I see some reviews expecting more than what they payed for. Their prices are reasonable but don't expect to bring your destroyed leather good in to be miraculously brought back to brand new condition from when you had bought it. My friend who manages a business on Springs recommended Shoe Hospital and I am so glad he did. My dog had chewed my beloved Stuart Weitzman shoes pretty badly. I didn't want to just throw away a $150 pair of shoes so I wanted to see if they could be fixed. The lady in the front mentioned that her husband would attempt to fix them but couldn't promise me. The price to fix would be $14 (such a great deal). I thought to myself, it's worth the shot even if it doesn't work. I came back a little over a week later and the shoes looked amazing! You couldn't even tell they had been a dog toy earlier in the month. Highly recommend. The only thing is they are cash only and you pay half up front.
