Brookwood Dental is THE most professional, skilled/competent dental office that we have ever…read morevisited. (We are seniors). I personally had a bridge placed, and cleaning. Husband, just a cleaning. We feel blessed that Brookwood Dental are presently taking new patients at this time. Before they complete a procedure, they check your insurance, and then give you a printout of charges, and patient responsibility's amount. Thankful for Brookwood Dental's honesty/transparency.

In 2013, I decided to no longer return to the dental office that I have visited for over 10 years…read more It was due to a number of circumstances that took its toll on my patience. March 2017, a tooth snapped off while eating dinner. I'm happy to have found a dentist who can see me the next day since I was in pain. He was able to temporarily glue it back until I become permanent at this new job and have insurance. Unfortunately (or fortunately) this dentist is not in my dental insurance network. Two months later, tooth fell off again. I saw a different dentist who glued it back. Thereafter, I visited the oral surgeon to whom they referred me. They were good, but inside me says that I should get a second opinion. Dental office #3, I went to see last month, August 2017. This office was almost great but the insurance/finance gal frustrated me. Not sure whether she really knows what she's doing. Needless to say, I decided to see Dental office #4, Brookwood Dental Center. It's as if I have been "dating" guys who are "nice" but gave no spark, I think I found "The One." Dr. Stegmann did not make me feel as if I'm just "squeezed" between VIP patients. I could sense that he heard me -- me, as a competent person; me, as one who is asking for a caring help. I also sensed his labor over my dilemma (ie costs) versus what is good for my dental health. And he courteously acknowledged the pleasure of meeting me before he exited the room. It felt sincere and not a perfunctory gesture. Then Lisa, the insurance/finance person, came in with her customary papers. I had to stop her after a few minutes, to tell her how comfortable she made me feel and how I appreciate her gentle, knowledgeable, caring presentation of the plan costs. Her want to meet my (financial) concerns is palpable! She was not just pointing out how much I need to cough up. She met me in a way as if she's there to help me afford "this." It was a breath of fresh air to meet one like Lisa, doing her job, with the attitude of wanting to help and be helpful. As I mentioned earlier, like dating, I may have found the Dental Office that I want to continue to see. I am now hopeful that I could once again have a long-term relationship with my DMD and his staff. Thank you Lisa, Jessica and Dr. Stegmann for the pleasant visit.

If I could leave 0 stars, I would. I am not one to write bad reviews. My whole family came here for…read moreyears. In 2017, I got a botched root canal from them and it almost killed me. Not exaggerating. For months I went to them saying I had tooth pain all over. In 2017, one day my front big tooth was in excruciating pain - the worst pain I've ever felt. My whole face hurt so bad I didn't sleep for days until the next business day (3 days later) when I finally went to the dentist and they said my tooth had died and the root was decaying and that was the reason for the pain - all the gas was trapped in my root pocket and radiating. They did a root canal, which I've heard is supposed to be one of the worst pains in life. But let me tell you, that was the most relieving because I was numb. When they opened the tooth and removed the root, you could SMELL the decay. Immediately after, I had a little pain but was mostly numb. I asked the dentist since there was so much decay, do I need antibiotics. I asked multiple times and he insisted I didn't. That was the biggest mistake. That evening and overnight, the pain resumed, my face started to swell And I started getting a fever. I went to a different dentist the following morning and that dentist said "why on earth wouldn't he have given you an antibiotic?" He flushed the root pocket again and temporary plugged it and sent me home with an antibiotic. He said it looked like there was some infection in my facial tissue now so the antibiotics may not be strong enough, so if fever and swelling continues, go to the ER. The following day, my face swelled more and my fever and pain surged and my eye pretty much was swollen shut at this point so we went to the ER. They immediately took me back and gave me steroids, a CT scan and started vancomycin. I was admitted and held for 4 days at the hospital on high doses of vanc and it was the most miserable experience of my life. Multiple doctors said if I hadn't come in to the er when I did I could've lost my eye or died because I had such severe facial cellulitis from the root canal. After all of that, my family and I went to Kemlage and told him everything that had happened. We asked him to at least pay the hospital bills (over $1000) He refused. The only thing he did was not make us pay for the botched root canal. Photos attached.
