At this new practice it always feels rushed and the treatment reflects that. I've basically begged for help for a year over multiple appointments to deal with teeth pain and bad taste I had around implants. Multiple x rays were taken across two trips from what I recall, and kept being told I was all good. Eventually I had to assume they didn't know what they were talking about or just didn't want to deal with it so I went out for other opinions because they just wouldn't help me get to the cause. And this wasn't severe pain and I wasn't looking for pain treatment, I just wanted to fix the tooth and get rid of the taste I knew wasn't right. After seeing another dentist, an oral surgeon, and a prosthodontist I can assure you there was a lot wrong for quite awhile. Some of these other dentist have much nicer x rays and technology but they said even with older machines it should have been clear. But because I had waited too long to see them I am now looking at implant removal, maybe two of them, and then bone grafts to rebuild and then hopefully a reinstall of implant(s). I'm seeing multiple specialist because some want to pull one implant and some want to pull both because of how bad it got. Then I have to explain I haven't been ignoring my teeth, have been going in for cleaning every 6 months, and have specifically brought up there area in question for over a year and for some reason, the dental professional I put my faith and money into, steered me completely wrong and then wouldn't even return my calls since all this. Don't worry though I paid that last bill you were able to send even though my calls and voicemails were ignored. Do yourself a favor, protect your teeth and your own wellbeing and see someone who has the time, skills, and technology to get yourself treated correctly.

Since I had a full exam within the last 3 years, my insurance wouldn't cover it fully and it cost me $118 for the visit. I'm not upset about this because it makes sense that as a new patient, I would need to establish care and get a full examination. Just make sure to check with your insurance if they will cover a full exam so there aren't any surprises. I only had to wait 10 minutes before being called back by the dental hygienist. She was very kind and explained everything before she did it. She had a soft hand as well. When she was done with my cleaning, I didn't have to wait long to be seen by the doctor. As a patient with minimal dental issues, I had zero complaints about my appointment as a new patient.

I am writing to respectfully follow up, as I have not yet received a response. I am requesting reimbursement for the $300 I paid out of pocket for my recent visit. My concern is primarily the lack of communication regarding the visit being treated as a patient-pay expense. Had I been informed of this in advance, I would have had the opportunity to make an informed decision about whether to proceed with the appointment. I understand that patients with in-network insurance benefit from negotiated rates between their insurance providers and the dental practice. I also specifically asked on August 5 whether a reduced rate could be considered, but I did not receive a response to that question. I believe it is important for patients to be informed of their financial responsibility before services are provided, particularly when a visit will not be processed through insurance as the patient may reasonably expect. In my experience with healthcare providers, insurance information and expected patient responsibility are typically confirmed before treatment. I have been a loyal patient of South Hampton Dentistry for many years and have always valued the quality of care I have received, particularly from your hygienist. Had the circumstances been communicated to me beforehand, I would have been willing to discuss a self-pay arrangement and would have continued receiving care at your practice.
