I was having the worst time getting any mechanics or mobile mechanics to help or respond to request for starter issues for a Ford. Thankfully, Sean called me back a few hours after I left a voicemail (on a Saturday). Drove up from SoCal to Orinda for the weekend and my Subaru started making hellish noises about halfway up. Of course it was a Saturday so no open repair shops. (Except one that had an AI assistant that very politely and efficiently took all the information about my car and then no one ever called back) I found Sean on YELP and he was there in less than an hour. He found the problem right away (some bolts and screws holding the exhaust manifold had worked loose and fallen off). Sean came through for us in a major way after the catalytic converter on our 2014 Prius was recently stolen. The Toyota dealership said it was going to take 3 months or so to get a new catalytic converter given that it's on back order, but Sean was able to work some magic to get ahold of one, and came to us to install it (along with a protective plate) in about a week! I then hit him up twice afterwards to do more work because I sold one of my cars and needed work to be be done right away, he never replied.... He then only replied when I gave a negative review, 3 months later.... Now he is threatening me with a liability case because of the negative review.... LOL, good luck on that you flake.. OMG!!!! Great experience!!! I called Sean about 815 am, and left vmail. About 15 mins later, he called me back! I had a battery issue in my CX-9. I could either get a possible tow, to my favorite shop, and end up paying for tow and battery. Or hire Sean to show up and install it himself? After reading oodles of 5 star reviews, I chose the latter. Wise choice! Sean kept me up to the minute on traffic and estimated time arrival. Showed up when he said he would! I gave him explicit instructions, which he remembered and followed. He installed and bought my battery, for reasonable parts and labor cost! I didn't even have to leave, he completed all in front of me!!! Within ten minutes, it was ready! No wasted time on waiting for tow, and returning to shop after work complete!!! It was rough. 3 days ago, the car would not start. I realized that it was a 2012 battery and they just don't last that long. So, I poked around online to get a mobile mechanic. Sooo yeah. I got a quote on getting my front passenger break done by Midias on San Pablo in Berkeley and they wanted $1,785.67 to do break pads, rotors and calibrators. Yup! I thought they were crazy too. I'm losing my housing and am moving into a small RV/van. They know my situation. They still were willing to screw me over financially. I went on Yelp looking for an honest, fair mechanic and found Sean. He had great reviews so I gave him a call. He came to my house and replaced the rotor and pad (The calibrators were fine!) for a little over $600! Saving me $1,175.67! He is also trying to help me find someone to do the drag link work on it as well and it looks like he can get his mechanic friend to do that for about 1/2 the price that I was quoted by Midias too, saving me an additional $200+. I mean I'm a 56 year old woman, don't know much about fixing vehicles and I'm going to have to be living in this one. Life is stressful enough and I'm feeling pretty vulnerable right now over this housing situation. I'm so grateful for Sean. As a woman it's hard to find a mechanic that you can trust and that won't take advantage of you and when I had called Sean I told him I was having an issue with my starter for my car. The first thing he said was "are you sure it's the starter." I really appreciated that because that showed me he wasn't trying to take advantage of me and wanted to make sure that that the starter was the issue. I wasn't really sure, but after a few people that I talked to told me that the the starter was most likely the problem, I told him "yes," assuming that the starter is the issue. We set up a date and time and he contacted me 24 hours prior just to give me a window of the time he would arrive, and he came within that window. He started working on my car immediately and I want to say it took about 30 or 45 minutes and my car was up and running, so needless to say that I'm ecstatic, very pleased with his work, his manner as he was very respectable the entire time and his price was very reasonable.
