The series is precipitated by the knowledge that I will be moving out of Fullerton next year, which already gives me a sense of loss. So let me tell you why Morningside gets all my stars, and a piece of my heart too. Presumably, if you are reading this entry, then you are a local parent in need of juggling a job and childcare, and, so, are considering Morningside. You might be a new parent feeling some anxiety about giving their child over to teachers and staff who they don't know from Adam. I know that I and my wife did. We made calls. We did site visits. Read reviews. But prepare and research as we might, the idea of handing the kids over--literally passing the children over the safety gate to the Toucans' Class--was something that we managed to keep at a distance until the day came. Now, looking back on that day, which happened years ago, I realize that what I was doing was handing our kids over to some of the most caring, loving women I possibly could, ladies who consistently kept the well-being of our kids at heart. Unlike so many yelp reviews nowadays that rate a business without even patronizing the business, this review is written by someone who has sent two kids through Morningside. To learn to care so much for kids who are, in the end, not your own kids, presents challenges that I've not even fathomed. It is easy to get grossed out when your own kid throws up or soils their diapers. It is difficult for me to contain my anger when I see one of my kids throw objects at the other with intent to harm. I challenge you to take a full minute to imagine the patience and compassion required of you to tend to these and other needs of *other parents'* kids, say, when that other kid gets diarrhea or when he bites you on the forearm. Teachers at Morningside succeed on this score. This is one reason I insist that Ms. Katie and Ms. Katrina, Ms. Erica and Ms. Kay, Ms. Kathy and Ms. Heidi, Ms. Julie and Ms. Amanda, Ms. Jenny and Ms. Kelly get all my stars and, yes, a piece of my heart too. Because they continue to love and care for my kids, and because of how they do this. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart.

My daughter has been going to this school for about a year and she has learned so much. She loves to go to school and always comes home with a smile on. She did not get sick often, I think this is because the teachers keep the place really clean. Very well organized and my favorite part is they serve home made breakfast and lunch and also provides snacks. She eats better at school! She does so many different activities and teachers send photos. She takes good naps at school. She learns both in Korean and English. I am so grateful to find this school and cannot wait to send my son as well. If you are looking for a safe, fun, creative, interactive, clean and educational place this school is highly recommended!

All staff truly love their job and it's clear to see Miss Mickey & Miss Jackie care for their students. The school director, Melissa, is also incredibly helpful, responsive, and kind. I think because all the parents need to be involved in a deeper way than other schools, your child gets the benefit of a whole community of people investing in them. I also appreciate the play-based learning approach. My child started out in the 3 year old class nervous and scared and to see her confidence grow and watch her create friendships have been a true joy. She has learned so much and I'm so grateful for this school!

He has been in Mrs. Stephanie's class since and she is just such a dream! She has nurtured, loved and taught our son so much! He is so happy in her classroom and even thinks of her on the weekends. After only a few weeks at Wilshire he would come home and say "I love Mrs. Stephanie." His words warm our hearts and make us feel so at peace to drop him off everyday. There's no better peace of mind than knowing there is a loving teacher ready and willing to love and teach your child while you are away. Mrs. Stephanie is so creative her classroom is always so beautifully decorated, organized and clean! Her passion for keeping a safe, healthy and happy environment for her students shows. I'm writing this update because I am moved to tears! My son Peyton has been attending since he was…read more8 months old and now he is 5 and his journey at FCA is coming to a bittersweet end as he transitions to kindergarten. From the beginning the love he received from Ms Lupe and Ms Maria was so reassuring in the infant class. The support he has received from the staff has always encouraged his development and hitting all of his developmental milestones. Ms Jabeen has been instrumental in his last year at FCA. She really takes the time to teach the kids and promotes their independence while still providing the comfort that my sensitive boy needs at times. I just received his annual portfolio and report card and the staff really went above and beyond to put this together for us. You can see his art and projects throughout the year in his binder and I can see the progress he has made from the beginning of the year until the end. The director Ms Maggie has been great as well as the teacher assistants. I LOVE Ms Cathy. Actually I love them all! On a separate note, I had a second baby a year and a half ago and I had no hesitation to have him join FCA as soon as I could (8 weeks old) because I knew what great care he would receive with Ms Lupe. He recently has transitioned to Ms Kira's class and is also doing great developmentally. Dongshin Preschool has been such a wonderful place for our family. My son attended for about 3…read moreyears, and my daughter currently attends as well. It truly feels like a one-stop shop for both educational and extracurricular needs, with a built-in, trusted facility that gives parents so much peace of mind. I love the structure, the Korean food, and the overall environment. Nothing about the school feels low-budget -- the programs, facility, events, and daily care all feel thoughtfully planned and well-run. We've also had great luck with the teachers, who have made our experience very positive over the years. Of course, like any school, not every parent will agree on everything, and some may have complaints. But in my opinion, Dongshin has a long waitlist for a reason. The only thing I would love to see improved is offering a bit healthier breakfast and snack options, although I do appreciate that meals and snacks are even included to begin with. Overall, we've been very happy with Dongshin and are grateful for the care, structure, and community they provide.

My 4-year-old son and my 2-year-old daughter had been at a different Korean Christian preschool in…read moreFullerton for the past 2.5 years and after my son moved onto TK, we switched my daughter to Dongshin a few months ago- and we LOVE it. She is in the youngest class for kids aged 2-2.5. There are about 12 students in the class with 2 teachers (6:1 ratio!), which is SO much better than the ratio we had before of 10:1 (teachers seemed overwhelmed at the previous school). Here, the teachers seem to love children and always have something specific and positive to say about my daughter. And if they do have any negative feedback, they say it in such an understanding, gentle way that is easy to receive as parents (we all know how our children can be lol but it's nice when they share it kindly). We also ran into a lot of people we know here at the school and every single person I spoke to sang PRAISES about this school and how much they love it. That says A LOT and my husband and I were reassured we made the right choice in moving my daughter here. We were SO impressed with all the hands-on activities she gets to do during the day, including weekly taekwondo to support children with their hand-eye coordination and gross motor skills, STEM days, sand play, share day, and so many other play-based activities that support their development. For Halloween, they even brought in a petting zoo, a truck/train that was driven around the school, a field trip to the fire station, and a whole barn area for the children to play in. This preschool goes above and BEYOND to love on the children and we could NOT be happier with this school! I also know their TK and Kindergarten classes are packed with students, because parents want to keep their children at Dongshin for as long as possible. I can see why! We also wanted our daughter to improve her Korean and since starting here in September, her Korean has improved SO much! And I love the Bible-based activities they do at the school - I am a firm believer our young children can learn so much about God and faith, and I can tell Dongshin operates under this same belief. At the age of 2, she even brought home an activity that showed the blood of the lamb on the door frames for when God "passed over" the Israelites' home during the final plague in Egypt. Amazing what they teach here! We were thinking about moving our home to be closer to my son's school but decided to stay where we're at mostly because we love this school so much and do not want to move our daughter out. It's so hard to find a trusted preschool for our precious children so we are not letting this place go until she moves onto my son's school! There is a really long waitlist (min. 2 years!) so I'd recommend putting your baby on the list as soon as he/she is born lol it sounds crazy but trust me, everyone wants the best for their children and this is it! I hope you love it just as much as we do! *Note: I was NOT approached by anyone at the school to write this review - we just love it so much and want to spread the news!

They nickel and dime you to death. They will charge you for sneezing in the wrong place. And during the COVID crisis, they are still charging for the daycare hours. They claim to be offering instruction online, but they aren't offering daycare. It doesn't bother me as much, but we know of families with babies in room 1. The videos this place is posting don't help at all. They aren't providing their service anymore and they are not adjusting the room 1 families' tuition. That's just not right. So, we like the treatment our children received here, but I question the ethics of a place that is this much about the bottom line.

Pricing: comparing to the big corp Childtime and all of those, this school is reasonable! I called around many different locations to make sure I understood the going-rate, and for what you get, this is worth every dollar. The teachers care for him with so much love. He is always happy, silly and comes home doing something new after each week at school. The staff is really what makes this experience so special for us -- every single teacher in room 1. Choosing a school for my first born, while battling the tail-end of PPD was so challenging, but I am so happy to say, ivy crest was one of the best decisions I've made for my son and our family.
