I'm writing this update because I am moved to tears! My son Peyton has been attending since he was 8 months old and now he is 5 and his journey at FCA is coming to a bittersweet end as he transitions to kindergarten. From the beginning the love he received from Ms Lupe and Ms Maria was so reassuring in the infant class. The support he has received from the staff has always encouraged his development and hitting all of his developmental milestones. Ms Jabeen has been instrumental in his last year at FCA. She really takes the time to teach the kids and promotes their independence while still providing the comfort that my sensitive boy needs at times. I just received his annual portfolio and report card and the staff really went above and beyond to put this together for us. You can see his art and projects throughout the year in his binder and I can see the progress he has made from the beginning of the year until the end. The director Ms Maggie has been great as well as the teacher assistants. I LOVE Ms Cathy. Actually I love them all! On a separate note, I had a second baby a year and a half ago and I had no hesitation to have him join FCA as soon as I could (8 weeks old) because I knew what great care he would receive with Ms Lupe. He recently has transitioned to Ms Kira's class and is also doing great developmentally. DO NOT SEND YOUR KID HERE. The reason I gave this place a two star instead of one is because of some of the good teachers who are/were there (not sure if all of them are still there). Negatives: I had issues with two staff members: Ms. Kyra (one of the teachers) and Ms. Maggie (the director). Good luck if your child isn't on their favorite list. They think it's funny or you're "too much" when parents share their concerns. In other words, they don't like it if you advocate for your child. If my kid is being mistreated, like any parent, I'll say something. Honestly, we (some other parents felt the same as me) wouldn't be "too much" if you followed through and did your job correctly. Why would any parent need to bother a staff member if they are doing a good job and feel their kid is in good hands? You may hear from us to see how our kid is doing, but that's about it. When my son had Ms.Chami and Ms. Zena, I backed off because I knew he was in good hands, but then after Ms. Chami left and Ms. Zena went on vacation, he was put in Ms. Kyra's hands. Hence my review (I'll provide a specific example towards the end of this review). Also, if your kid wears glasses, watch out. There were 5 incidents that I was aware of where my kid's glasses were messed with. However, it was the last 3 incidents that upset me (there were follow through with the first 2 incident with the good teachers). The last 3 incidents involved the same kid messing with my son's glasses and that kid eventually ended up damaging his frames. If there were follow through with the director (her talking to that kid's parent) when it happened the first time and also the 2nd time, maybe my kid's glasses wouldn't have been damaged. My insider informed me that Ms. Maggie brushed it off each time. By the 5th incident, when the frames got damaged (btw, they were BRAND NEW FRAMES AND LENSES), I was done speaking with Ms. Maggie so I reached out to her boss, Ms. Harshi. Once this happened, some things that should have been done were getting done. For instance, Ms.Harshi reached out to me and confirmed Ms. Maggie spoke to the parents and Ms. Harshi said the school and the parent will take responsibility for the cost of the new frames that we were forced to get since the kid at that school damaged it. It's ridiculous how I had to go this length. Now about Ms. Kyra. Not sure if she had any training, but the way she handled two incidents that I know of, it sounds like she needs training. The example I will provide is to show how transparent I am, just in case they offer the same example and twist my words around if they respond to this review. In the most recent incident (end of July), when I went to pick up my son pretty early one of the days, he was crying. My son got in trouble for pushing another student (yes, I admit, he was in the wrong for this), but like any kid, there is a REASON why he did this. Don't get me wrong, I don't condone that type of behavior but shouldn't a teacher find out why the behavior occurred instead of putting the complete blame on one child? (I heard from other parents, and an insider (person who may or may not work there still) confirmed this is common practice at this place). In other words, even though another kid started the situation, if your child reacts with a negative behavior (like any other toddler would who is learning how to manage big emotions to another negative behavior trying to stand up for themselves), your child will be the one who will receive all the blame. There is no follow-up after the kids calm down about what caused the situation or teaching proper behavior. There is only yelling at the kid who responded to the first kid's negative behavior (and this staff member proudly showed that this is appropriate behavior). Also, if your child cries, your child is called "too sensitive." I only know this because Ms.Kyra said she saw my kid push another kid, so she yelled at him (in other words, saying she was in the right to yell), and then go on to say it's not her fault that he's "too sensitive" for crying because she yelled at him. Regardless of her latter comment, I stayed calm and asked her if she did any of the above (the part about the follow-through with the kids) like any trained educator would do. However, she admitted that she did not and still bothered NOT to follow through with both kids and walked away. I get it. Sometimes the teacher might yell because of the heat of the moment, they are human, but other steps should have been followed up with after the incident.When I informed Ms. Maggie that I thought the situation was not handled properly, she said she'd talk to the teacher, but an insider (a person who may or may not work there anymore) told me that they were laughing at the fact that I was upset my kid was yelled at. UH NO. I was upset at the fact of how the situation was handled. There was no follow through on the teacher's end. Unless there is a staff change, I wouldn't recommend it here. read more

Our time with Kiddie Learning Academy was short but we loved the staff there. We had two kids in their toddler and pre-K, respectively. We instantly noticed a change their attitudes after going for a week. Ms. Jabeen oversees the pre-K class and she was so wonderful with our 4 year old. He wasn't always excited to go to school but once he got there and saw her he was off running. On tough days, she would communicate well with us which helped ease our worries. Ms. Katie took care of our 20 month old and we loved her daily reports on what he ate, when he napped, and what they did that day. Their Covid protocols in place made us feel safe about sending our kids there. Ms. Maggie was always helpful and was clear about what we could expect while the boys were there. I would definitely recommend Kiddie Learning Academy to anyone looking for somewhere to send their kids. read more

My son has been attending FCA since he was about 7/8 months and he is now 13 months! I was a bit hesitant and not sure what to expect since it was my first time having to leave my son, however, they welcomed him with open arms and made him and I comfortable. He is currently in the infant room with Ms. Lupe who is amazing and sweet!! You can definitely feel and see that she has so much love and care for her students. All the teachers and assistants are nice and helpful! They always greet my son whether it's a hello or a goodbye whenever they see him which makes me know that they engage with all the students no matter what age group class they are in. They also provide a daily report so you are aware of what's been done such as: diaper changes, meal times, nap times, etc which helps out! The school itself is very colorful and vibrant which you cannot miss. They have different outside and inside sections for each class: infant, toddler, school age and etc. I really enjoy seeing and having my son be apart of all the fun activities they do! It lets me know they are helping my son grow both physically and making sure he hits all his developmental milestones! My favorite things are seeing all the projects my son comes home with! Love how they are hands on!! They also provide activities for parents as well which makes us feel included and appreciative such as mother and father day appreciation! I also love the fact FCA keeps parents in loop by using an app for communication which they will also post important info and photos so you're able to see what the students are up to. If a situation arises, then it's easily addressed and resolved. Ms. Maggie plays a huge part in making sure FCA runs smoothly and efficiently which I appreciate. Kiddie Learning Academy has a lot of safety plans for the parents and the children. I love the fact that the teachers have a lot of safety routines before they receive their students. Well this week is my daughters 1st week to be in this school. So far I'm liking it. Clean class, clean restroom. I can't comment on teachers yet but they seems really patience & caring teacher. They fact that left a very detail notes about what each kids do every day is A+++ !! We been wanting that kind of school that would give us a report about our kids activity during the day. That's the PROs. The CONs : - Weird class room structure, I got lost in that place on 1st day. - Not enough people in that school. I feels like they need at least 1-2 more teachers. My son was supposed to start child care here on March 16th.. I called kristie to let her know just 2 days ago on my update with Children's Home Society and that my case worker will be calling her within the next couple weeks to confirm. She reassured me my son's spot for March 16. This morning I get a call from my case worker stating she just spoke with Kristie and stated that she said my sons spot was no longer available. When was Kristie planning on calling me to let me know herself that she gave away my sons spot in class even though she just reassured me herself 2 days ago?! So pathetic. read more

My 4 year old has been attending Kiddie Learning, now Fullerton Children's Academy since she was 15 months old. It truly is her second home. The playground is always receiving constant upgrades, the food is nutritious and well prepared daily by Ms. Nessren who loves those children dearly, and the teachers treat the kids as if they are one of their own. Ms. Nilanga has been such a huge influence on my daughter's life. She comes home and talks about her daily. She has learned to write her name, all of her letters, draw shapes, cut with scissors, ID numbers and write them up to 20, complete weekly homework packets to carryover her skill sets and so much more before even entering TK. She is an amazing teacher and gets the children engaged, focused, and also keeps it fun. The school provides snacks and meals daily along with potty training help. Their summer program and holiday themed parties are some of favorite things though. My daughter frequently talks about their Easter egg hunts, luaus, pony rides, and bounce house days. They will forever be in her memories even after moving on to elementary school. Ms. Lupe is the infant room teacher. Ms. Lupe was the teacher when my oldest was 15 months and is still the teacher for my youngest who I had no trouble dropping off at 4 months old. She loves and cares so deeply for those babies. She knows just what they need developmentally whether they are 3 months or 17 months. She is amazing at getting them to sleep and take milk from a bottle. She also has aided in transitioning both of my girls into sippy cups and away from the pacifier (our choice). She documents what they eat, when they sleep and what their diapers were daily. It is nice having that peace of mind in her diaper bag every night. Ms. Maggie is a great director. She keeps a constant flow of communication which we very much appreciate. Any slight issue I've had has always been handled quickly and in a professional manner. Ms Jabeen, the TK/K teacher is also amazing! My oldest would love being her "helper" in the mornings passing out breakfast or papers. She always gives the best and most cheerful morning greetings. I have two daughters who have been attending Kiddie Learning Academy for just over a month now. I found this place after getting a new job and I was nervous about moving my 3 year old from a home daycare to a "school setting" type of environment. In just the 1 month that she's been there I can already tell she's learning so much. She's counting, knowing letters, singing songs when she comes home. Overall I'm excited to feel like she's actually learning and developing while she's there. My 8 month old is also there in the infant care that they have. I truly feel like my little baby is well taken care of and loved by her care givers which offers such peace of mind when having to drop her off when I go to work. Our daughter (1 yo) has just started her first daycare experience and we feel they take really good care of her. My son used to smile and say hi to everyone he saw and he adjusted very well to this school. Then there was a phase where their teachers changed several times within a month. After that month, he now screams and runs whenever someone gets too close (even family). Sometimes the unexpected happens, but it was handled very poorly by the administration and we were not notified of this issue.The only reason I'm giving 3 stars instead of 1 is because some of the teachers there are/were great (I don't know if they're still there). read more

Having your children taken care of outside of the box of family and your own home is scary and a big decision. Who can you trust nowadays!? I visited several daycares in the surrounding areas as well as by my work. I yelped different locations within 15 min radius and found KLA to be my top pick. The owner Miss Harshi & director Miss Marben were both welcoming and answered all my questions and reassured my skepticism. All my worries were set aside that day after meeting them. Did i forget to mention i love yelp messaging. I may have yelped msg Miss Harshi over several days before meeting them. In the beginning i was aprehensive bc they cried when i pulled up the drive way, they cried for like 1-2 min each day but its part of adjustment. slowly after 3 weeks they were waving bye mommie before i even had a chance to say see you later. The teachers are very nice and decreased my fears of leaving my boys. I know they are in good handwhen i go to work. I trust the teachers and the facility. It is clean and well organized. Its been a year that I enrolled my child at KLA. Everything is doing well. I knew then that this school is under new management. My child was 1 of the first new students when they started opening the school to all races. I believe it was a 100% korean school before. At first I was so hesitant to put my child here since we are not korean but I still followed my guts and enrolled my baby. He was 2 yrs old almost 3 back then. I witnessed the school as they grow from using 2 rooms to all 6 rooms. Teachers are amazingly attentive to the needs of the children, well communicated with the director, Ms Marben. My child learned so much academically, and socially. Shout out to all KLA teachers who are so patient, kind and loving. The affection and intention is genuine, that is for sure. My child wants me to pick him up late because he really enjoys the friends and teachers that he has, Ms Kim, Ms Gladis and Ms Jabeen. It is so admirable how Ms Marben know all the kids and the parent's name. I saw her so busy but still has time to play with kids and attend to us mothers. Her office is quite small though, but I guess it's just fine since she's always up and about, cooking in the kitchen, picking up kids and I saw her doing groceries and fixing things too. I don't know if I can do her job. Anyway, overall, the school is very recommendable and a real place of happiness. If I could just make one comment, I hope that Ms Marben won't be covering so much of the classroom especially in the afternoon. Sometimes I don't want to bother her for some questions if she's in the classroom sinceshe's holding a class at the moment. A director should always be available 100% for the parents. Great place for toddlers to learn, play and interact with kids their age. All the teachers here are super nice especially Gladys, Miss C and Miss Quanita. My daughter would always cry but teachers would be patient and helped my daughter stay at ease. She is a lot better now thanks to the team here. She loves to coming here. read more
