My son attended Kids Adventure Learning Center for a year and a half, and I couldn't be happier with our experience. During his time there, he grew tremendously, especially in his social skills and confidence. It was so reassuring to know he was in a safe, nurturing environment every day. The school follows a structured daily schedule filled with engaging, age-appropriate activities that kept him excited to learn. They also offer wonderful enrichment programs, including a weekly soccer coach and a weekly musician, both of which my son absolutely loved. He made great friends, looked forward to going to school each day, and always came home excited to share what he had learned. One of the things we appreciated most was the amazing staff. We are grateful we came across Kids Adventure Learning Center in Fullerton. We looked at two other daycares, similar teaching philosophies and all in Fullerton, before deciding on Kids Adventure. The main reasons we chose Kids Adventure was because of the presentation and amenities of their facility, the warm and kind teachers, and staff we met, and the flexibility when it came to our request for specific accommodations. It will be just about a year that my child attended Kids Adventure, before moving on to a public pre-school through the school district. My child enrolled here at 27 months and there was no wait list to join. She was able to start right away, after all the appropriate forms were completed. The fee was competitive compared to other similar, local daycares and it was a great option to have weekly autopay (no check writing or bringing in cash every week). My child attended twice a week, full days. The directors and teachers were accommodating when we had to adjust her daycare schedule, once she attended pre-school with the school district. They were also understanding and accommodating when we had to adjust the time of when she was dropped off to the facility. During the first few weeks, my child had a difficult time adjusting to a specific nap time and interacting with the other children. The Purple Room teachers let me know of their concerns with nap time and how best to help her transition. I appreciated the concerns and the willingness to help her adjust, so she can get used to a routine. Each day, the teachers summarized her day and I was contacted immediately with any concerns or issues with her (e.g., sick, medical attention, etc.). Whenever I picked up or dropped off my child, I never had issues with parking at their facility. They have a front and back entrance. The back entrance had much more parking than the front. Only time I had to park on residential streets was during the holiday performance, where all the kids performed on one day, within a two-hour time frame. The sign-in and sign-out and pick-up was easy. I do appreciate their monthly calendar of events and the breakfast and lunch menus. At year-end, the were helpful with providing an annual summary of fees paid to their facility (for tax return purposes and dependent care flexible spending account purposes). I appreciated the various events around the holidays that were celebrated. There were Friday pot-luck-type parties for various holidays, and even a holiday performance by all the kids at the daycare. Although my child could not attend picture day, I loved that they offered it. One suggestion is that they should have a make-up picture day for the ones that could not attend. I would have loved to have professional, daycare photos of my child while she attended Kids Adventure. Pros: warm, kind teachers who consistently show they love what they do; accommodating directors; opt-in of text messages regarding various events and even pictures of some of the activities done during that day; clean, inviting facility; ample parking in the front and back; many events throughout the year for the child to participate in; Mother's Day and Father's Day events for the family to participate; thoughtful gifts from your kid around Mother's Day and the Christmas holiday Improvements: Alternate Day/make-up day for picture day; 6-month progress reports for parents (if there are behavioral or learning delays/disabilities); offer a longer time window for the Open-House events, or multiple times during the year for open-house events; checking water bottles more often (few times, my child had an empty water bottle when I picked her up); wiping children's faces more often (child had a runny nose sometimes and most of the times when I pick her up, her face was messy with dried-up snot or dirt) Overall, we are grateful for the staff and teachers at Kids Adventure and very much appreciate the care and attention they gave my child while she was there. Whenever visiting we have always found the center to be clean, organized, and all the teachers and administrators have been very friendly and professional at all times. Someday his water bottle is still ¾ full and when ask teacher if they boy has been drinking water throughout the day, the teach said "Yes". I was wondering why his bottle is till ¾ full? 2. Most of the days he is hungry and asks for food on the way home. I often give him some snack before got home for dinner. 3. Overall: We are contended with this place. Kids Adventure Learning Center is by far the best daycare in North OC. They're open from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., which is better hours than any other facility in the surrounding area and that helps us a lot with our crazy work schedules ! Plus their teachers are all fantastic, they genuinely care about your child and they take great pride in providing a warm, caring environment for the kids. I made a review previously about my first impression. Many years later, I sent my 3 year old son here. My son is happy, articulate for his age, good recognition of words, and vocabulary.... fairly smart, and exceedingly friendly. The Director is friendly, informative, and straight forward. She is trustworthy and an excellent face for this preschool. Most of the teachers are very friendly and warm and kind to the kids and I feel probably in the right field. I think it's a friendly and warm family style environment. All high marks in those area but nobody is perfect. Everybody has pro and con / strengths and weaknesses. My issues are with the lack of intelligent mindful structure, meaningful academic teaching, and inability to communicate and follow parental instructions about their own children. If your philosophy is free and loose upbringing and you are what most would consider a "permissive" liberal parent, then this is a good environment for you. If you're more like me and feel that structure, discipline, and academics is crucial, then in my opinion, you are better off going elsewhere. For my own family, this is not the right place but I do not think this is a bad choice for other people who view upbringing differently. This is simply a personal choice for me and my own. read more

It saddens my heart that Yelper Nickolas M contacted me and said "You're child is nothing but a paycheck". This was my response: No, that's not true. My son grew and matured SO much at KALC. It's been over a year and he still remembers his beloved teachers. When he was there, he has bitten and was bitten as well. At that age, they don't understand how to "use words" to express their frustration. These teachers are trained to understand and help our little ones overcome these obstacles. We as parents need to trust them and LET THEM DO THEIR JOB. When my son left KALC, I was crying because I was afraid that he would never find a teacher that he loved so much. Also, I think that was very mean thing to do to contact a person who positively rated KALC to talk smack. You're entitled to your opinion. I obviously stated mine, Write your own review. My 3 1/2 year old daughter started the school 2 months ago. She goes twice a week. So far, we are loving it. Teachers are super nice and real attentive. The food is "ok" but you get what you pay for in terms of tuition. I'd rather feed them better food when they are at home. the class sizes are small and the teacher to student ratio is ideal. Place is clean and the front office is well organized. The staff is attentive and very responsive. I've seen them deal with "challenging" students and they have a lot of patience. I was peek into the "infant" area and they are always well cared for. And the place smells and looks CLEAN!!! Super important to me. We visited 5 other schools around the area and loved the this school. so far so good. read more

This was my first time ever putting my daughter into daycare and it was the worst experience ever. The staff were nice but I felt like they were EXTREMELY dishonest. My daughter came home several times with her pants and underwear soaked in pee, everytime I would call and ask the daycare why, they would just deny it saying that they can't physically tell if the kids have peed themselves. My daughter never has accidents like this so I really feel like they were just neglecting her or not paying attention because this happened more than three times. She also would come home STARVING several times, so bad that my mom would have to tell me something because i'm in school fulltime and not able to get her myself so my mom would be responsible for picking her up and she would always have food ready for her to eat because of how hungry she would be. It got to a point where I had to pull her out and put her in another daycare and she now attends a new one that she's been going to for a month and not once has she ever came home starving or with pee in her pants. If you don't want your children being neglected I highly recommend not putting your child in this daycare. Kindercare company highly trusted and a way better daycare that I would recommend. read more

We loved everyone there (accept one of the preschool teachers who was continually rude to anyone who wasn't her favorite). My son loved learning Spanish and loved the performances -- and loved how they prepared him a vegetarian lunch. However, they don't typically follow the daily schedule they post, nor do they really follow the weekly learning themes. I was really excited about my Pre-Ker to learn to use the computer -- in one whole year, he used it twice, despite my complaining to the teachers and the director. My son loves doing art outside so I was thrilled when, during the tour, I was told they did outside art almost everyday. In one school year, he only did about 5 outside art "projects". Overall, this is a great daycare -- but it isn't a quality Preschool, nor a Pre-K. read more

I feel the need to provide an alternative opinion to the negative reviews below (2 of which were written by people who didn't enroll their kids). Both of our kids are enrolled at KALC and they're thriving under the teachers' care. What we love about KALC: 1. The homework assignments (3-4 year old and pre-K) build on each other so you can see how your kids are progressing through the year. 2. The craft projects are inventive and incorporate all 5 senses. 3. The facility is excellent. 4. Teacher-parent communication is excellent. The teachers are happy to communicate both successes and struggles. 5. Parent participation is strongly encouraged. I love this because I feel like a part of the school, rather than just a bank. 6. The preschool summer program is excellent, with water play, carnivals, international day, etc. right on campus. 7. Prices are very reasonable. 8. They offer healthy breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snack at no additional charge. 9. The hours (6a-6p) are excellent for working parents. 10. They bus to several nearby schools. We anticipate keeping our children enrolled in the before/after school care through 6th grade. My experience has been that the staff really care about the children. I've sat in on the classes and helped teach the pre-K kids (thankfully only for a couple of hours) and appreciate everything the teachers have to deal with. It's not easy but for the most part they handle their duties with grace. As for the "lax academics" claimed by a previous poster: quality of education is strongly dependent on the individual teacher, as well as the competence of the administration. Our girls were previously enrolled in a NAEYC-accredited preschool, yet I feel they're learning much more at KALC. For example, when I asked about literacy at our last school, a teacher actually told me, "It's the parents' responsibility to teach their children to read." Our last preschool was also (in my opinion) poorly administered, so even though I was paying hundreds more, the enrichment programs didn't come close to what KALC offers. read more

My son attended KALC in 2008 and we liked it so much that we also sent our daughter there. The school is divided into age specific classrooms and an after school program. The teachers are so patient with the kids from infants up to the five year olds. My daughter is currently in the orange room and soon she'll be in kindergarten. Ms Yvette & Ms Rosalia has been preparing the kids for "the big kids school" and I'm pretty sure the transition from pre-k to kindergarten will be a piece of cake. Both of my children attend Kids Adventure Learning Center and we could not be happier here! The teachers are so caring and nurturing. The kids have learned so much being a part of this school. From the infant classroom through to the TK classroom the teachers and classrooms are wonderful. They also have dance classes, tae Kwon Do and soccer from ages 2-5. In addition the 4 year olds are being taught Spanish! My daughter is ready for kindergarten next year, because of the program at Kids adventure. My children have attended Kids Adventure Learning center for about 2 years now in the Infant classroom and preschool classrooms. I have been so thankful for their loving, kind, generous staff. It was hard at first to leave my children, this being their first experience with childcare, but the Director and teachers made me feel so welcome and comfortable. My preschooler has learned so much, he even comes home telling me the new words he learned in Spanish as they have a Spanish Language program in his Pre-K classroom. I see his work come home and I'm so grateful for the time the teachers have spent with him on his writing skills, and math. He can now read small site words as that is another skill they work on every week in his Pre-K class. Another helpful thing for my family is their meal program, some schools we toured had a lot of unhealthy options, or you could bring your own lunch, but as a working parent I am so thankful to know my kids are being served healthy, appropriate meals and there was no extra fee for this service. Their afternoon extra-curricular programs are a favorite of my 4 year old, he loves Soccer with Coach Jeff and Tae Kwon Do also! I believe they also have dance lessons offered. I would highly recommend Kids Adventure Learning Center to any parent. Their combination of academics, safety, cleanliness, and most of all love for the children the best combination. read more

Kids Adventure is wonderful. Clean and air conditioned with a shady outdoor space. The teachers are loving and attentive. Since enrolling my 3 year old son, he has learned songs, how to stand in line, how to negotiate new friendships, how to wait his turn, how to clean up after his activity is done, how to preform in front of an audience at the school holiday performance, how to eat the same nutritious food as the group at lunch and how to clear his plate after eating. This is just the tip of the iceberg. He also now write his alphabet and numbers. I love that he still naps at school and gets 2 big recesses outside to run and be rowdy. He also gets music lessons, dance lessons and Tae kwon Do lessons. I ask him everyday what his favorite part of the day was. He answered, "Everything. I like everything." Ive been bringing my 3 yr old daughter for 3 weeks now, M/T/W 830am-330pm-ish. She has had a rough time adjusting to being away from me since I've been home with her full time all 3 years. Miss Wendy and Miss Jessica are always so nice and have been so patient with my daughter. I haven't really had the chance to meet her other teachers because I mainly drop her off and my husband or my mom picks her up, but they both have said great things about all the teachers. My daughter has separation anxiety and cried every morning I drop her off, but I always leave in peace because I trust she is good care. I was referred by a close friend of mine and although I was skeptical about a preschool/daycare this place has been great to us. Its clean, the kids look happy and the teachers are all very involved. I am grateful my friend found this place and told me about it. Price is reasonable and they are flexible with our schedule. Leaving your baby/toddler/child is NEVER EASY, and I cried the first week I dropped off my daughter but I know it will get better. Despite my daughter crying at drop off, she has not said anything bad about her school. She says she has fun and her teachers are very nice, but cries because she misses me. We were initially really excited to find this school for our 3 yo. Unfortunately, it didn't work out. The school is not nut-free, which is fine, but they won't administer an epipen to students, not with known allergies, prescription, doctor's note, etc. They couldn't get rid of us fast enough once they learned about the allergy. It's infuriating, and I'm pretty sure what they're policy states isn't legal. At least we got our deposit back, which is the only reason I gave them 2 stars. read more
