Absolutely horrendous. Customer service representatives on phone lines cannot even forward you to the SEARS billing department nor their own supervisors. They are hopeless. Way overcharged for less than 30 minutes of repair work. $99 diagnostic fee ridiculously high when problem is clearly already known by homeowner and pointed out to service technician upon arrival. I have a number of issues with my recent experience with Sears appliance repair. I have called nearly daily and three times I have been promised a supervisor would call me back, which hasn't happened. I requested a call back from billing and haven't received that call either. I called our local branch and waited on hold until the call was disconnected. My repair was on 3/11. Our dryer was failing to complete dry cycles, incorrectly regulating temperature, and not accurately sensing wetness of the load. The technician came out, noticed the heating element was physically damaged, and replaced this part. He turned the dryer on for less than 20 seconds to confirm his fix worked. The next day, my husband attempted to dry a load of laundry. The time remaining started at 1:30, then immediately went to 1:29, 0:01, and shut off. Additional subsequent attempts to run the dryer proved we are having the exact same issue with failure to regulate temperature and detect moisture correctly. The technician seemed rushed and I can see on my receipt he included the wrong brand of dryer (Admiral - we have a Samsung) as well as an incorrect diagnosis ("not heating") AND he fraudulently signed on my behalf. Our refund request is continually denied as Sears insists we need to schedule further repair - which, given the age and price of our dryer, makes absolutely no sense. read more

I wish I could give them zero stars. This is the worst customer service I have ever dealt with in my entire life. The first person that came told me that he couldn't fix my issue and I had to order a new part and someone else had to come fix it... that cost me over $100 plus $150 for the new part. Then the new person told me he had come and I wasn't home, he never contacted me or even walked into the building to talk to the doorman, he just took a picture of the outside of the building and left. And of course, I was charged for that. Now I have been on hold 5 different times today just trying to get a refund. Not one person has been helpful or even led me in the right direction. On November 30, 2021, Sears Home Services sent a technician to repair my GE refrigerator.  Even though I gave the make and model of refrigerator, the person who came appeared to know nothing about my model.  He randomly poked at it and declared the control panel was "fried".  He did no diagnostics.  I asked why he thinks that and he basically said that's all it could be.  His so-called diagnostics was that it needed a new control panel for a cost of over $900.  I declined that but had to pay the $99 diagnostic fee. By the way, the refrigerator started working again several hours later.  I don't know why it shut itself down but the control panel was clearly not fried.  There were no power surges when it happened.  It was working fine before this incident and, since it started again, it's been working fine. read more

I have a older (15 year) stove and just the broiler element needed replacing. The repairman showed up as schedule, but proceeded to advise me that a replacement would cost $500+ -- in which $319 was for "labor". A few years ago I had the broiler element replaced (before Sears went out of business) and the part was $106.81 and the labor cost was $135.20. I'm not sure if the labor price quoted today was inflated because the Technician wanted to earn more money for an easy job, or if he lacked the skill to complete the job and wanted me to the decline the service (which I did). I agree with Gail C. (12/12/2023). We have used Sears twice now, once for a Kenmore washer (last year) and the service person was great. Happened to have the part on hand and fixed the washer in fairly short order. Second time was Monday, December 11, 2023 and David, our repair person, diagnosed the problem with our KitchenAid oven, ordered the necessary replacement part (it arrived in four days), and scheduled follow up service to install the replacement part, which should have been today (December 18, 2023, sometime between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM). Close to noon, I received a message that the service call would need to be rescheduled - for the following Tuesday, December 26. Half my day wasted for no good reason. We will be out of town the week of December 26 and wanted to reschedule. That's when the nightmare began. Called the number listed at the top of their home page and was guided through the options. I was told (via the AI bot) that my December 26 appointment was confirmed and given the option to either cancel or reschedule. When selecting the option for rescheduling, I was rerouted to the message confirming my December 26 appointment, This circle jerk could have continued forever. Online chat was not much different. I was given a series of dates for the last week in December, and when I elected to reject all of them, I then selected the option to schedule further out. I was then give the same last week of December dates. Another circle jerk. Further, the email I received concerning my December 26 appointment has a link for cancelling or rescheduling my appointment, That link takes me to the page detailing my appointment - with absolutely no way, other than chatting with the AI bot, to cancel or reschedule. With no way to either talk with a human or to even email, this service is a giant screw up. Seriously thinking about cancelling my service contract. Unless and until they can provide reasonable customer service interaction, I cannot recommend this service, which is unfortunate since the service people with whom I have dealt are very good. read more

I'm writing this review in behalf my 82 year old father. I could give Ryan H a NEGATIVE 5 star I would. Ryan H came to my father's house to diagnose a problem with the refrigerator. He allegedly diagnosed the issue and corrected it. ONLY 1/2 way thru the process did he disclose to my father that he was going to bill him $369.95 for 45 mins worth of work. Ryan you must disclose to the customer the amount PRIOR to beginning any work. You failed to do that. Not only that YOU went ahead and signed the receipt in his behalf which he did NOT authorize you to do so since was present at the house. I paid 50.00 to have annual Dryer Maintenance done. You know, cleaning, etc.... Dryer worked perfect BEFORE the so called pro-active annual Maintenance. Went to use the Dryer this morning for the first time, all of the lights on the Dash came on, but the Dryer would not start. After 3 hours of multiple Phone calls getting disconnected, transfers since no one wanted to assume ownership for it, Sears refused to honor or come out to see if they left anything disconnected in error and mandated a 127.00 Service call fee to come out again. MY Husband opened up the Dryer and sure enough the Dryer Door Switch and Magnetic Door Sensor Cables were unplugged. You have to ask if they did this on purpose to get another few hundred dollars out of us. They repaired our Washer at the same time which cost hundreds to repair. Also the Technician sold us a Sears Home Appliance Warranty for 50.00 which covers ALL of our Appliances and neglected to tell us that after taking our money for said Home Warranty that it does not go into effect for 30 days after purchase. THIS COMPANY IS THE WORST, AND I WOULD RATE IT A "0" IF THAT WAS AN OPTION! I scheduled an appointment for a technician to repair a refrigerator that stopped cooling. I called on Friday, and scheduled an appointment for the following Monday. When the technician came, he had a bad attitude and left immediately when we would not agree to pay him $119 before he did any work after I had already given the company a credit card to pay for the diagnostic. He subsequently called back, tried to make excuses for his attitude, and asked if he could come back. I let him come back, and he claimed to have fixed the refrigerator by replacing the compressor, which was under warranty. I was charged almost $700 for "labor," which is absolutely ridiculous. Unfortunately for me, the refrigerator never started working, and I have repeatedly attempted to have this company come back out to repair the refrigerator. The next appointment that I got was for the next Saturday morning. I waited all day for the technician, who never arrived and who ultimately cancelled the appointment at about 6:00 pm. I called on Saturday evening after the cancellation and and got another appointment for today (Monday). The technician called and canceled today because he said the appointment was scheduled as a "new" appointment instead of a "recall" and if he came and I refused to pay the $119 diagnostic fee, he would just leave. I have called this company at least three times today to try to get a "recall" appointment, but have been told that the appointment could not be scheduled until the technician officially cancelled the appointment. I have now been without a refrigerator for more than a week with no end in sight. If Sears Home Services does not make this right, I will be disputing the $700 charge I have paid and then scheduling an appointment with a "real" appliance repairman that can diagnose and fix the problem. Even though I have clearly expressed my dissatisfaction everytime I call, they have the nerve to end every call by asking if I would be interested in purchasing a home warranty . . . Please! Still not repair since October 4, 2023 over a month that my fridge has been out of service, even with my 3-yr master protection service agreement for my Kenmore fridge in Germantown, MD. I've been without a fridge for 33 days and since counting. The keep scheduling, technician won't show up, no call no show, then they reschedule. It's been a living hell trying to get service. Worst still you go round in circles trying to speak to a customer service agent who has no direct access go technician. Don't use Sears appliance repair, their response is terrible and it's impossible to get a live person on the phone. We have a Kenmore dishwasher that needed repair. We made an appointment, the technician came out and decided it needed a new control panel. He ordered the part, and set up a follow-up appointment to install it. The part arrived on time, but the technician never showed up for the follow-up. Calling Sears to find out what happened puts you in a black hole of electronic menus, with NO opportunity to speak to a representative. Even the 'reschedule' option is handled completely electronically, and their 'window' for technicians is 8 AM to 5 PM. That means you may have to be home literally all day, and pray the technician actually shows up. Never again. read more

Once confirmed I could only find information on inspecting this and inspecting that for $169.00. I tried calling every number for this service and was never able to get a live person to ask if this was really maintenance or just a fee to show up. Well, it's a bait and switch! The tech showed up, very nice man, but told me he wasn't there to do anything but inspect the mower and tell me what I needed done to it. He would then perform the maintenance for an extra fee. I have paid $400+ a year for Sears Home Services for the past several years and usually service is good. However, we have recently submitted a service repair request on March 14th. A tech was sent out on March 18. He did not have the parts to repair and said he had to order them. The appt was rescheduled for March 27 to do the repair but no parts came until March 29 so they rescheduled our apppt for March 30 without a single phone call or ask of us and then did NOT show after waiting from 8-5. They rescheduled again for April 3 without a single phone call or ask of us. So 20 days later 2 new techs came and while they were great, they said we can't fix this, this needs 5 parts to fix, not 3 and we are showing these 2 extra parts as not available. So now the process is 21 days for us to search for the parts. If we find them, they we fix it. If not, it will be esclaated to management. From that time on, I have gotten the run around between Sears Home Warranty telling me, THEIR CUSTOMER, I have to call A&E Factory Services who is actually finding the parts and fixing the machine. WHen I call A&E Factory they tell ME that I have to call Sears Home Services. It has now been 57 days and no resolution. I called on April 3 and Rosalie told me 21 days for a resolution but she would expedite this to 48-72 hours. I called on April 8 and spoke to Philipe and he said it would take 21 days for a resolution and it was not esclaated. I got the back and forth again between the 2 companies. On 4/23 I called again and go put on hold for 30 min+ 2 different times and hung up on and then I called a 3rd time and reached Carlos and he would escalation to management. I called on April 30th and they once again asked me if I had received parts!!!!!!!!! which are no longer available Carlos said he would escalatioe to management and get me an email with 24-48 hours with options to replace or have a check and I was told realistically it would take 7-10 daus tp receove the option sy by May 2nd or May 7th! On May 8th, I spoke to andrew, same thing, have you received the parts!!!!! which are no longer availale, he had no record of any escalations. FINALLY he gave me a supervisor Brandy, who seemed nice and called A&E Factory while I was on hold for over 30 minuts and kept checking on me, but by the time A&E Factory answered Brandy had droppd from the call and I was left asking A&E Factory once again for an authorization form stating the parts are no longer available so that Sears could issue me the email fi I want the washer or not. A&E said they sent on on April 24th (WHEN THEY SHOULD HAVE that was 21 days), but Sears has no record of it, so now it will take anoher 72 hours for the TECHNICIAN to send the form again. OMG! It is now 57 days and I still hvae NO RESOLUTION. WHat a 3 ring circus!. While the techs "might" be good who come into the home to service things, the people on the phone are reading scripts, are completely useless, do not make the phone calls to A&E on behalf of their customers (I am the sears custoemr). I reached out to Sears to repair our dishwasher that went kaput! Booked the appointment 3 1/2 months ago and after 5 appointments, two no-shows, two unexpected charges for parts that turned out to be wrong, $150 more than was bargained forwaiting around 3 times five hours each and still a broken dishwasher, I am furious! Sears initially said they'd fix my dishwasher for$150 with a $50 deposit and $100 the next visit. Well, that was five visits back! The technicians sent were unprofessional. Twice the technician arrived without appointment, Twice parts were ordered and left uninstalled, twice parts were ordered and charged to me that were not a part of the original deal. The tech showed up and didn't know how to fix the dishwasher and used a catalog to try to figure things out. Another time the tech arrive 40 minutes after time scheduled and said he was still at lunch and gave no apologies to us abut it. The last appointment today was the worst because I was issued a $200 invoice saying service for the dishwasher was complete when he never even crossed my doorway. I am so disappointed in sears and although customer service issued a 1000 apologies every time, they have done nothing to fix the problem or reissue is our money. read more

I have had an appointment with Sears Home Repair for 5 weeks now. Sears Home Repairs has changed my service date now five times! I have a husband that works as I do plus two children in school. No washer for five weeks! I can't talk to a person. All I get is automated calls. This is absolutely unacceptable! I have a Master Agreement Protection that I paid good money! I am given a time 8-5, then they change 8:30-1:54, then 2:17-3.54, then 4:09-5:39 then 5:24-6:54 PM. That as just today! The other service days are the same. Then I get a notice my appointment has been changed to a new day! This is totally unacceptable Sears Home Repair!!! I would NOT recommend Sears Home Repair to anyone at this time! If you have a service agreement I highly recommend you find someone else! Oh, I almost forgot the repairs will replace the entire inside of my washer, drum, agitator, even the fabric softener dispenser cup, etc. 13 parts. $823.51 including labor. I can buy a new machine for that kind of money! I guess if Sears Home Services can replace every part then they won't replace the machine! What a joke! sears home service does honor their warranty agreement. I called for service repair twice.On 9/15/2022 I called for service. Technician was sent for repair 9/27/2022. problem was never diagnosed. All service were to be covered under warranty. Now their trying to charge me $89 for repairs. All service was to be covered by warranty from first service call on9/27/2022. I want to give you a big fat zero. I was schedule for a repair through my home warranty company. My appoint was for 3/3 acc 1p-5p. My time window came and went. I called at 530p to be told that tech has dispatched. I called again at 630p and was told tech is delayed and you are next. Yeah from a dispatch to you are next. I call at 730p to be told tech said you were not home. Really that is really interesting due to have a motion light and a doorbell camera. Tech never came. PLUS I NEVER GOT A CALL FROM THE TECH STATING HE/SHE WAS ON THEIR WAY. All you are going to do is tell me that we will investigate. For what that does not get my dryer fixed today now does it. NOPE NOT AT ALL. Now they are telling me we have no available appointments till 3/8. 5 days later. Then the rep Mia would not stop talking. I had to tell her over talking like you are doing is not making this matter better at all. I need you to really shut up do not talk until I finish what I am saying. We had an appointment to get our refrigerator repaired today from 1:00-5:00. At 4:50 I contacted customer service for a status update. They said the tech would arrive at 6:30. Then at 5:00 I got a text that he was on his way. No ETA was given. At 5:10 I got another text that he had missed us and rescheduled us two weeks from now. We never got a text that he was here. I immediately contacted customer service and was told the tech left the area and could not return. Clearly this guy did not want to work beyond 5:00. What a waste of time. I rarely leave reviews, but I received such horrible service that I felt compelled to do so. Caveat - I can also speak to Sears Home Services (they also go by "Cinch Home Services" and "Home Sure") in the Northern Virginia/D.C. area. STAY AWAY! For over a month I've been trying to get my washing machine repaired. The initial tech who came out said that two different parts were needed and placed an order for the parts. The parts came in the mail about a week later and then I had to contact them to schedule a time for a technician to come out and make the repairs (no one bothered contacting me). A technician came out a few days later and then abruptly (and rudely) left about 5 minutes after arriving, as he claimed that this was a two person job that he could not do alone (not my problem- Sears should have arranged for two techs to come out). After I called again to have someone come out to do the repairs (again, no one bothered contacting me), the technician who came out informed me that the wrong part was ordered and said that he would order the right part. A part order was supposedly placed but two weeks went by with no word from Sears. After calling Sears a countless number of times to get an update (once again, no one bothered to update me), I was finally told that the part is not available and that my claim would be "escalated" to determine the next steps (which would involve either replacing the machine or providing funds towards a replacement). I was told to check back within 72 "business hours" for an update (though I was also told that someone would reach out to me). I called back within that timeframe and the agent I spoke to seemed to have no record of the recent developments (she told me that they were still looking for the part!) and once again I was told that my claim would be escalated and that they had up to 72 hours to get back in touch with me. Sears is clearing pulling out every trick in the book (such as the classic "stall/delay" tactic) to avoid providing the services that they agreed to provide. If they aren't going to treat customers fairly and fulfill the services they claim to provide they really should just go out of business. No company that treats customers this way should be allowed to operate. If I had my way, I'd shut them (and many other similar companies) down. So many of them are completely unethical and deceptive. So if you've had problems with Sears Home Warranty I encourage you to contact your state Attorney General's office or State Corporation Commission to file a complaint. There is no way to hold this company accountable if you don't speak up. read more

Unbelievably bad. Original technician was scheduled for a 10 hour window. When he arrived and found the problem, he didn't have the parts (which is why I contacted Sears in the first place, and gave them the model, make, and serial number. Parts arrive four days later and they schedule a follow up for 11 days after that. I rescheduled, and was given another 10 hour window today. No one came, but they rescheduled for two days later -- saying that no one was home (but I was sitting working with a view of the front of the house the whole time). My home warranty had them come and fix my refrigerator and the mechanic damaged it even further. I put in a damage claim and they have not responded to my calls, messages, and today I was on hold for an hour with no response. Their mechanics are inexperienced and not knowledgeable, and they will damage your appliances and leave you to have to buy a whole new one. There is a reason Sears is struggling to stay open. My washer was leaking. I called sears without doing a search online (what a mistake), assuming the sears name should not be a fraud. They sent a guy checking, charged me more than $120, he did not find out what was wrong. I called sears, they sent another guy, he claimed to have found the problem, asked me to order a part, and he will come to repair, charged me another $190. He came to "repair" and claimed that the problem was fixed. It was not, the washer was still leaking and if there is any change, the leaking problem became worse. After learning about the one star rating basically everywhere on sears home services and many horrible stories about sears, I did not bother to call Sears to fix the problem. I consider the more than $300 wasted a lesson learned. But, I am just asking, is there any law firm interested in initiate a class action against Sears? I suppose thousands of people have been scammed by sears, not to mention the trouble and anger caused by this scam. Sears Home Service is a JOKE...do not use and we do NOT recommend. The experience with this company was worthless. Started with an appt to repair the good ole Samsung ice maker issues-VERY WELL KNOWN issue! However this company, techs, employees clueless. It asked us to input the details, model, make of the refrigerator and somehow this was changed to some unknown name (my believe is so that it wouldn't be covered under the Samsung known issue warranty). The 1st of 3 appts started on Nov 27th 2023. After multiple 8 hour days waiting for the tech to show-he had no clue, was unprofessional and lacked knowledge of the known issue. He had us order parts this company and his vehicle did not have stocked (although these details of you recall were loaded I to their database). Tech came back to install and was unable to get the ice maker apart, then told me I had to make another appt (another 8hr window to wait for him) to try again. At this point we opted to cancel and ask for a refund to ship the ordered parts back. Today it is Feb 23rd, 2024 and we have yet to receive our refund for these items that we have tracking were received back to them over 30days ago. This company is a joke and totally unreliable and shady! We had a double oven go out and we had a consultation scheduled for a Saturday morning. A few days before our appointment was scheduled it was changed without any warning or confirmation on our part to a day we were unavailable. After numerous attempts to call and speak to someone we finally got it rescheduled for another Saturday a few weeks later. Fast forward to the day of the consultation, we were informed by the technician that a part could be ordered and fix our oven. We agree, pay, and set a date for the repair. The day of the repair my wife and I were at work so our daughter lets the technicians (this time 3 of them) in and they work. When they leave my oven still isn't working and then I ended up with scratches all over the front end of my oven. When we call and text the tech that just left our house we were ghosted. We tried calling the customer service line and they somehow cannot find our account information. Very suspicious! Didn't repair it correctly, ran out and ghosted us, respond to messages or phone calls, and suddenly they can't find our account information. STAY AWAY FROM CALLING THEM TO FIX ANYTHING. they are very difficult to get ahold of. I am going to post this in as many places as I can to let people know to avoid this company. Use someone local or bite the bullet and buy a new one! read more
