All I can say is don't buy a Sears Home Warranty; you will be very sorry. I was sold one by a Tucson Sears Repair Technician when he came to my home. I paid $599.88 for a year and was told a packet would arrive by mail. No further contact was received. I have tried to contacting Sears Home Warranty to cancel the plan that I was unable to use. To make it short I have been calling for 2 months and at times, have waited over an hour with no answer. I have left my # many times for a call back but have never received one. I finally got through and got a very snotty agent and when I asked for a supervisor the agent told me it would be least 3 days before I would receive a call back (No Call Back). Today 2.5 months later I decided to take my afternoon and wait it through because Sears was getting away with ripping me off. I finally got through, canceled this ridiculous warranty but had to pay a $52 cancelation fee which I had to pay upfront in order to process the refund. After I put the $52 on my card, I was told that I would only be refunded $499.88 of the $599.88 I originally paid. To dispute this, I was transferred 4 times to different departments, with no luck and finally ended up in a department where I was rudely told there was nothing that could be done, and I was being charged $99 for the 2 months that I could not use the warranty. I again asked for a supervisor and was told it would be 24-48 hours and I could not wait to personally speak with one CLICK. Total phone time 1 hour 25 min. So, I will have to chalk this up to a scam. I can't imagine their service if I had to really make a claim. We will see if the $499 is actually refunded but as of now I am out a total of $651.88. Stay clear of anyone selling a Sears Home Warranty. read more

My Kenmore fridge stopped being cold due to a compressor issue. The technician, Steven J., was a highly skilled expert, who worked with excellence and care. He is the kind of person you want ANYtime you need something fixed right the first time. What I appreciated about Sears home services specifically was the tracking option for when the technician would arrive. I wish the window of time given initially would have been smaller, instead of an all day window, but in the morning, the day of, the tracker was helpful and accurate, and kept a very narrow window of time when to expect the technician to arrive. read more

Steven was supposed to CALL me 30 mins. out (not text or email) per First American Home Warranty Co. Instead he calls me at the house at 10:30 AM. I was 10 mins. away and he refused to wait. I even offered to remotely open the front door. In addition, Sears email stated he had 5 stops ahead with an estimated arrival at 1:30 PM. What are we supposed to do? He was more interested at getting home early rather than hang out for 10 mins. to accommodate me. This speaks volumes about someone's work ethic. HORRIBLE customer service! Good luck contacting them if you are due a refund. Unable to get a human person....always recorded messages or an uninterested, incompetent person who lie to you or transfer you to another worthless recording that leave no option to address your problem. I would give him a ten if it was possible. He is so much older than me, in respect, but the way he could just sit and work with his legs crossed sitting on the floor. That would be impossible as l am only 60. Hope he gets a raise on how he does and so fast to fix my dishwasher. I was going to do it as watching you tube. So far so good. The technician showed up and was very courteous and knowledgable. He diagnosed the problem with our washer very quickly and called the home warranty company to give them the information on what would be required for the repair. Now lets see what the warranty company does with it but two thumbs up to the repair tech. read more

I don't understand why when an 8-5 time is estimated, the tech doesn't show up until 4 pm. Can't the estimate be more precise so a customer need not stay at home all day? read more
