Never thought that Sears would "rip off " senior citizens but they did it to us!! First technician did not find any leaks in our washer but never really opened the washer machine to find out. So we had to have a second visit but this technician did a search and found the problem. We were charged $156.17 for the first visit and $294.71 for the second visit. So don't fall for the 90 day service guarantee it isn't true!! So it cost 2 old people on a fixed income $450.88 for a part that cost $32.61 that should have been replaced on the first visit!! Called Sear's Home Service Supervisor and was told...to bad! We will file a complaint with Consumer Protection and BBB. I never ever thought Sears would "rip off" old people! read more

Technician was great and efficient. However, the service was a problem. The first visit was diagnostic, and they needed to order a part. The technician did not show up for the second appt and no one called me to explain or reschedule. For the third appt, the technician could not complete the repair because he needed a helper, which the service forgot to schedule. On the fourth visit, they finally got the job done. John E. technician ID 0911222 never showed up at my house and turned in a fraudulent receipt with fake signatures on it. This technician has done same kind of stuff at two of my other properties. I have reported him to A&E factory service and First American Home Warranty. This is fraud what this tech is doing. Absolutely terrible and dishonest. read more

The technician, Wayne, was great. I have no complaints there. The customer service from corporate, not so much. I waited 3 weeks to have my dryer repaired. The initial visit took about 2 weeks to even happen because they were scheduling so far out. After scheduling the follow-up visit (when the part was to be installed) they called me 2 business days before he was to come (and the day my parts were delivered) to reschedule the appointment because "the technician won't be in your area." He was the one who scheduled the appointment with me initially, so essentially they just overbooked him and I had to wait longer because of it. read more

BEWARE - Charged Too Much and BAD Service - - I have a GE fridge/freezer and the fridge is not getting cold. A repairman fix a fan problem approx. 2+ yrs ago. I called Sears and they sent a repairman out. He confirmed it was a fan problem and was going to charge near $400 labor. The previous repairman removed and installed a new fan in 35-40 mins. Sears labor is near $400 for a 40 min job. The $400 does not include the part-fan. Also, it was raining outside and the Sears technician did not bring booties and obviously didn't give a 'squat' about my house. read more

The customer service reps on the phone were AWFUL. I spoke with 13 people in 2 weeks trying to resolve multiple service issues after they cancelled multiple appointments with no notification. There were massive communication issues and I had to explain my situation to every single rep when I called in. There were broken promises of calls back from supervisors, attempts to double charge me, reps who blamed me for the cancellations, and it took 4 attempts to get the correct contact information listed so I could actually log into their portal, confirm appointments, etc. The technician was nice, however, and took time to explain all of the repairs, warranties, and options. I also felt the appointment window of 8:00Am to 5:00pm was too broad. It's understandable that the tech might not know how long each stop will be, but they need more reps to shorten the window for those of us who have to take time off of work. read more

it says he arrived to my house and never did called sears to find out it was rescheduled for monday after receiving confirmed appointment for today and that he arrived.. i should have never had to call sears to find this out they should have called me i am very unhappy since i took off work to make sure someone wS there this is unexceptable.. That service repair man didn't show up to my house for the appointment. But Peter did and he was wonderful he tried several times to pair my washing machine control board to my washing machine but it wouldn't save his settings. He also found out other possibilities that could be wrong with my machine. So Peter I'd give . But I never saw that repair man because I was supposed to have two people because I have a stackable. If he is as good as Peter or if he was the guy helping him troubleshoot the issue then I will change my star rating for that man.I'm hoping Thursdays appointment I will finally have a working washing machine. FYI my washing machine has been broken since November 2,2023 and here we are in February 20,2024 and nobody has been able to fix it so I've had alot of appointments to have it fixed but Sears keeps sending me one repair person and the job takes two repair people because I have a stackable. read more

Quickest response. Actually had ref compressor on truck and replaced it right then in house. Very professional and explained everything. Took care of factory warranty on compressor and only paid labor for the install as the first year of labor coverage had expired. read more

Terrible repair service. I had them repair an oven. Two days later, we tried to use and the oven started smoking and displayed an F10 error. Sears cam back and said unit needs replaced. They had no problem charging me $270 for parts that either did not fix issue or caused worst issue. BEWARE of Sears. read more

Once again in January 2018, excellent service on the repair of our clothes washer under our service agreement. It's a 10 year old, heavy duty, well made, worth keeping and repairing machine. They do not make them like this one any longer. I am glad to have Protection Agreements on my appliances. Sears always responds promptly. I am assured that my protected appliances will always be running and repaired quickly. I really enjoy the annual inspections, especially for the clothes dryer that can collect lint in places I cannot access. That's safety in preventing possible fires due to excess lint. I highly recommend Sears Proteciton Agreements for appliances. Saves money and brings security. read more

Chris arrived on time and was quick to begin work. He was friendly and knowledgable. (It helped that our usually curious dog knew immediately that he was a dog person). He fixed the dishwater and ran it thru its cycles and was on his way. Overall, a great experience and I highly recommend him. read more

SEARS Appliance Repairman came on time as advertized. Was very courteous. Got right to work. Ruled out one problem. Uncovered another. Fixed it lickety split! Washer's spin cycle is much quieter. GREAT JOB! read more

I would NOT recommend using Sears for repairs. I would not give them any stars, but Yelp requires you at least give one to post. The technician was so negligent we may have been killed. Our oven was leaking gas, so we scheduled to have the oven repaired through Sears. The technician replaced the bulb in the oven, claiming it was not heating properly. While the technician was still present, we turned the oven on and still smelled something. We asked him to use a meter to check to see if it was still leaking. He claimed he could not smell anything. We said we could and could he please check. He said it was just the bulb heating and that there was no problem. After he left, we called Columbia Gas to check the leak and they informed us the oven was leaking carbon monoxide. We called Sears and requested a refund for the service. We were told that we would be refunded for the part, but that they would file a dispute for the diagnostic fee and someone would be in touch within the next 48 hours. No one called, so we called back. This time we were told we would not be refunded for the part or service. We filed another dispute and again no one got in touch with us. We called again and had the same experience. I called the corporate office and left a message for Edward Lampert's team (CEO) on April 25 and received no communication. Tonight, I received a voicemail from someone named Ashley and was asked to call the customer service line again. I did and no one knew who Ashley was, she had not left any notes in our file, and there was no way to get back in touch with her. I spent another 1:30 on the phone with customer service only to have them tell me that there was nothing they could do. I am appalled at the level of service not only from their technician but also customer service. read more
