My dear friend and I stayed in one of the detached cottages and had the best experience! The location is super close to all the local restaurants and nightlife, everything is just a quick golf cart ride away. Golf carts are available to rent nearby, but my friend and I got lucky and linked up with some of the locals and they were kind enough to let us ride around with them while they showed us their beautiful island. The locals are very hospitable and make it a point to show visitors a great time. As for the cottage itself, everything was super tidy and presentable. The kitchenette comes in clutch for folks that maybe want to cook a meal or two for themselves opposed to spending tons of money at restaurants. Also, my friend and I were very impressed by the service we received. My friend accidentally forgot her bathing suit in our cottage after we were checked out and well on our way home, so we called up the office and they very thoughtfully let the bathing suit dry out and offered to ship it to her home. 10/10 recommend! read more

We stay at the Seashell village resort every year for the last 7 years or so. once ownership has been changed it went downhil. Our suite had one tv in the living room and it never worked. we came here to enjoy our weekend and watch spurs playoff game. tv had no signal. the front desk just said: oh well, this is on provider. the bathroom had no hooks to hang wet clothes or towels, the bathroom had an old leak. it was not very pleasant experience read more

Made a reservation for 5-13 thru 5-17-26. Had to cancel in 3-26 but found resort website had no cancel feature so called repeatedly and was only able to leave mess on machine. Never a return call, in addition e-mailed resort on 2 different days 3-20 and 3-21 seeking to cancel, again no response. On 5-13-26 employee called to confirm check in, explained attempts to cancel, employee said would get with boss the next day. That night she charged my card. Calling on 5-14-26 I was put on hold for 15 min and then hung up on. Glad I kept proof as this business is very shady. Needless to say will never frequent or recommend this resort and am in process of disputing charges. read more

DO NOT STAY HERE! This place is disgustingly filthy - and they charge an outrageous daily cleaning fee for absolutely no cleaning. We showed up to dirty dishes put away in drawers and still inside dishwashers not cleaned, floors so filthy that the infants traveling with us would end up with black feet/legs/hands from crawling, and dead bugs in rooms. This is an issue across the board in all of the rooms, we had multiple families staying here in different rooms and all of the rooms were atrocious. The floors are so bad that taking one of the towels and wiping it across the floors came back black, and was so unsanitary for our babies that we went out and bought a mop ourselves to try to clean the floors because their staff did nothing. we complained multiple times about the cleanliness and the cleaning fee - front desk said management would call us and they never did. Read any of the recent reviews, this is how they're doing business. We used to come here as a family for many years, we WILL NOT BE BACK! read more

RATS!! I stayed there this weekend and Saturday night we saw rats running across our newborns play mat. We contacted maintenance and he said he doesn't deal with that and did not have another number we could call for help. It was midnight so we couldn't wake our 5,3, and 3month old to leave. We googled what to do and emptied the trash and food out of the room. We were so grossed out and found rat poop in the dishes as we cleaned. We were up so late and exhausted. As we emptied the trash we found a black rat trap outside. The next morning my husband went to the front office and spoke with Amy and said we saw rats in the room. We expected a hearty, I'm so sorry! She simply said "oh I haven't heard that. Ok. Did you fill up your gas in the golf cart?" I was so surprised when my husband told me of their lack of attention. So I went to speak with Amy and she very aggressively said, "I already did my job, you can call to speak with Josh". So today I called Josh. Expecting better. I began telling my story. When I got to the part about the black rat trap outside, he said"I'm going to stop you, we have those all over the property." I said "oh, so you know you have a rat issue? Are they in all the rooms?" Please keep in mind you cannot hear my tone. I did not say this aggressively. And he went off saying I am accusing him of having rats and knowing about it. I can barely get two words in during his aggressive rant. I have to ask this manger to let me speak. Does anyone understand customer service anymore? I have to beg him to let me speak. I APOLOGIZED. How ironic is that? I said I am so sorry, my question was trying to understand if this is an issue in all the rooms. As you spoke I understand that this is preventative measures and instead of basically yelling at me, you could have simply stated that. I expressed to him that going here has been a beloved family tradition for many years and my young kids LOVE it there. We go twice a year religiously and have loved it. However, with a very sad heart, we have decided to not go back. If there are ANY issues, they won't be met with kindness and customer service. Which is all I was looking for. People have died from uncleanliness due to rats in hotels and as a mom of 3, I expected better customer service. At least an I'm sorry, well look into it? I was basically yelled at. Maybe I'm crazy for expecting there not to be rats in my room or to have better customer service. But this was my experience. The room was clean but barely furnished. The TV was out the whole weekend. We were told it was a Spectrum problem but never saw a repair person. The housekeeping included leaving us a roll of toilet paper and two towels on the coffee table. We also needed to remove our own trash. To start, I like the Seashell Village Resort. On this visit, we stayed in one of the detached cottages, so that's what this review will be of. The Seashell Village has some highs and some lows, bit overall I really enjoyed my stay here. I would stay again if I wanted to stay in the middle of Port Aransas again. Here's the scoop: Highs: -The cottages! The cottages are like big studio apartments. There's a small full kitchen, table, couch, queen bed, and a bathroom. You don't share any walls, so you don't have to worry about noisy neighbors. I liked having our own little beach house. -Each cottage has its own reserved parking spot. The spots are big and can accommodate a full size crew cab pick up truck easily (it was what we drove into town). They are even big enough to do super easy parallel parking if needed. No stress, no matter what time you are getting back to your place for the night. -Easy check in! The office to check in is open until 5pm. Of course the day we were checking in we got stuck in a long ferry queue, so we ended up arriving at 5:07pm. The office was closed, but they had labeled envelopes waiting for everyone who hadn't checked in by 5pm. The envelope had keys and info for the hotel and had instructions on how to check in the following day. It's nice to have this option, especially if they ferry is running a long wait. -You can walk to the beach from the hotel! Like an easy walk for a lazy person distance. Yep, I'm lazy and proud of it! -It's in the center of town, so it's very easy to walk to many places for meals or shopping. -They have free wifi! -Very reasonably priced. We went during their off season in December. We got the cottage for about $80 a night. We got this price booking directly through them on their website. Lows: -The cottage we stayed in could use some TLC. Some of the paint was peeling off in big pieces from the ceiling. The floors were very uneven and even a bit wobbly and would make you lose your balance. The outside paint also could use a new coat. The cottage was just showing it's age in an uncharming way. -The ceiling fan was so noisy. I sleep with a fan every night just to keep the air moving. We had to turn the fan off because it made a lot of racket. -The wifi was not constant. It worked great when one person was on, but if there were 2 or more in the room trying to access wifi, sometimes it would start dropping. -The sleeper sofa was AWFUL. First, as a couch it was very uncomfortable to sit on. The pull out bed was scary. It was ok for my 42lb kid, but I wouldn't put anyone much heavier on it. First, it had a very severe V bend in it. No matter where you would start, you would roll right into the middle of the V. I sat on the side of the bed to read some bedtime stories to my kiddo and I felt like the bed was going to break. I mean I do enjoy food and I'm not a size 2, but I am also not that big (I hope), but I felt like I was going to break the bed. Even with the few hiccups, I would stay here again. We stated four nights, Sunday through Thursday. We had reserved a regular bedroom space with microwave and compact refrigerator. They also had full kitchen suites, but we weren't going to cook. When we arrived, the clerk said our room was on the third floor, a walk-up. She offered us the full kitchen suite on the second floor for no additional charge. Ah, the off-season. There is a living/kitchen area with sleeper sofa, table with two chairs, full-size refrigerator, stove, microwave, pots and pans and plates, glasses, utensils for at least six people. And a flat-screen TV mounted on the wall. Keep walking straight ahead to the bedroom/bath area. Two Queen beds. An armoire, closet with hangars, dresser, nightstand between the beds with clock radio. Another flat screen TV is on the dresser. The bathroom is kind of small with no countertop space to place your cosmetics. I used the window sill. Worked OK. There is a cabinet above the toilet stocked with extra toilet paper and towels. The tub is your usual motel tub. Plenty of electrical outlets throughout the two rooms. Housekeeping was interesting. When we checked in, we were told they would remove the trash daily. If we wanted more towels or to make the beds, we had to ask. Likewise for fresh linens, you had to ask. Well, Monday and Tuesday, the beds were made, trash removed and fresh towels left without us asking. Then Wednesday, no one came by at all for anything. I mentioned this when we checked out on Thursday. We were told the housekeeper had to leave early and didn't get to us. Oh well. I think we would still consider staying here again. read more

Seashell Village Resort also manages Gulf beach cottages. They have nice rooms (Queen suite) and cozy cottages with a very nice staff. Close to the beach bout 5 to 7 min walk. I really like this place .Only down fall is there housekeeping isn't up to par.Example if you walk around your room barefooted your feet turn black in a matter of seconds. Also meldew on the shower curtain. Then when its time to hit the hay you pull the sheets back to find hair in your bed. It's really a shame because the rooms and most of the cottages are newly renovated. They need new house keeping!! I've stayed here twice and both times I've had the same problem. I like this place enough to give it four stars. Because the front desk staff are very nice friendly and handled the hair situation pretty quickly. We wanted to stay in the same room we had back in 2011 because it was such a wonderful experience! But apparently time and Harvey have taken their toll on this resort. We walked in and were so disappointed! It had a moldy sour smell that never left. The floors were so filthy with mud tracks throughout. We couldn't use the dresser to put our clothes in because they reeked with mold! The furniture and decor were in desperate need of updating as it was clear they were all mismatched garage sale items. We stayed 3 days and had a great time in Port A but it was disappointing to come home every night to that room. My hope is that it's a work in progress and will in time be as great as it once was!! read more

3 stars is just about perfect for this place. It is A OK as Yelp puts it. It is very reasonably priced, has 2 great pools for use, every unit has a little balcony, and it is close to the beach as well as many places to walk to get coffee, food, or just hang out. The staff is friendly and helpful. We have stayed here twice. The first time (Aug 17 about a week before Harvey :( ) we had a kitchenette room and it was very clean. A few signs of age and a couple hiccups as far as noise etc but nothing to truly complain about. The second time was earlier this week (July '18). We had a bedroom suite on the 3rd floor. The room was not nearly as clean as it should have been. There were make up stains on one of the queen bed comforters and when I pulled out the pull out couch to make it up for my son I found a battery, a piece of cardboard packaging from a toy, and a baggie of souvenirs from a prior family's stay folded up into the actual bed portion (not underneath), along with the bed still made up with the old flat sheet. Ewww. It was obvious the couch had not been pulled out to be changed/cleaned etc. I stripped off the old bedding and used the clean set of sheets for the pull out which had been left for us. My oldest daughter lost an earring in her sleep so in an attempt to help her find it we looked under the beds and behind the little table between the beds where we found an old slurpee straw, pack of gum, and some other trash. The room had clearly been very sloppily cleaned this go 'round. The carpeting in the bedroom portion also had multiple stains near the doors to the bedroom and bathroom. I am assuming/hoping they were just paint. Overall we would stay here at least one more time as the first time we stayed the room was very clean. read more

My family and I have been coming here for 7 years now and we can't imagine staying anywhere else in PA. They have a number of rooms to choose from to fit your needs. This last trip we chose their Bedroom suite: 2 queens, full bath, small kitchenette area(mini fridge, coffee, toaster, and a small sofa with a twin size pull out mattress. Ih and we have two tvs. It was perfect for our family if 4. We have stayed in other rooms that have the full kitchen (plates, cookware, stove, etc). My favorite room is for a group of 8 and it has 2 queens, pull out sofa and upstairs two double beds. Fun for a few families! They don't have full maid service but do daily emptying of trash and give fresh towels. They have two pools, warm and a cool. Pool area is nice. Shaded area to lounge, changing/restroom area, plenty of bbq pits. Laundry room too. The rooms pricing is affordable. They are a few blocks from the beach which is perfect because we drive down with all our beach crap. They are walking distance to numerous beach shops and restaurants. The place is clean. No bedbugs! Pillows are plentiful. Sheets smell fresh. Floors around here are impossible to keep sand free but they do their best job. Oh they are pet friendly only in their cottage room. Great place to stay in Port Aransas. Our bed and pillows were 5 star!! Very clean and roomy. We stayed in king room. Only complaint is we got 3rd story! The two pools are kept nice and clean with plenty of chairs and pergolas. The beach is close but we drove there. Lucky on this beach you can drive and park by the water. Love Port Aransas. This has been our second time staying here. And it was just as amazing as it first time. The rooms are so nice & very welcome taken care of. The only thing they do for you is change your towels & make your beds. Everything else is for you to do which makes it less invasive. The lady in the front is so nice & so sweet every time we come. The workers are just as welcoming. The pool is 10/10 (and there is two of them!) Not to mention it's 3 minutes away from the beach!! read more

This place was very cute and sweet. We enjoyed being there. People who stayed here were also very nice. We were near the pool and in one of two efficiencies open for dogs. Though they don't have housekeeping just more like towel service and those types of things they do have the place stocked with basic kitchen supplies. The place was nice you just have to clean up after yourself and take out your own trash. everything was walking distance. The restaurant Shells is next door for a nice dinner and the beach is a little bit of a walk. We hope to come back again when we come to Port A. read more

I LOVE this place!! I have been staying here with my family for the past 5 years. The price is GREAT and the service is even better. You can walk to the beach or drive, stop in to say hi to the friendly dog in the front office. They stay on property so when you lock yourself out it's just a few minutes and very friendly! Example of excellent service: brought a surprise cake for my boyfriend and we got there too early. I gave them the cake we returned to late key was left as well as the cake in the room! read more

Great place to stay! Went down for Memorial Day weekend and rented a cottage. They had everything you needed (except conditioner) but all the things you needed in the kitchen were there. Close to the beach and Shells next door made for great easy dinners. Friendly staff, clean rooms, comfy beds, great price and centrally located. We'll be back for sure!! read more

Our family (5 of us) stayed in the bedroom suite for Christmas. It was nice to have a separate bedroom and living area for us to hang out in. The room was in great shape. A 5 min walking distance from the beach. On a separate occasion, two of us stayed in one of the cottages during the summer, which was perfect. We will be back soon. read more

I am torn between pleased and disappointed with this place. Let me break it down like this: We stayed in a Queen Suite in building 700. The Good: Very clean Updated and new rooms Nice set up for small families. Balcony was nice. Nice staff. Great pools and kid friendly. Decently stocked kitchen. Dishwasher. The Bad: Noisy Noisy Noisy. I do not recommend getting a place by the pool, the guests do not respect the 11pm curfew. Toilet broke. Unusable pull out couch. The mattress was sooo thin you could feel every spring. We are talking no padding at ALL. The mattress was really really firm, but you might like that kind of thing. I did not have a horrible time here. It was nice to be in a newer building and the front office staff was very responsive and attempted to fix the pull out couch problem. They gave us an egg crate foam topper, and for a 3 and 4 yr old it was sufficient. However for an adult it would not have sufficed, I could still feel the awful springs thru the foam when I tried it out. I would not stay near the pool again. Too noisy, between unsupervised children literally running around at night and people partying at the pool after the curfew and making lots of noise we were not happy with some of the other guests. Who knows, they may not have even been staying there, the pool is not monitored at all. So will I go back? Probably not, but maaybe if my normal place was booked again. I will avoid the rooms next to the pool though! read more

Likes: Pet friendly. The rooms are nicely appointed, and are mostly clean and neat - saw a few Palmetto bugs, but we are from Hawaii so bugs dont faze us. We loved being right next to the pool. The pools themselves were perfect. We liked parking our vehicle close to our rooms although Friday afternoon the golf carts in the parking right in front of our room. The Wifi is outstanding and had full bars our entire stay. Being close to much of the shopping and restaurants and beach is quite nice. Dislikes: Queen Mattress was like sleeping on a board. One side of bed had no night stand or light so we had to improvise with a chair from dining area..... which led to not being able to use right side of dresser (which was in a odd place anyway) and only 1 chair at table. Not enough places to hang towels, no hooks on back of bathroom door to hang robe or clothes when taking a shower. TV has no channel quide (onscreen or paper). You have to search all the channels to find the one you want. Dog friendly patio with a fence does not suit small dogs under 11# or less as they have 6-9" gap our canine family can crawl under. (Wish we had known and could have figured something out beforehand). Ants everywhere so be careful of setting something down in pool area (my drink on a short table was covered in ants a short time) or on counters. Our absolute biggest complaint (and the reason for any review) was the huge pounding noise coming from #BestWestern next door directly over the small wooden fence while at the pool. They worked from 10 am to 4 pm. We could not even carry on a conversation at the pool. Although this is not the fault of Sea Shell Village, it did impact the enjoyment of our stay. I went directly to BW and received much different information than was shared by the SSV manager. In her defense she probably did not know they were just placating her I was told by SSV manager that this is the way it is during the slow time and we'd have to put up with it. In their defense, they did offer to refund our money for any unused days (which would have been 2 of the 4 days) if we wanted to check out. We were really kind of over a barrel as we had just traveled 1700 miles from a job in Sidney MT. Picking up and moving luggage etc was not my first choice. on Friday, I called to get check out info, and spoke to the front desk who was fairly unfriendly. I was trying to inform her of the additional time on the noise - scheduled until next Tues/Wed for the noise (the real information directly from the BW front desk)) but she just wanted to say it wasnt their fault. I know it wasnt their fault. She just irritated a tense situation. I never asked for ANYTHING other than asking about refunding unused nights if we decided to leave. We even contemplated an extra few days if the noise stopped. All I wanted was honest information, or even a follow up of information - like hey can still hear noise, and I just checked back in but all I got was pretty much to leave if we wanted. I was a vacation property manager in Hawaii for 15 yrs until 2015 and this is not how we would work with people. Our rate was $79 for Tues-Thur, and $99 for Friday night, plus tax. No extra charge for the loud heavy equipment noise. read more

I have stayed at the Seashell numerous times over the last 8 years. The staff is always very nice and accommodating!!! We like to stay in the same condo each time and the staff is more than happy to book us in the same room. My friends and I make an annual trip to the Seashell every Memorial Day weekend to relax in their pool and enjoy the porch in our condo. We will again this year be making our annual journey down to Port A and the Seashell. I highly recommend staying here! They have a very nice pool area (including a newly installed second pool)! Very cool place. You don't come to a place like port A to stay in a holiday inn. This place is unique and well kept. In the spring there are fragrant flowers everywhere. The room may seem a bit outdated due to the wood furniture and motel style a.c.'s but they are clean and well kept. It is obvious that management cares for this place. The pool area is great, heated pool for the spring months. BBQ available. Very short walk to a great section of the beach. Right in the middle, want to do some beach fishing just walk to the right, want to go to the pier or jettie fish go left. Highly recommend. read more

If you are visiting Port Aransas, The Seashell Village is the ONLY place to stay. Amazing variety of accomodations, including cottages where your furry friends are welcome. Two pools, beautiful landscaping, one block to the beach. BUT the best part about Seashell Village is the staff. I have stayed here more than 10 times and the staff remembers me every time. Every one is friendly and will do whatever it takes to make your stay fabulous! One block to the beach and right on one of two main streets. Come on down and enjoy this little town. read more

Very clean, cute, super friendly and hard working staff, close to everything you need in town. They give you plenty of clean towels daily. Parking is a little tight but that can be expected so close to town. There are men working on making small repairs to this place daily to keep this place looking cute and up to date. Felt very safe here and would love to stay here in the future. One pool is heated and the other is normal. Lots of great pool furniture and balconies with each room. What a great place. Clean close to the beach. Staff is fantastic. If you are lucky enough to be there when they have a concert in their music venue then you are really in for a treat. We rented the "King Suite" for our visit and couldn't be more pleased. The little village is quaint & charming and everyone that works there is so kind & helpful. Our suite was spotlessly clean. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed to prepare & serve our meals - all new appliances & granite countertops. The king mattress & the sofa bed mattress were both comfortable. I love the chair & ottoman in our living area so much that I wanted to load it up in my truck for the ride home. The only so-so thing were their towels. The bath towels are not 100% cotton & were quite small. I can understand that they wouldn't want their towels to grow legs & go to the beach or home in suitcases, so that wasn't a big deal to us. Our suite had a front patio & a private back patio overlooking the pool. The village observes quiet hours from 11pm-8am so there's no worry about people partying all night. They have a laundry room with free laundry soap, bleach, Shout and Bounce. It is $1.75 to wash & $1.25 to dry and takes about 70 minutes to do a load start to finish. Contrary to other reviews, the technology in our room was just fine. The flat screen in the living room had all types of connectors. The free WiFi was a little sporadic on our end of the village, but we didn't go to the coast to compute or watch TV. The housekeeping staff was amazing. We stayed several nights, and they stopped each day to check in with us, exchange towels & spruce up the place. You can tell that everyone who works there really cares about the village. The location is super: they are two blocks from the beach, one block from the gas station/convenience store, one block from a beach store & two different cart rental companies. The worst part of the room was leaving it! We will definitely be back, and I hope we can get the same suite. read more

We stay here every time we visit Port A. It's the best! We always rent out the efficiency and feel right at home. And they are pet friendly! We love having a full kitchen and right outside is our own private patio facing the heated pool (that glows different colors at night) complete with cute comfy cabanas. It's two blocks from the beach and right near all the restaurants and shops. It's perfect and not all that expensive especially for how nice and clean this property is. I feel like its our little secret but some secrets just need to be shared. :) read more

We stayed two nights in one of the cottages and had a fabulous weekend without breaking the bank. The room and grounds were immaculate, and the staff was friendly and helpful. Our cottage was charming, had character, was spotlessly clean, and offered lots of amenities (coffee, kitchen, extra towels, comfy mattress, hairdryer, etc.). It's not perfect but it's perfect for the price. Our cabin was clean, well stocked and very comfortable. Things aren't new-our tv was old school and didn't have any inputs except coaxial so we couldn't plug in our Wii but not a big deal. We will definitely stay here again. read more

My husband and I stayed here for our anniversary weekend. We stayed in one of their efficiency suites and we really enjoyed it! The room was clean and spacious. Even tho it was right in front of the pools, we could not here what was going on out there from inside the room. My husband was surprised to see that someone actually got in the pool each morning to clean it! We would definitely stay here again if we were ever to come back to Port A! read more

I finally got back to Port A since the Hurricane Harvey. We were there for a show at Third Coast. I am so thankful that Seashell is back up and running. We stayed in Rm 205. Everything is newly remodeled, obviously. The beds were so comfortable. Clean towels, hot water, etc. Pool was open (and heated). Thank you for reopening and bringing Port A back. Pros: I stayed in one of the cottages, very convenient as I could park right outside the room. It is a very nice resort, nice pool, and near the beach and close to great restaurants.. cons: I was put in #6 right next to the street. The spring breakers were constantly driving by, with loud mufflers, at all hours, until about 6:00 a.m. and then the delivery trucks started unloading supplies at the restaurant next door. The heated drying rack for wet swimsuits did not work, and the coffee machine made only very week coffee, And worst of all, there were roaches in the silverware drawer. They assured me they would spray for bugs, but that would be after my stay. I suppose the noise was par for the course during Spring Break, but I would be sure to stay in a quieter room next time. read more
