The stay at the Seaside Boutique Hotel was overall pleasant, especially considering the reasonable summer pricing and beachfront location. Check-in was simple and easy, and upon entering our first-floor room (1109), the room smelled fresh and clean. During our inspection of the bedding, we noticed a boot print and some yellow stains on the top blanket. There were also a few stains on the towels. Fortunately, this was not a major issue for us since we brought our own sheets and towels. The fitted sheets on both beds appeared new and clean. The bathroom itself was clean, and the barn-style door added a cute aesthetic touch, although it seemed more decorative than functional and did not provide much privacy. The room lighting was excellent, with recessed can lights throughout the space that gave it a bright and modern feel. One inconvenience was that the room did not initially include the microwave listed in the room description. However, after contacting the front office, the staff was very friendly and accommodating and delivered one the following day. At night, the exterior lighting around the property was extremely bright and shined through the edges of the curtains, making it difficult to sleep. We ended up placing towels around the curtain edges to block out the light. The pool area was clean and well maintained, with a depth reaching 6 feet. Sits literally right on the beach. They provide everything you need -the normal toiletries, plenty of towels, an outside wash station & even a hot breakfast. The linens are of good quality but evidently some permanent stains. It is the cutest little hotel though & quiet. There were 2 pull outs in our room, plenty of ocean blankets and an ocean view. There's a pool in the back & ice available. My only recommendation would be to have windows that open for the ocean breeze. I would say 3 star hotel. It's 3 floors, no elevator. Our first fur baby's 10th birthday was coming up and we wanted to make it special. We were looking for a modern, budget and dog-friendly hotel near the beach, and the Seaside Boutique Hotel fit the bill perfectly. Note: This is a 3-star hotel, recently renovated, and while it lacks the lavish details of a Four Seasons or Marriott, for a quick 24-hour getaway in Port Aransas, we were happy with the location and hospitable service. A few other notes: -Each room has its own AC unit and dehumidifier -The showers and rooms aren't the cleanest--understandably, given the wear and tear from all the families, sand, and ocean water it sees -Towels and linens all had permanent stains on them -All rooms have Smart TVs, but the internet was spotty and didn't work for most of the night due to the poor signal -The hotel is walkable to the beach, and closer than most other hotels. A heads-up: if you don't have a beach parking permit to park directly on the beach, you could risk a hefty $500 fine When we checked out the next day, we couldn't stop raving about the service from Nancy and the sweet lady who took care of me and everyone else in the cafe. Let me just start off with the positive since that will be quick. It's proximity to the beach is awesome and the lady at the front office was friendly. Now for the not so nice... It was a super dated building. The "remodel" mentioned in other reviews consisted of putting a newer coat of paint on the walls and installing new lighting. Nothing about this place aligned with the "boutique" expectation as indicated by the hotel's name. Now for the details about the room. Where to begin... The bedding was DIRTY!!! I don't think they bothered to change it out before our visit. I got the feeling that they just remade the bed. The pillow cases and sheets had recent stains on them and the comforter had makeup on it. It was unacceptable!! I understand that most hotels don't change out the comforters often, but this one was in dire need of it. It didn't look clean at all. I brought it to the attention of the lady at the front office. She was nice about it and did apologize. She sent someone over immediately to change out the bedding. While the housekeeper was changing out the top sheet, pillow cases, and the comforter, I noticed that she didn't change out the fitted sheet that had a huge visible urine stain on it. I brought it to her attention and she changed it out. This was only beginning of our experience shortly after arriving. Towards the bottom of the door, the gap was at least 3/8 of an inch. It was to the point that light shined in from the crack at night. The walls were super thin. You could hear people walking (not stomping) around along with outside noise. My children had a difficult time sleeping due to the noise. There was BLACK MOLD on the shower ceiling!!! We didn't notice it until the late evening when we returned to take a shower before having a late dinner otherwise I would have complained. I was getting my young kids rinsed off when I noticed it. I expedited the process to reduce our exposure to it. It makes complete sense why they had a dehumidifier inside the restroom. They probably knew about the problem already and chose profits over people's health!!! The frigerator didn't work properly. It barely kept anything cool. I brought fresh chopped fruit for my kids to snack on. We were forced to consume it within a few hours so that it wouldn't spoil. It was close to room temperature when I served it to my kids in the morning. It was supposed to last us all weekend. The bed was uncomfortable. I know some people like extremely firm beds, but we don't. Between the icky feeling of what happened with the sheets upon arrival, the humidity in the room and the thought of mold growing in the restroom, and the outside noise, and the stiffness of the bed, my husband and I didn't get much sleep. The towels were scratchy and old. The embossing was cute, but other than that, they weren't satisfactory. The door to the restroom was just a sliding door that didn't offer much privacy and came off the track easily. The curtain in the shower was just a single layer that didn't even reach all the way down, causing water to run out of the shower. The wifi was non existent. If you plan on getting any school or office work done using the wifi, forget about it! When I asked the girl at the office, she said that the wifi was terrible and barely even works for her in the office. Cell service in the area is also very spotty, so don't expect to be scrolling through your social media at night. If your kids have a tablet, save yourself the headache and download a few movies for them BEFORE arriving. Those with kids will thank me for the heads up. They shouldn't even advertise the free wifi since it doesn't work!! Basically, we did NOT have a good experience. The black mold in the restroom is extremely concerning! We were fooled by all of the positive reviews. It has me questioning if we stayed at the same establishment because it was not a pleasant experience! read more

We really enjoyed our stay. The Hotel is not very large, but easy to park and walk right down to the beach. We loved the room, it was large and perfect for us. Especially want to thank Nancy for going above and beyond. Though, we can't compare it to a much pricier hotel, we will certainly be going back! Our only complaint was the WiFi was very poor quality & barely intermittent, but i picked up an ethernet cable in town and all was good... i think their routers need upgrading because the ethernet speed was very fast.. read more

We booked here with recommendations on the hotel. Upon checking in, it was clean, & seemed to be a good location. Pros: it has an excellent beach access location, the front desk clerk is very friendly & helpful, & the room was cute. Cons: upon further inspection the room was renovated & the bathroom floor was oozing a white substance, & appeared very dirty. It looks like renovations have been taking place for a while, & the room very much reflected that it was not fully renovated, & not of great quality. The driveways, & parking area are extremely narrow, making it hard to navigate in a larger vehicle. Overall, it was an okay place, but nowhere near the price charged daily to rent. read more

RIGHT on the beach, literally. That and the monogrammed towels that proclaim "Boutique Hotel" are the high points. Also, cold air and a good bed are plusses. Also a nice pool. BUT the furniture in the living area of the "suite" is NOT what is pictured; it was a couple of miserably uncomfortable futons and one rickety barstool. The "equipped" kitchen consisted of three melmac plates and four bowls, and TWO coffee mugs. Not a glass one, especially a wine glass. Minimal flatware. Bring your own, or get plasticware and paper plates. Smart TVs in each room; unfortunately the internet was sketchy so choices were minimal. In their defense, there were about a million (not actual count) spare people on that tiny island for the holiday, every one checking their cellphones. Floors were dirty from the get-go; my son also remarked that the mold in the showers was the most expensive he had ever paid for. Bathroom dispensers were all empty. No hot water in kitchen sink, and the dishwasher did not work. Neither did the dehumidifier, unless we manually emptied it. The kitchen was very clean when we arrived--fridge, oven, microwave. Coffeemaker did not work; a very nice housekeeper brought me another one promptly. All suites with kitchens are upstairs; there is no elevator. Think: groceries/drinks for six people (our kids had two additional rooms), being carried upstairs. I knew this going in, so wasn't surprised, and they are renovating so maybe that will be addressed. read more

TLDR: Bugs in multiple beds. Reviews are inaccurate and this is not a boutique hotel. The manager is vengeful and petty. --- Bugs in the bed are a nonstarter for me on vacation and their marketing team does an excellent job at hiding the true state of the property. I'm a firm believer that the reviews are rigged somehow (stay tuned for why). Initially we booked this hotel because of its high rating online and proximity to the shoreline. While it seemed a little pricey, it was on par for what was in the area on a busy weekend when a lot of properties in the area were sold out. When we arrived, there was some confusion with the payment since we booked through a third party (Hopper). The manager, Jeremy, stated that the owner told him not to honor reservations that didn't show up correctly in their system but he was willing to work with Hopper to figure it out and we were so grateful. We entered the room and our initial thought was that it wasn't what we were expecting, but we'd stayed in worse so we'd be fine. We entered the master, and it was clear that someone had sat on the bed. How you do one thing is how you do everything in my book, so we weren't sure what else wasn't clean, and asked to switch rooms. Jeremy accommodated our request and even gave us a room with a view! We were thrilled and went to dinner (shout out to San Juan's if you need a restaurant recommendation) and got ice cream. When we came back to get ready for bed, we noticed a towel with what appeared to be hand prints with Cheetos dust, and dirty footprints in the shower... again, not great, but not the end of the world and we'd be fine. And then there were a lot of alive bugs crawling around the bed. We went to the front desk where Jeremy was, told him about the bugs and he switched us rooms yet again. In the moment, I was concerned that he wasn't surprised or apologetic. When I mentioned this, he blamed it on our issues with Hopper earlier in the day. When we went to a THIRD room and there were also bugs in the bed, I understood his lack of surprise - this time, the bugs were dead, but I don't do bugs where I put my head. We contacted Hopper about the state of the rooms we'd be assigned and they reached out to Jeremy. They relayed the message that if we packed up and left the property immediately, we'd receive a full refund. So we moved quickly and returned the keys and left. Another highly rated hotel in the area, Best Western, was down the road. At this point it was about 11:00 pm and we were exhausted. We approached the front desk at the Best Western to make a reservation for that night only to learn that we couldn't because we were BLACKLISTED from making a reservation there. Initially, we thought the front desk associate was playing a joke on us after having heard the story about what we'd just experienced, but he wasn't. He had our names on a post-it in front of him and refused to rent us a room. In shock, we drove 40 minutes to Corpus and stayed for the night. The following morning, we contacted Best Western to get more information on the blacklist reasoning, only to find out that, you guessed it, Jeremy is also the property manager at Best Western in Port Aransas. It all made sense then. This experience was scarring and makes me question every review on the internet. Moral of the story... avoid Seaside "Boutique" Hotel and Best Western, check for bed bugs, and frankly, stay in Corpus and drive in for the day because Port A is over priced. read more

This is such a hidden gem! It was under construction during our visit but that was hardly noticeable. The staff was so friendly and kind. Nancy will go above and beyond for her guests. OMG!!!!! I booked Presidential Suite, $1000+ for 2 nights. We arrived about half hour later. It is DISGUSTING. It was a 12'x12'single crappy room. Not a suite, definitely NOT the LEAST Presidential. It was TRULY DISGUSTING. No person would describe this place as even close to decent. Any prior reviews are FAKE. Thank GOD I bought the insurance because the hotel employees refused to refund!!! I have stayed at this hotel 2-3 times and each time was a lovely experience. My last visit was extra memorable though. I stayed on a Tuesday night, in December. I arrived late in the night, and the front desk person told me that there will be breakfast in the morning if I'm interested. When I went up to my room, which was upgraded to an ocean view for free, I realized that there is no other cars parked in the lot. I was the only one staying there overnight since it is a weekday during off-season. The next morning, I was unsure how breakfast would work since I'm the only one staying there. As I walked in, I saw Nancy, an absolute light of human being. She offered to cook me breakfast, whatever I wanted, and so she cooked me a waffle, an omelet and some other things. I sat across from Nancy and we had a soul-to-soul conversation for over an hour. I left breakfast feeling inspired and extremely grateful to meet such a special person. She took care of me and made sure that I had the best experience while I was there. She made me feel special, and never made me feel rushed, Overall, I had a great stay and Nancy played a big role in that!!! read more

This hotel and the employees that work here were amazing! The rooms look recently renovated and ours even had a dehumidifier to keep it feeling fresh inside. The windows were also tinted so it felt very comfortable and private. They were flexible when I asked to book a different room and even offered to let us borrow their golf cart while we waited for our room to be ready. The rooms were very clean and decorated nicely. It is located right next to the beach access so all you have to do is bring a wagon and walk 200 feet to find a spot on the beach. They provide a complimentary breakfast, ice, and water to wash off all of your beach items!I will 100% be staying again in the future.
