We have visited Seaside Heights multiple times and always had fun at the boardwalk. This time during my visit i noticed that they run a sky ride like a ski lift that runs between both ends. The Pier as such has lot of activities during the season. Plenty of Pizza shops, Fries and Funnel cakes. No lack for shops. The restrooms are available at some intervals. A lot of stuff was closed today. I guess I came out of season. Most of the boardwalk is open Saturday and Sunday. The arcades are still fun to go to, if anyone ever wins anything. They've made a lot of improvements after Hurricane Sandy and the Fire. I'll have to come back on a weekend. Ghost town otherwise. But I can tell it's not at all boring during the weekend. Our family loves the Seaside Heights Boardwalk! I came here often as a child and recently brought my young kids here as part of a family vacation. The boardwalk provided lots of space for a stroller, endless ice cream options and kid-friendly rides and games at Casino Pier. In the summer they have wristband specials so the kids could ride as many rides as they want which was amazing because that could really add up. My 2 year old son rode the car ride at least 10 times and my 4 year old daughter wanted to do everything twice. For older families there is also a putt course and a nearby waterpark. We also enjoyed the arcade (skeeball!) there is something for all ages, young and old on the boardwalk. read more

Hoping for a warmer day but ended up being foggy and cloudy, which wasnt too bad overall. Not too many people on the boardwalk or the sand. It was still early in the season so parking wasnt an issue. A lot of the stores open after 10am so be prepared. Most of the action starts after 11am with the amusement park. Walked around for a while, picked up food on the way up and down the boardwalk, enjoying the day. Got on some rides, not all. But overall a great experience. Always a great time at the jersey shore. It's so nostalgic coming here because it was a high school weekend hangout. You also get to tour the jersey shore house for only for $10 bucks. I've been coming here since I was a little kid in the 70's. So my current view is based in part on that historical perspective. Hurricane Sandy did a number on the entire Jersey Shore in 2012, especially the Boards in Seaside. Nice to see the reboot is better than ever. Beach, Boards, and the town itself if more family oriented with less college age drunks than say in the 1980's and 90's. Beach is much cleaner. I saw no broken beer bottles. Food wise you can go with great classics like Maruca's Tomato Pies or Jersey Roll. There are some new interesting options too. Like Sweet Charlies for some hand rolled fresh ice cream on the Seaside Park end or Drifters of Seaside for some higher end options right off the Boards on 701 Boulevard. Casino Pier has some great newer rides. Recommend riding the HYDRUS roller coaster. 72-foot vertical lift and beyond-vertical drop. Epic views of the beach and ocean from there. Hotels and motels in Seaside kinda suck, so do your research before pulling the trigger to stay there. But bottom line, I recommend going to Seaside Heights for a fun Jersey Shore summer vacation. read more

This seemed like to our family to be the classic boardwalk in Jersey. It had many different shops and variety of foods stops. The amusement rides were great for the setting and looked fun. The problem with that was you needed to take out a loan just to ride anything. Disney seemed like a bargain compared to these prices. And of course, any shop's prices were little high, but we expected that. It almost seems like they check each others prices and match. Not much competition. After the guards left their stations for the day, we were able to walk down on the beach with paying. (I still can't believe you have to pay to WALK onto the beach. But that is NJ, they will charge you whenever and wherever they can. I had an original thought today and received a bill from the NJ government.) Overall, it is a nice walk and a pleasant place. read more

I have not been to Seasides boardwalk since 2007 before the reconstruction. It was absolutely beautiful. Maybe because it wasn't peak season but it wasn't very busy which was a huge plus. The Seaside Heights boardwalk is definitely an experience. I grew up in Jersey so I have a nostalgic fondness for this place. Food that will take years off your life? Yep. Ridiculous T-shirts bound to offend someone? Got 'em. Awesome people watching? You bet. There is a ton to do here, particularly if you have kids. There's an amusement park, lots of games, and plenty of arcades (modern arcades with a wide variety of games). One arcade had the biggest selection of claw machines I've ever seen. There are also activities off the boardwalk like mini golf, go-karts, etc. The food is out of control. Chocolate covered pork roll? They have it! Fried everything. There was one shop that fried everything imaginable. They offered fried White Castle burgers but we had more reasonable lunch plans so I had to pass. If you want a calm experience, go during the week. The rides don't open until evening, FYI. You can check all the attraction hours on the Casino Pier website. If you don't mind crowds and want a full boardwalk experience -- go on the weekend. At least the people watching will be solid! read more

Old but still very crowded It was labor day weekend and my b' day too ( 1-Sep-19). I am trying to cover all the beaches and boardwalk on Jersey shores and Seaside was my 13th Beach on this shore. Roadside parking was 1.5/hr and you can get private parking ranging $10-20 for the whole day. boardwalk seems to be very old but was it less charming? NO... I liked the vibe, crowd and shall I mention the cleanliness of the beach? Beach pass is $8 for the whole day but you gotta see the beach. It's clean as anything. Dunes are shaped perfectly, they are preserving everything along the beach so not a bad deal. There are many counters to enter the beach area. You can find plenty of options in restaurants and bar. Games, arcade shops, ice cream, pizza shops parlor wat else is not here. Casino pier is the biggest attraction of this boardwalk and SKYRIDE was the biggest attraction of this amusement park. $4 for one side and $6 for both sides. Trust me rather than going on big ferry wheel ( $6 for 2 just 2 rounds), this sky ride is worth your money. App 5 min ride time and you can watch boardwalk and beach from the top. There are like 100s of rides in this park. Heaven for kids. Overall well evening spent with my cute wife. read more

This board walk is good for babies, teenagers & adults 18 of age and older and the little kiddies that can walk on the board walk eating delicious ice cream and winning little stuffed animals & toys too. It also has exciting rides & boba teas, chocolate fudge & much more. You can even walk on the beach from the board walk which is cute and convenient as well. Almost 40 years of my life at the time when we came here and I had never gone. I'm so jealous that Jersey has stuff like this. Over here on Long island we do not. I mean yeah the hamptons if you are insanely rich. Coming here is actually affordable :P just that old school, family vibe, fun place. I loved it. I had an awesome time at the beach this week. I went with a group of 10 friends and family members and we truly enjoyed the boardwalk, the rides and the drinks. The boardwalk was clean and the beach was really beautiful, especially in the early morning. The crowd was nice and people were well behaved, unlike seaside of the past. My girlfriend and I came here after spending time at the Bay in Lavallette. I recommend the sky ride. It's $6 per person for a one-way ride. Because you can't really see the beach or water from the boardwalk (dunes), the sky ride let's you enjoy both from above. You can also look out over the neighboring towns and neighborhoods. I'm not a crowd or Zeppoli guy - a teeming boardwalk and fried anything in last year's oil doesn't do it for me but I am a realist. Seaside Heights is usually the image people conjure when they think of the Jersey Shore - white sand, double-wide bikinis and frustrated beer bellies trying to sink a 12" basketball into a 10" hoop... and the transplanted half-dead palm trees don't hurt either. The boardwalk here is carnie heaven littered with the usual suspect assortment of hamburger and pizza joints punctuated by plenty of spinning wheels and water jet horse racing. The rides are of the Ferris wheel and tilt-a-whirl variety and the lighting is strobed for maximum effect. If you're a fan of Bruce Springsteen's first three albums... you're livin' the dream. There's a reason MTV chose this shoreline haunt to vex every native New Jerseyan, it's stereotypical summertime in a two mile strip. "I took my troubles down to Madame Ruth, You know that gypsy with that gold-capped tooth..." The Searchers. So I went to Seaside Heights despite my better instincts. I love the ocean, sea life, white sands, and a salt water breeze, so what am I doing is this carnival they call Seaside Heights. A $5 dollar slice of pizza at Brothers, $10-$20 dollar private parking, $8 dollar beach pass, limited beach passes because of COVID-19, MTV "The Jersey Shore" house tours, Midway Steakhouse selections of burgers, fries and ice cream, sand dunes that obscure the ocean and the Casino Pier which now has a bar along with the best rides on the boardwalk. You know they now have 9 bars within a mile of Seaside Heights not to mentions those on the boardwalk.. For me the best time of year to enjoy Seaside Heights is during the late Fall, Winter or early Spring. If you can not visit at that time, I suggest Seaside Park, especially along the bay, The area is relatively tranquil and has beautiful views of the water. Stroll along from Seaside Park to Island Beach State Park. The Sky Ride which takes you along the boardwalk at about 20' above ground level is an interesting way to see Seaside Heights and take photos. It is $4 one way or $6 round trip. read more

I experienced magic Snooki Juju at a certain spot along this boardwalk, but more on that below... I read my Yelp friend, Dave R's review, about the characters he experienced here, and when I saw signs up and down the boardwalk that read "shrimps, clams and crabs," I couldn't stop laughing. In all seriousness, I was prepped for the worst, but visited during the day on a weekday in August, and it wasn't bad at all. It was mostly families meandering around, with a few scantily dressed teens, but not many. There was one man falling over drunk, yes. But in a 1-hour walk, that was all the foolishness I saw. Gerald S. kindly gave me a little lay of the land before my visit, so we parked and began our walk in Seaside Park, whose dune boardwalk connects to the Seaside Heights amusement boardwalk. The homes in Seaside Park are decent, and remind me of Stone Harbor as a kid. Seaside Heights gets a little more built-up and congested with hotel/motel potluck people coming and going, as opposed to families staying a week or more in a house. I've been to the Ocean City and Wildwood boardwalks, as well as AC (though AC isn't really comparable to these others). As others mentioned, Seaside Heights is actually a lot more lowkey than what was depicted on "Jersey Shore," and I'd say it hasn't as much to do as its Ocean City and Wildwood counterparts. I actually liked that because, believe it or not, it was less crazy. The beaches nearby were pretty, and people were relaxed and just soaking up vacation time. The most famous real estate along this walk is, of course, Shore Store for tees. You can take a tour of Danny's "Jersey Shore" house around back, for $10/head. Or, you can just take a pic of the exterior for free. When I was taking my shore house pics, standing right in front of the italian flag garage, I had a moment of magic Snooki Juju!!! Yes, I needed to replace my inspection flukie car, and having traveled to nearby Toms River for total disappointment (I did not even remotely like the newer versions of my current SUV), I'd given up on my car search, because I didn't even know what car I'd want. I was standing in front of Pauly-D's house like a misogynistically disrespected "grenade." Then, I closed my picture app, and a refresh on my phone brought up a make and model I wasn't even considering. Something made me just look at it, and as soon as I saw the huge sunroof, I was SOLD! I think it was Snookie Juju vibes that helped me. Thank you, Snookie (who began as the most hated castmate, almost left, and made a HUGE comeback)! I'd go back to this boardwalk for more Snookie Juju vibes, and more of George's pizza! read more

This is not the shore that I remember, but nonetheless I still had a good time. After Hurricane Sandy struck it things have not been the same. The crowds of people seem to have lessen over the years. We took a family trip down the shore because my boyfriend has never been. Albeit it was raining that did not keep us from enjoying ourselves. We indulged in Philly cheesesteaks, shrimp, scallops, pizza, fudge, candy apples, along with fish and chips. When the rain picked up we decided to find shelter in a bar. Theres a little train ride, they have little bumper boats, and rides for the smaller kids. While I have. Even to several boardwalks in my life, this one is definitely one of my favorites! It has some legit "beach" businesses and great stops and shops. Did I mention the legit them park! Fully equipped with rides and games!! There is even a go kart track across the street! The beach access I wonderful and you can literally just go back and forth between the two! So nice I also think the beach is very well maintained! There are life guards as well. If you bring some snacks and an umbrella I would be on the beach all day! Parking was pretty easy, and it had a good combination of family friendly fun and bars :) I thought the chair lift that spanned the length of the boardwalk and gave a view of the beach was pretty cool, but it took a little longer than I expected so I was getting pretty bored by the end. Definitely worth the hour and a half drive. There was plenty of parking. We were able to find park right across the street from bonfire and one block away from Bon Jovi Tribute. We were able to enjoy both. We brought our beach chairs and a cooler. Some cheese, pear jam, and crackers. We also purchased little neck clams and a jersey shore pizza. The ambiance was so relaxing. The singer played really good music. He sang songs that holds great memories for me. The pallets were being constantly added to keep the flames at a medium roar. Sunset was amazing!! Sand was nice and cool to my feet. We saw the ambers dancing in the air like fireflies. It was truly a magical night. I would be here every Monday if it was closer. I'm not sure why people have always made a big deal out of the fact that there is alcohol served on this boardwalk. So what? Despite the fact that there's bars on the boardwalk, this place seems very juvenile to me, and not in a good way. Had you asked me a few years ago what my favorite boardwalk was, this would have been it. Now that I've had a few more years of adulthood under my belt I can tell you if you want a truly adult boardwalk experience then Atlantic City is where it's at. Here you will simply be swigging cheap beer with frat boys and hanging out with the inexperienced just-turned-21 crowd. That being said it's not the greatest place to take kids either, but not because of the booze factor. The arcades on this boardwalk are definitely not top notch. The rides are uninspired, and yes, I realize Hurricane Sandy and the fire had their parts to play in this, but I still think the rebuilding could've made this place a lot better. No restaurants or stores really pop out as being must-sees. Add to all this that the town is 50 percent New York based tourists, and 50 percent Philadelphia based tourists and you have a pretty rough crowd on your hands. The vibe here is just not a nice one. Places like Wildwood (which is mostly Philly people), and Asbury Park (which is mostly New Yorkers) are still rude towns but just feel more cohesive as a cultural location than here. Fortunately the number of gawkers here related to the ridiculous reality show has gone down, however they can still be found. If you're in the area it's worth checking out, but honestly the Jersey shore has so many better boardwalks to offer. read more
