Napoli Tuna Sandwich
PennyandRusty P.

Season's Apple Cafe is an Asian-run Italian cafe located in a mini mall on Tenth Avenue in Burnaby, near the Burnaby-Coquitlam border. I stopped by here in mid-July to grab a quick lunch and took a seat on their patio. The view from the patio isn't fabulous... you just have a view of the parking lot for the mini mall, but it was a welcome experience to enjoy the warm weather that we've been having in July. I ordered the Napoli Tuna Sandwich ($7.95) made with tuna, feta, mozzarella, red onion, red pepper, spinach, mustard, and mayo on a grilled focaccia and teamed it up with a Passion Fruit Italian Soda ($4.70) and a large chocolate chip cookie. It took about 10 minutes for my sandwich to be made and grilled up. The exterior of the focaccia had a crisp cracker-like crunch to the bite and the mozzarella provided a nice cheesy-pull. I was a bit worried at first that the feta would be a bit strong in this sandwich but my concerns were unfounded. Sipping the passion fruit soda on a hot day like this was quite refreshing. I returned over 2 months later and ordered their Tuna Melt on Toast ($6.95) along with a Hot Chocolate ($3.40). I actually liked this better than their Napoli version. This is a classic text-book tuna melt with a beautifully golden hue which gives way to a crisp crunch to the bite before reaching the tuna and cheese filling.

We selected two different items to share: a chocolate cake and the other was earl grey. I loved how they were not overly sweet. The earl grey one had grapefruit inside, which unfortunately my friend cannot eat so he was a little disappointed that I got to have more of this one. Lucky for me, I don't have that problem! The piece of grapefruit on top should have been a clue, but he didn't notice it when we were ordering. haha I did find the combination a bit unusual but I enjoyed it nonetheless as I love both grapefruit and earl grey tea! Service appears to be restricted to counter service, so you order at the counter and take your food and drinks to a table. It was really busy in the cafe but we managed to snag the last open table. Because it was so crowded, it was a little difficult to carry on a normal conversation. Not deafening, just quite lively. The coffee was good - but word of advice, make sure you let them know if you want to add milk or cream as they do fill your cup to the brim! I would probably return to try some of their other desserts because I find most places a bit too sweet for me. Definitely recommend this spot.

The latte had a good sweetness. - Cappuccino: hubby said it was good. Not too milky and good coffee. - Chocolate muffins: very decadent muffins and very chocolaty. My kids loved it.

Makes it a great choice to finish off an evening with friends or to bring home. Their flavours are great and they add in new ones regularly! My favourite is the hotteok, highly recommend. Getting a 5 pack is totally worth it. They reheat well in the air fryer and makes for a good snack at home. Can get loud and busy on weekends, so takeout is better then!

Well I took the fish shaped waffle off the soft serve and ate the sorbet with a spoon then took a bite out of my waffle fish! Apparently after watching everyone else around me, you're supposed to just bite the waffle while it sits atop the soft serve. Oh well I guess I'll have to come back and try it that way next time! The soft serve is very light and the flavours are delicate. The waffle is really yummy with a soft chew. It's a busy and popular spot filled with teens and twenty somethings. The lineup moves pretty quickly but seats are often taken. Tables don't get wiped down often as staff are busy making cones but you can always ask them to wipe it down for you. Great dessert place for something light and refreshing.
