We arrived just under an hour before the 6:40 pm ferry on Sunday and ended up being one of the first cars in line, which was great! While you're waiting for the ferry to arrive, you can head over to the beach and enjoy the beautiful BC views. There are also a couple of places where you can grab a bite to eat, so you don't have to wait in the long ferry line for White Spot! I personally love spending my ferry rides out on the deck so I can take in all the amazing scenery. Although BC Ferries isn't perfect, the views make it all well worth it!

This campground grew on us. We were here for two nights as we booked pretty last minute and not…read moremany dates were available. It is managed by SCRD (Sinshine Coast Regional District) now, so the price is pretty affordable. $18/night for a tent site (max 5 people - 1 tent and 1 vehicle) plus $8 reservation fee. Extra vehicle can park at visitor area for a fee. Initially we were dismayed to know the tent sites were in a row, with no big space for privacy. The ground was gravel and not grass. So do bring air mattress or something for your sleeping bag, especially if you have a bad back. We got used to it and the fellow campers were friendly and kept to themselves. It is more of a family campground with many children. Everyone kept to the quiet hours of 10 pm to 7 am. There was a campfire ban when we were there. It came into effect just 2 days before we were there. Unfortunate but needed due to the dryness. Sunshine Coast was also in stage 2 of water conservation then. The good thing about this camp is the shower and toilet facilities. The caretaker (Lynn) does a great job in keeping it clean and the camp area is also clean. There are sites for the tents and RVs, plus a big area for big group. Think it is for 30 people. It is right by the lake which is also used by non campers. Lots of families come here to cool off in the summer heat. So the lake is only quiet in the early morning and after the sun sets. Katherine lake is home to the painted turtles though I didn't see any. Saw plenty of tiny fishes in the lake. Now I know why some campers come here every year. It is a good base to explore Sunshine Coast. The nearest village is Madeira Park where there is an IGA and some cafes and restaurants, pharmacy, plus a BC liquor store. The downside is actually booking it. The website is not the best. Payment is via PayPal. In the end I had to send a message on the website to book it. Lynn was quick to respond and helped me book it. Payment by etransfer or PayPal. The phone number on the website doesn't work.

The location is great, a little out of town but quite walkable for fit people...why not walk to Lucky's Smokehouse for food! In the other direction is the amazing Porpoise Park which on a quiet sunny day in Spring is quite magnificent. Again, this is eminently walkable if you like walking. Without a doubt, the best place in Sechelt to camp.

You can get groceries, get a tan, swim, or go to a nearby restaurant for some yummy food. This is SUPER convenient especially if you're unfit to drive and/or wanna enjoy the environment. It's nice to have all this within walking distance. ADDITIONALLY, if you are too shy to swim at the beautiful nearby beach then you could enjoy the campground's pool :) it's kid friendly and convenient to have nearby your campsite. The staff is awesome! Everyone has always been super nice and friendly. They are very lighthearted and make you feel at home. This is exactly the camping environment I'd like to be in (all summer long)! The campsites vary in size, which appeases different type of campers. Whether you're with your family, or taking it easy with just one gal pal, you can book a variety of campsites. You can book a smaller scenic campsite, if you're just staying over for one night. OR, you could book a bigger campsite, if you and your big family wanna stay for 5+ days. I've always camped here for 5+ days, so I've booked the bigger campsites with my family. It's nice having those options :) The campsites are beea-uti-fulll! So scenic, and depending on what site you book you can hear the relaxing melody of the stream. It's super helpful if you struggle to sleep at night, as it distracts you and reminds you of the beauty of nature. Overall, it's a beautiful experience. Cheers!

The Creekside Campground & RV Park offers everything you need for a joyful get-away and camping…read moretrip. You check in at the office, where you can also buy wood for your fireplace. Next to the office is a laundry room for cleaning your clothes. The Campsite even offers a Pool! (Open from 9am - 9pm) The area itself is not too big, but big enough that you will have enough privacy on your reserved spot. There are some RV places with outlets and some more tent-sites where you can park your car, pop up your tent and enjoy yourself and a nice BBQ on your fireplace. When we were there, a ice cream truck came by in the evening which was a really nice thing. The Creek marks one side of the campground, but because of the salmon coming back to reproduce it's not allowed to step in/ wade/ bath/ play in it. But that's okay, I mean the "big water" is not far and you can go swimming in one of the many bays this region has to offer (or the pool ;) ). They have a designated security person for emergencies and patrols at night, so you can feel safe all the time. I really enjoyed how friendly everyone was, that there are so many big trees on site and you have everything you need for a nice stay. This is definitely a place to come back to.

Accompanying my friend on a business trip which will involve three sailings in one day. Once we get off here we will head further up into Powell River to catch the ferry to Comox which is on Vancouver Island. Absolutley nothing stands out in my mind about this terminal.

It is beautifully appointed for a group that size (or smaller) with lots of beds, bathrooms, work spaces plus a lovely, spacious kitchen! It was winter time but we still had a mind-clearing 'walk and talk' on a nearby beach. Everyone in our group really appreciated the beautiful view and the relaxing, inspiring energy of Pacific Peace Retreat. We will be booking the venue again!!
