SEATAC/Airport station is the Orca Rail station that is connected to SEATAC airport. It is about a 10- or 15-minute walk through the adjacent parking garage, covered all the way. If you're on an overnight flight, double check your arrival time versus the operating hours of the station. I've had to wait a half hour for the rail to start after coming in on a Delta red-eye. I use rail to help my sister & brother-in-law avoid a hour morning or rush hour trip to SEATAC airport to pick me up. One-way fare is currently $3, a good deal! Will repeat and recommend!

It is insanely convenient to be able to walk off of your plane and get to Downtown Seattle (in about 40 minutes, fyi) for only $6! Six freaking dollars! It feels so good knowing you don't need to get an Uber or taxi to get to and from the airport! Saving a nice little chunk of money right from the get-go! I'm pretty sure we all can get down with that! The cars are relatively clean (I have seen much, much worse in my travels) and the ride was moderately comfortable. No drama. No people getting loud or stupid. No drunk/high people acting foolish. It was nice. :) With the convenience and money saved, this is a 5-star experience all the way! 5 stars.

First time in Seattle and it was so easy to navigate their transportation LINK So convenient to get off your plane and walk to public transportation and not have to catch an Uber or Lyft. The price is unbeatable $6 round trip Completely safe Well lit and signage is great/easy to read This shuttle took us straight to downtown and within one block of our hotel Best airport transportation/shuttle/train

My flight plans changed which lead me to Seattle Airport with a 7 hour layover on a Thursday morning. A quick Google search made me aware of this light rail that will take me to downtown Seattle. It was only $6 for an adult round trip, which is great and much cheaper than an Uber/Lyft. It was about a 5-10 minute walk from the airport using the Skybridge. They have automatic ticket stations that were easy to use. The train came around 9:15am and I arrived at Weslake Station, downtown at 9:50am. That is the stop I needed as I wanted to visit the space needle. The ride was pretty smooth. The only thing I dislike was that there was no posted signage for how to receive police or security, in case of an emergency. On the ride, there was a man who did inappropriate things to and/or in front of passengers, including children. Many passengers felt unsafe and worried. I was able to search Google and found a number to call/text security. I opted to text as I didn't want to talk on the phone to alert the offender to make things escalate. The number is 206-398-5268. Unfortunately, I didn't locate the number until I was close to my stop but I was still able to make the report. It did not take long to receive a response back. I hope they were able to intervene promptly, but I do not know the outcome of my report. Stay safe and diligent! If you're a frequent ride or will be riding during a vacation, save the number above, just in case!

I must say that this was the easiest way to get out and reach your destination safely from SEATAC. No traffic, easy to navigate and $3 one way fare! I wasn't too sure if there was an option for the Apple wallet so I got my orca card from the vending machine. There were more than a couple of orca card machines and no lines when I came! Lots of signs in the train so you'll know when to head out. And the voice over on the train does speak clearly. I must say that I prefer this route than having to deal with the rental car, or rideshare/uber as the lines over there are longer and the pick up area for cars have much heavier traffic. Affordable, efficient, clean! I've used it throughout my travel days here combining with uber, monorail and walking. I've traveled in so many places I go for the most convenient in the specific city! The link rail did it for Seattle!

Whether it's for departure or arrival, and you wanna get away from the traffic areas at the airport. I highly suggest this airport station parking for pick up/arrivals and drop off/departures. I've been using this location for a while now. And it works very well. It's about a five minute walk to the airport. The parking lot is not secured. However, it is pretty well lit. 15 minute parking only. There is no traffic here. People quickly come and go . You see a few people waiting a little more than 15 minutes, especially if flights are delayed and what not. I believe it's better to come here rather than to the cell phone lot. The cell phone lot gets super crowded and the parking stalls are very narrow, it's ridiculous to try and get a lot of people in there. I literally have to skim my way out of the door in between my vehicle the one next to me. Access to the Link rail is also available here.

First time using this station to get to the SeaTac airport, ended up being way early for my flight because of the quick journey from downtown Seattle. SeaTac has become the 2nd most popular airport in our household, but since we either get picked up, rent a car, or take a bus to Bellevue for our trips, I've never had the opportunity to use this stop on the 1 line. Due to circumstances, I ended up being the only one going back to LAX on a Tuesday morning, and since I had plenty of time, decided to check out how the train operates (and save myself $70+ for the Lyft ride from downtown to the airport). The journey from the Westlake Center station was about 25 minutes, with less than 10 stops in between. You exit on an outside elevated platform, take stairs/elevator down to skybridge level, and then from there, take a series of connected skybridges to get to the terminal. It does require going up one floor to get to ticketing, and the escalator wasn't working. There was no way that I could carry two checked bags up those stairs, so found a nearby elevator and waited. All the airlines are together in one place, but there are many skybridges that you can take...I just took the first one branching off from the main hallway which led to the Alaska airlines check-in area first. It is a bit of a walk from the station to the check-in area, but the path was smooth for easy use of roller-bags, most of it was protected from the elements, and there are elevators that you can use to go up/down.

Everything a stop should be, it is clean, well signed, and trains run on time. I especially appreciate all the good signage.

The train takes you straight from the airport to the city. I paid $6 for a round trip. One way is $3.50. This is a lot cheaper than the train in Denver that does the same thing! Very convenient as you don't have to deal with traffic. Also lots of staff present! This is good as when I got on the train someone was overdosing and about 3 stations later the security already hopped on to remove the people.

Sometimes, I prefer to leave the airport at SEA and take a train south instead of making a connection to PDX. I am a person who likes train travel. One warning is that a taxi driver at SeaTac had NO IDEA where the Amtrak station was. He tried to google it while driving; I thought we would have an accident! If I go direct from airport to station, I use Lyft or Uber now instead. More often, if I stop at SEA, it's because I'm arriving at an ugly hour, so I stay at a hotel. The Marriott across the street is within easy walking distance to the Amtrak station, and they've got a free shuttle from the airport to the hotel for overnight guests. There are no employees to assist passengers, but there is a notice posted in the covered shelter on each of the two platforms indicating the typical track for every Amtrak service that passes thru. As of 2023, there is also an Amtrak app that gives status updates and includes notices about track changes. Here's a tip: if riding in coach, you'll probably board in the center of the train, so stand near the middle of the platform. Business class boards at the front of the train, which is the end furthest away from the raised wheelchair platform (which I have not seen used at Tukwila Station myself.) The shelters will keep the rain off, but they don't have doors that close, so it can be a chilly wait. Everything seems in good repair, though, and I didn't feel uncomfortable waiting on the platform as a woman alone around noon. I have no data points for later trains.

Seattle is a special place, green, surrounded by mountains and nature, an excellent food scene, and a place I once called home. It's from that perspective that I have to say: Seattle deserves a better airport. The airport is overdue for a major remodel, something along the lines of Portland's recent transformation. Maybe it's time to call in Seattle's own Olson Kundig. For a city with such a strong foodie culture, the airport food scene is classically disappointing: uninspired, low quality and overpriced options. Outside of Beecher's Handmade Cheese, which wasn't near my gate, Starbucks was sadly the best Seattle option available. Beyond food, the airport feels stuck in another era, complete with aging outlets, uncomfortable seating and worn floors. Portland and Hong Kong, which I've recently visited, offered a better blueprint by bringing the city's best dining into the airport experience. Airports should feel like an extension of the city they serve, and Seattle's falls short. On a positive note: the light rail to and from the airport is an unquestionable win. It is efficient, affordable, and modern. Now the airport and its food and retail offerings just need to catch up.

I opted to buy myself an Orca card and take this train to work at the Seatac airport for a week because the parking lot was going to be having some access issues due to construction and I didn't want to risk being late. This train system is a joke! First of all, if I opted to take this thing daily instead of driving myself to work, I would pay more in train fare than I ever pay for putting gas in my car. On top of that, you either end up waiting for a train to arrive up to 15 minutes or waiting on your train to leave again, up to 15 minutes or you plain miss your train because they only stop long enough to let the people on get off and the people who are already on the platform get on. One of the mornings when I got off work at 4:30 am, I rushed to catch the train that is supposed to show up at 4:44 am. As I was approaching the train station at 4:42, I watched as my train left the station 2 whole minutes before it was even supposed to arrive and I was stuck waiting 15 minutes for the next one. When I drive to and from work, I get home in about 40 minutes, but this waste of time takes me over an hour. So, in review, I did not save money. I did not save time, and I ended up stressed out and frustrated with their system. That is the only time that this train has ever been worth the cost for my family.
