I was referred here via a friend. The owner, Paul Yoshihara, was very friendly, courteous, & kept me up-to-date on the status of the car & dealt with our insurance company State Farm. Our 2002 VW Jetta 1.8T was among a Ferrari P4, BMW 3.0 CSI & other european cars being repaired. He was doing a lot of restoration work for car collectors & CarTender in Capitol Hill has recommended him. Car collectors are the most difficult ones to work with so I felt confident our plain-jane Jetta would be easy work. Our car had front-end damage & needed a new hood, bumper/grill, fender & headlights. I was able to bring in different headlights with foglights and the european headlight switch which Paul was able to add with a factory finish. Seatown is super great. I got a pretty big scrape on the side of my car covering a couple panels. I was sad about that, but I was more sad when I went to the ford dealers and other body shops and they wanted to charge me $1500 for it. Seatown did it for less than half! The gentleman there gave me 3 options for how to fix up my car, and I chose the most expensive option (still less than half of the other places). It took them a day or two, and you totally cannot tell that anything happened. I was so ecstatic. They are so friendly and quick with everything too. I am hoping I don't scrape into a parking pole again, but if I do I am going back to them. Seatown is honest and fast, and they give you a good understanding of what your repair options are. They used to be my go to place for my Z3 but the door work was never right. The window motor was replaced last year incorrectly as it wore out the motor and now I need to get it replaced. I understand that often it's the glides that need to be replaced to set a window. Along with that, there is now a leak. And after they worked on my trunk, it leaks. They don't answer the phone (number on this page) any more, or return voicemails on it. I had to show up in person to see if the shop was even still open. Now it's not Seatown, it's H&I, with a small sign that's hard to find from the street. They turned me away, declining to fix my small dent, said they don't have a body work man on staff any more. Short-handed, the lady said. Not sure what kind of work they are doing - engines? Seemed busy enough inside. And they told me they were the same company as Seatown - I did see the old Seatown sign, apparently removed from the street, tucked away on the floor in the back of the shop. It all seemed kind of weird and fly by night-ish, as if they're hiding from the Russian mafia or something. But it was mostly really frustrating that they still are listed on Yelp as Seatown body shop while they don't do body work. read more

My girlfriend and I have used Seatown Autoworks (aka H & I) twice now, the first time for her car when someone drove into her, and this year for my SUV when I just wanted some running boards installed. The work on my girlfriend's car was great and still looks brand new today (she bought 1-year old and is now 2-3 years). The work they did with her car is the best you can outside of factory production. What compels me to write today is for their customer service. I'm from a small town in Idaho where service was everything. Bad customer service gets around. In a large city, bad service can easily hide behind marketing. H & I doesn't have marketing, but what keeps them very, very busy, is their amazing customer service. When I went in for work to simply install a running board on my SUV, I didn't expect 1st class service for such a simple job. With my most recent visit, it proved that they have amazing knowledge, service, and skills that they apply to both full collisions and for installation of parts. They go well above and beyond what a typical body works person does. It's an art and they are true artists, but without the attitude of an artist! I've recommended friends to H & I already, and will continue to do so. I highly recommend it to whomever is reading this! October 01 Update: 3rd time we used them! A true testimony to their service as we have went in with a problem that appeared larger than it really was. They are brilliant in finding solutions. We were involved in a hit and run and wanted a dent/scuff fixed and repainted. They told us that they should just try buffing it first as it would be a 10th of the cost. They buffed it out and only charged us an hour when I've had other places charge me thousands for similar scuffs. My background is in quality control and compliance and I'm very hard to please especially when it comes to my newer luxury SUVs - Yet I'm super happy I've found this place! read more

Super poor customer service I had told them I had parts for my bumper to add to the body work repairs and they made an appointment for a estimate. When I arrived in the pouring rain, she inspected the car and refused to give me an estimate. I can only figure because the job was too small and they wouldn't get the cut off the parts. I have used them twice and gotten great service. The first time, a year ago, was great -- done quickly, on time, pleasant service. But it was even better this time. They really went the extra mile. When we were examining the car after the bumper replacement from a parking lot hit-and-run, we noticed that the taillight also had been broken. We also noticed that the color of the new bumper was not a good match for my 24-year old Miata. So they said they would correct the color when I brought it in again.I notified the adjuster, brought the car in again and not only did they fix the taillight and the color, but they caught a small, nearby ding and some scratches and just generally made the back end of my 170,000-mile car look NEW. My son is attending graduate school in Seattle and has encountered a rash of bad luck with the car that I loaned to him. Several months ago, someone rear-ended him which required that the bumper be repainted. Paul worked closely with the !%#*!) insurance adjuster and made the process easy. I just had Seatown Auto/H & I Auto (not sure which name is current), fix some damage that was done to my classic 1967 Mustang convertible. Paul and Yuchu are wonderfully and incredibly friendly. It was like working with a small-town shop but very competent. Paul knows his repair products and has great experience. The person who hit me (a high-end BMW) also had Seatown do his repair. Wow!! I had a interesting situation where my car had been hit 3 times each represented by a different insurance company. H & I worked/negotiated with all 3 companies to make sure the car was fixed correctly (the estimates missed quite a few items that needed repair) and that I had a rental car for the entire time of the work. They emailed me with updates along the way to keep me up on any changes to the plan. All the repairs look incredibly good. When sighting along both sides of the car it is straight and true. In the end the car turned out great, in fact we feel like we are driving a brand new car (as an added bonus they detailed the interior of the car before we picked it up).
