I am a regular at tanning salons in Seattle and Bellevue, I have been tanning regularly for more than 10 years, and I did not think much of this place at all. They convince you to join a "club" where they charge you $25 per month, automatic withdrawl from your bank account. Then they charge you outrageous prices for tans, more than I have paid anywhere else, even with the "club" discount. I joined becuase the location is right near my office. When I joined I was there with a friend and I did not look closely at all the terms of the agreement... buyer beware! They get you to join the "club" and it is tough, and EXPENSIVE to quit! I had a balance of over $200 on my account when I realized that I didn't like going there and I wanted to quit. They refused to refund the balance on my account! So, I basically had to donate more than $200 to the place. SO LAME. After I quit, I went back to give the place one last try (crazy, I know, but I was desperate). The high-pressure salespeople at the front convinced me to buy a package of 3 tans for some "great deal". When I came back to use the third tan, she said that I needed to pay $25 to tan... I said that I had purchased 3 tans and that this was the third... she gave me some really convoluted explination and would not budge. I said that I wanted a refund instead of a tan becuase I was pissed that I had been mislead. She said that I had $35 left on my account, but that I could only get a rufund for $3.50. I was so pissed, I just left... another donation! ARGH! Be REALLY careful with this company, it seems like they are really unethical. I'm never going back. read more

I love Seattle Sun Tan! Definitely beats out any other tanning salon I've tried (besides Rock Star Tan Bar in Kirkland, pretty even). I live in the apartment complex right above the Bellevue location and I love their beds and how many deals you can find (ie: Facebook, Valpak, online coupons etc.) if you look for them. I love the selection of lotions that they have even though they are extremely over priced, but of course you're paying for the convenience and experience. I love their level 5 bed and stand up level 4 bed. Their packages can be confusing at first, but then they start to make sense if you ask one of the girls who is at the desk. Most of the girls I've encountered are super friendly. I think it's silly some of them don't remember my last name when it's the easiest name and I'm there so often (in their defense I got married in February and had it changed). I love the regional manager (Crystal) she's really great, super friendly, and fabulous at training her staff. Some of the girls are really great at selling packages and lotions (wish I had their names to give a shout out) without pushing it on you. They will tell you how it is and be completely honest but still end up selling a great product. I love most of the service, the girls that are great at it make up for the ones that aren't in my book. I'm a member and have been going pretty regularly. I made an appointment for a single my Lipo session - which is $27 for a single session for members. The girl ignored what I asked for and charged me for three sessions that I don't need. She refused to give me a refund - even though I didn't even sign the receipt. I had to wait for her to call her manager- which also refused to refund! So I walked out with no sessions. I called the other center and they also refused to refund! So buyer beware!!! Even if they make an error on their part- they still charge you for it!! I'll be canceling my membership!! read more

Great location and I love the convenience of my packages applying to every one of their locations, but I feel like 9/10 times I come in to tan I feel like someone is trying to sell me something... a new tanning package, a new lotion, etc., even after I just bought new sessions the last time I visited. I understand employees work for commission and you have a bottom line to make as a company, but I would feel much more valued as a customer if I could tan and not feel pressured to "take advantage of a sale" that is going on or "if you re-up today, I could put two free tans on your account." It's very frustrating to come in and constantly feel sold to. read more

The experience here is nothing short of a migraine. Every time I come in I am missing more and more $$ off my package. The ladies NEVER know where it went. I was even given a $20 credit added to my account from the Issaquah location, yet the next time I came in to the Bellevue location, $14 was already gone from it!! The worst part is the girl behind the counter told me "oh don't worry about it... You still have like 10 or 11 tans left!" Ummmm not ok!!! I should have like 12 or 13!! I'm just trying to use the last of my already paid package (since they don't refund) so I can start going to Desert Sun! This is ridiculous!! read more

Nice beds, always walk-in with no waits, free water every time and you can tan unlimited for $29 month... what's not to love?

I called ahead to a few places to get a mystic tan before my San Diego vacation. I am not tanning booth clientele, I don't have the time or inclination to drive somewhere, park and sit in a booth for 5-7 minutes before turning around and going home. I've done mystic tanning in the past and been happy with the results. I called and they were really helpful and told me about a new machine that does the same tan but coats 4 times for a more even tan, less smell. It was $4 more so I decided to try it. Everyone was really nice and helpful and I was impressed with how clean and tasteful the decor was. They showed me around to several of the other machines, even though I had no interest in other machines. While friendly, the constant upsell I got from the moment I walked in the door was a little annoying. I got at least 5 attempts at upselling everything from an antiaging mist that can come with the mystic tan, to an upgraded package (I just wanted the ONE tan) and a special lotion that I could use with the mystic tan (this was given to me as I was checking out like it was part of the tan. When I asked it was 16 dollars. I declined and got an "are you sure?" Sheesh. My tan started to look like it was developing well that night (though did have just as strong a smell as other spray tans). I didn't work out or take a shower that night so I didn't ruin the tan. When I woke up the next morning I had the worst, splotchiest tan all over my arms and legs. It looked like I was 50 and had age spots. I should have called for a refund but left for vacation the next day and two attempts to call the manager was never in. The next time I want a little pick me up before a vacation I think I'll entrust my skin to someone else. read more

The girls are nice, but the company's overall customer experience sucks. Be aware that Seattle Sun Tan does not have a refund policy. I am getting married and wanted to try out a spray tan. I made the mistake of purchasing a package of 3 tans ($115), then decided I really don't like the effect of the sunless for my wedding photos. I tried to get a partial refund for the other two that I have not yet used, but customer service said no way. All they can do is let me spend the money on product, or on other tanning services, which I'm not interested in. I guess I'll have five years supply of lotion instead of my $90 back! Don't prepay, you'll lose. read more

PLEASE STOP using fabric softener or heavily scented soap in your laundry loads!! I am extremely sensitive to those crappy, overpowering fragrances and it can trigger full-body hives and an asthma attack. There is no reason and no benefit to having strongly-scented soap with your towels. I'm sure I am not the only one who is bothered by this. Those little towels go over our faces when we are lying down in a UV bed so we are breathing in a large amount of that scent. It is extremely unhealthy and potentially dangerous for those of us who have allergies... PLEASE stop. Please. read more

DONT SPEND YOUR MONEY HERE. This company continues to charge me every month even though I cancelled my account months ago and have continuously contacted them and told them to cancel my account and refund my money. I have to do this EVERY SINGLE MONTH. I even wrote them a letter last month stating if this issue continued I would post a bad review and tell all my friends and family how much they suck. I am amazed that a facillity of this size does not have any place to hang your clothes in the rooms. At least there haven't been in any of the rooms I've used. I commented on that fact to the receptionist who acted like she didn't know what I was talking about and was uninterested in my comment. The rooms are large with plenty of wall space for hangers. You can throw your clothes on the floor or drape them over the tiny stool or try to stuff them on the small shelf provided. I don't care for any of these options--especially if you are coming from work wearing nice clothes. Put up some hangers (they are not expensive) and I'll give you more stars! P.S. My husband's room had no stool, no hangers and no mirror! read more

Visited this location to try the new light spa... the level of service was very disappointing second time in the pod my light facial was forgotten nobody came to administer the light which is a main part of the service? I'll admit it; I have been to a lot of tanning salons. This is the best! Everything is always clean and the decor is done in a tasteful, classy way. Not all cheesy and neon lights with palm trees painted on the walls like oyher places around. Unlimited mystic tanning for $50 is a great deal too. I have never had to wait for a room. My favorite thing about the friendly staff is that I don't feel like they're just trying to sell me shit everytime I'm there! read more

I called multiple times requesting to withdrawal from monthly auto-billing to no avail. Finally seeing this on my account again I drove down and they typed away at the computer and told me it was cancelled. Weeks later I see they charged me again. I called in and they told me there was nothing they could do even though its in the establishment where they could take my credit card and contract. Now, I had to call customer service. I call customer service and they tell me it their policy and I signed it that they have 15 days to process! Therefore, they can keep charging you/me for 15 extra days because that is their policy and you as the customer signed the policy, so too bad. This does not take into account the times prior I called to cancel. They just programmatically wait 15 days so they can charge you. They can do it, but I don't have to do business there nor do you, or friends or family. Can't wait to see them go under. read more

The tanning salon itself is one of the nicest ones out there. The location is great and there is always parking available. The girls working at the salon is what makes the experience even better! After only going to the salon to spray tan and tan, I was hesitant to ask about other services that help with toning and body sculpting. The girls were very supportive, informative and friendly. Have had a membership for about 6 months now, what I like is that the whole facility is very clean, well stocked and I rarely have to wait more than a few minutes. However, the girls that work there are obviously on commission because they are constantly pressuring you into buying an expensive bottle of product or an add-on product, makes you feel like you stepped onto a used-car lot. I am also wondering why my monthly billing is $29.60 on my credit card for a $24.95/month package, thats almost a 19% mark-up to cover taxes?!?! We should all be checking our billing and asking your local manager as to this billing practice. read more

worst tanning salon ever, bought the most expensive pkg and used the hydration station and got burnt from the steam vent cover on first day, and now i have a scar on my knee, talked to the manager, didn't get onetime "sorry" from her and she asked me to try the machine again, because they cannot refund my money at all! she also gave me attitude... .. (are you serious?) my husband took a picture of my knee and sent an email to this customer service girl and finally she refund my money back minus 3 tanning beds i used... everyone else was very nice, machines are top quality, however the manager girl ashley ruined my experience at seattle suntan and because of her, i will not go here ever again and will continue to share this stories with my friends and others. read more

Seattle Sun was nice until I canceled my membership. They continued to charge my account for 5 months after. When I let them know that they had "accidentally" charged my account they would not refund me. The owner was supposed to call me when he came back from vacation but never did. A girl I work with said they did the same thing to her, so be careful. read more

I have been coming to this salon for over 8 years. While this location is the best of the ones I have been to- I am writing to warn customers that their seems to have been a change made to their customer service support. I spoke with a really disinterested person in corporate regarding a very legitimate concern about a piece of equipment that the NICE girl at the salon told me was likely broken or overdue for repair. Customer service here used to be GREAT. It is still a clean salon with friendly staff in the locations- but clearly something has shifted int heir corporate support and customer care. BEWARE their policies and support if you are not happy with your experience, they may not do much to help you with that. UPDATE on my email back from customer service which says their team has inspected the unit and it works great, and has worked well all morning for customers. Which means they did NOT inspect it and are simply saying I am wrong. I am offended because of all the business I have brought them. May save the email/ may post it here but am hoping someone else from the business contacts me and this is a fluke. read more

What a joke, they sell you on services such as a Hydration Machine and then when you try and book it, it is down. I have tried to book this since they signed me up and have yet to be able to use it. The reason I decided to go with Seattle Sun Tan was due to services that other salons did not offer, but if the services that you were sold on are never available, it is really a mute point to go with Seattle Sun Tan, they are the same as any other sun tan salon. read more

This is the FACTORIA SEATTLE SUN TAN PLACE: I went in thinking how great $24.99 for a Black Friday Special (day after Thanksgiving) of monthly unlimited tans. OF COURSE they want to keep your credit/debit card on FILE with that price! I said, 'No.' The price was NOW an EXTRA $15! I said 'No' again. Then they tried to tell me how there was still 40% off for a Level 3 Bed for 1 tan, making my price now ($12.00) INSTEAD of $20. Like $12 for 1 tan of 7 minutes is a good deal or something?? THEN they tried to sell me tanning lotion for $3.00 and said how much darker I would get. Don't forget the .75 cents for the eye foil protection AND then a 19% TANNING TAX which I have NEVER HEARD of. My tab would have been around $19 for 1 ridiculous 7 minute tan. I said NO to the lotion and then paid the RIP OFF $15 charge instead. AFTER 7 MINUTES, I SAW ABSOLUTELY NO Difference! PRICES are WAY TOO HIGH and they TRY to UP SELL YOU FROM THE MOMENT YOU WALK IN THE DOOR. NEVER STEPPING FOOT in that PLACE AGAIN. read more
