As for the hot and ready to eat foods I grabbed, I had the vegetable egg rolls, sesame tofu, and fried rice. The egg rolls and tofu were good and passable for a quick cheap lunch, but the fried rice was near inedible. Veggies were cooked and tender, flavor was good, but the rice was entirely undercooked. I struggled to even find a single grain of rice that wasn't raw and hard and since I had mixed my rice with my tofu it nearly ruined lunch. I wouldn't call this experience indicative of of Eastsides typical good quality food, so I wont judge too harshly, but I hope this experience wont repeat itself.

I also really enjoy their selection of vitamins and personal care products. At checkout, you always have the option to "round up" to the nearest dollar, and your change is donated to a local organization. Last but not least: Anyone can shop at the co-op. However, you have the option to purchase a membership that has some perks. There is a one-time fee for a lifetime membership. As a member, I get coupons and special in-store deals.

I have purchased turkey a few times that has gone bad in my fridge before or immediately after the sell by date. I have a brand new fridge as well, so that can't be blamed. When you charge this much for turkey, it should at least last until the sell by date. I also don't appreciate how when you purchase a smoothie, they pour massive amounts of it down the drain when it doesn't fit into your cup. At least set those out as samples. Unfortunately I still live in beef country, so when I came to visit the cities I knew I had to come here. It was definitely a safe space and I finally felt like I belonged. I'm sure I'll catch hell for it back home but oh well! I also found vegan fish sauce which was so exciting. I did try the jerky and I really did enjoy the flavor but the texture is not nearly as good as, say, primal jerky, For ten bucks a bag it was just ok. For lunch I got the turkey dill havarti sandwich and it was excellent! I shared it with my vegan brother and carnivore husband and they loved it. In fact my husband finished it off and declared it incredible. I tried the italian cold cut sandwich my brother got and it was even better! I love the peppers. Another fun part of this was watching my carnivore husband get excited about ordering faux meats he wanted to try. Overall this is a great place. This is a whip cream made from soy in a traditional, pressurized can like "Reddi-whip" etc. Apparently manufactured in Germany, this item is a complete engineering failure. Ceres, instead of standing behind the product and stepping up to refund purchase price to us suckers, hides and pretends they know nothing. It's the kind of duck and dodge I could expect from Kraft, but not from an outfit that wears it's righteous food cred on its sleeves. What a waste of $5. Shame on Ceres!
