It looks a bit run down from the outside but don't let that fool you, this is a family-friendly, diner-style, fast seafood and burgers place. Not fancy, it's a typical beach side quick service. Mostly fried food, burgers, great fries and onion rings and hand made milkshakes with real ice cream. Many people seemed to be locals inside dropping in to have an ice cream cone or a milk shake. We ate our lunch (seven of us, and a dog) on the back patio. If you have a dog you have to enter from the back and eat outside which was fine with us, there are stairs and a long ramp if you need it in the back that also lead to the fishing pier. Enter through the bait and fishing shop to get to the back stairs. The restaurant is attached to the fishing pier (and you pay to walk or fish on the pier). Thats strange for us, having grown up on the West Coast where the piers are all free to walk or use it's seems cheap or greedy to pay for it here. Here the piers are all fee based, even just to take a stroll and it costs more to fish on top of your fishing license. Even with orders for seven and a busy dining room our food came out really fast, the milkshakes came out a bit slower but again they had to hand make them one at a time from fresh ice cream. I had a double bacon cheese burger and it was huge. Several people in our group had typical fried fish baskets and we all had fries or onion rings. They also had fresh ranch to dip if you asked for it as well as the usual condiments. Parking is free but be sure to park in the restaurant and bait shop parking lot and not the motels or time shares nearby. read more

The restaurant at the Seaview Pier was nearby, so we tried it for breakfast. Service was happy and enthusiastic; the place pretty divey. They have a small fridge of bottled juices, and a server yourself fountain drink and coffee counter. The sausage links were excellent, but the pancakes that they came with were flat and dense. It did come with a bit of butter, and imitation syrup was available in large bottles at the back. Likewise the bacon was pretty good, but the French toast tasted of old oil so badly it was inedible. A western omelet was tasty, but way over cheesy. $2 extra per person if you want to walk out on the pier. I'd say none of this should have been a surprise, but it was disappointing. read more

If the kids are hungry and you don't feel like leaving the beach.... Do it. I got the fish and chips. The chips and the fish tasted the same. My friend tried the fries and said he thought it was all cooked in peanut oil. My friend was not dissatisfied. I was. You can do this at home for $2. The prices don't make sense for what you get. The restaurant is on the second floor over the bait shop so lots of steps to go up to even get there. Once inside, you are barraged with signs everywhere about what you CANT do. You CANT change clothes/bathing suits in the restrooms. You CANT bring in your own cups/containers and fill up at their soda station. (I get this one but do you really need four signs that say this?). You CANT go out on the pier out the back door unless you pay $1.00 at the register. Shower curtains serve as 'doors' in the ladies restroom. Our $3.00 breakfast sandwiches were prepared/cooked just fine and since we were staying only a mile away they hit the spot but I don't think I could recommend this place otherwise. read more

With few restaurants nearby, options are limited, but if you go to the sea, you have to eat seafood. The Seaview Pier Restaurant is a tasty respite from a day in the sun. I've read other reviews that were negative, writing about greasy food and the decor, but I found it to be a charming beachfront hut serving fried but tasty fare. My husband tried the clam strips with fried corn (yes, fried corn) and onion rings. He enjoyed everything but the fried corn just got oily and starchy. The hush puppies that came with it were tasty too. I ordered shrimp with fried okra and onion rings. It also came with hush puppies. Everything was perfectly crisp and while it was all fried, I didn't find it to be greasy. The tartar sauce that came with it was sweet, and I prefer more of a dill flavor, but that's minor. They serve beer too, so we each ordered one--a Corona and Budweiser. The staff was super friendly and the view was nice. We ate outside, and while there were a few flies, it was pleasant. If you're on the fence about going, I encourage you to stop by. For $30, we had a nice meal and it was super close to our rental. read more

Went here to get some take out lunch! The woman at the register was very polite and took out orders, we got our drinks and waited for our orders. This restaurant is located on top of the shop/ entrance to the pier. The food portions were decent for $10. We got the fish burger daily special and the fried shrimp basket daily special. The shrimp we delicious and large bit like little popcorn shrimp. The fish sandwich was just a square breaded fish patty, like you would by frozen from the store. read more

If you like good fresh fried seafood this is the place; shrimp, oyster, scallops, clam strips, flounder and deviled crab. Only negative comment is they serve Franks Red Hot instead of Texas Pete. The place definitely looks like a dive from the outside and once inside it doesn't improve much... not dirty, just super no-frills - like it's situated over a bait shop, which it is :) As one of the other reviewers mentioned, there are signs EVERYWHERE about not bringing in outside containers. One or two, I could see. But this was way overdone in my opinion. Points go up for the service, which was friendly and very polite. The food was good, well-portioned and served up pretty fast even though it was clear the ladies behind the counter had their hands full with orders. $29 for 4 meals (3 adults and 1 child) isn't bad so I'd say it's an economical choice if you happen to be at the beach for the day. read more
