Found this place through Yelp and decided to try it since we were in Burgaw. I have to say the food, and service were awesome. The kids and I had the burgers, hubby had a club sandwich. Waitress was very nice and the service was great. We enjoyed the pictures of different spots around Burgaw. The restaurant was clean and bright. This is our hometown go to! Owner and wait staff are so friendly! They put care and quality into every dish. I've enjoyed every meal there.

Nice hidden little gem in Burgaw. The food has been hit or miss in my experiences, but the staff is very friendly and service is fast.

Went there a couple times and did not have the best experiences. Well my wife and I have given them a few more chances and the meals we have tried are very tasty. We have since moved from the burgaw area but we return from time to time ... we will likely go back now and then. read more

Great menu with emphasis on steaks and seafood. Great service. What I don't get is the prices for their appetizers and soups. A bowl of claw chowder was $11.99. I don't even pay that much in Boston for the real thing. Finally, they have a B health rating. read more

Went for a late lunch with a friend. I had a Philly cheesesteak sandwich...and they had the Slap Ya Momma Shrimp appetizer. Both were very good and tasty. Food was hot and fresh. Service was good. Restaurant and bathrooms were clean. Definitely looking forward to going back again. read more

The people who work there are incredibly friendly and make you feel like family. My only complaint or the food prices which are really high compared to other seafood places. When they were in their old location, it was the same issue, which was the cost of the food. I will, however, say that they absolutely know how to cook seafood very well. read more

I can't imagine very many people stumble into Burgaw NC by accident. We came for the free internet at the Public Library, since the nearby site where we are volunteers has no service, and our phones only get 1-2 bar signals. We almost passed Bandanas by since it's at the far end of a grocery store strip mall which has seen better days... that would have been a Big Mistake. The decor is small town worn but homey, the staff warm & friendly, the fairly loud but tasty country music tolerable. The Menu has surprising range and depth, and although we didn't challenge the kitchen much this trip, we will be back next time we need to back up our phones! read more

I have been trying to think of the right words for this review. My mom dines here a lot so I need to be as gentle as possible. The town this restaurant is in does not have more than 5 restaurants other than fast food. Maybe even less than that. So, for this restaurant to be busy is understandable. The location it used to be was so cute and a place that was inviting. This location is in the middle of a run down Food Lion shopping center. No big deal as I have found some of the best hidden gems are found in places like that. The restaurant itself is mainly set up like a large diner. There are two separate huge rooms. It looks like it used to be some kind of theater or dance club or maybe an American Legion? The decor makes no sense and they still use handwritten tickets and you pay at the counter. It was definitely not very clean or neat and tidy. Not dirty where I wouldn't eat there, but ripped chairs and boxes in the halls. Still, none of this would have mattered. This restaurant definitely caters to fattening, hearty, soul food. I eat very healthy so it was hard for me me to find anything on the menu that I wanted. I chose the catch which was rainbow trout (never had it.) To be honest, I was afraid to try their salmon and tuna due to my high standards. The rainbow trout was not something I would order again but it was cooked well. The salad with it was a large size. My mom loved it while I found it just OK. She ordered chicken tenders and I could tell that they were homemade. I took a bite and they were delicious. I also took a bite of the macaroni and cheese and it was barely warm but had a decent flavor. The seafood platters and sandwiches people were getting looked really good. Like I said, you don't go here to eat healthy. My son had the pork chops here before and he loves them. My biggest concern was the lack of friendliness from our server (who was the owner.) No personality at all and I understand that she was busy but she acted as if I was annoying her by asking questions. I was thrown off by that. Maybe she was just having a bad day??? Anyways, come here for reasonable fattening food and don't expect a fancy, clean space. Don't expect great customer service but it's better than the fast food in town. read more

My family and I just moved to Burgaw a couple of months ago. Bandana's has become our spot about once a week. Everything we've ever ordered has hit the spot. From the Pudgie Pie Pizza to the shrimp plate, fish, Mac n cheese, and today we tried the home made Catalina Salad dressing! Boom! Great stuff and friendly staff!!! Our cups never went dry. Ever. My wife and I were recently given a generous gift certificate for Bandanas. We decided to cash in on it today and were very happy with the outcome. My wife had a beautiful piece of fillet of flounder. The color of the breading was golden and appetizing and it was not greasy at all. At 3/8" thick, it was a quality fish purchase. The plate also included, slaw, hushpuppies, baked potato. I decided on the Philly Cheesesteak and added jalapenos sauteed. Thick with meat, cheese holding everything together with a fresh bun, not soggy. It was close to being the best I have every eaten. French fries were my side. Perfectly deep fried and everything hot. The decor is simple but clean, the waitress was attentive and we even spoke with ownership on two occasions. The only reason I didn't give five stars is because no one or no thing is ever perfect. We weren't very impressed. This was our second time here and it was just meh. Now I understand that prices are going up, but almost $17 for a Reuben?! I ordered a side salad and there was hardly anything on it. The Reuben was soggy and that ruined it for me. There was too much sauerkraut and it wasn't drained. Came to Burgaw for a meeting and I am glad I found this place. The food was great and had big portions. I would recommend the jalapeño poppers as they were amazing. The staff was also friendly which made me feel like I was home. I will definitely come back here if I am in town. read more

Wife had fried seafood combo, said it was excellent, Son had a child pepperoni pizza, thought he was gonna eat the plate! I had cod, fish and chips, very disappointed. Used to use different cod and it was best I ever had. This was some kind of cod roll, pre breaded. Way too much bread and mushy on inside. Asked if it was the fresh cod and was told it was but that was incorrect. Last 2 visits the fish and chips did not come close to what it used to be. That's a shame because I know how good it could be. Will have to think twice about going back. With the prices everything should be the best quality available. 4.99 add on for 4 scallops is kinda pricey as well. But they were excellent.
