We all really enjoyed our meals! We waited a while for a table as it was a busy Thursday night but we got a drink from the bar and sat outside to kill the time. They have tables inside and outside. Our waitress, Sara, was amazing! Several people in our group had the tuna steak with wasabi potatoes and really enjoyed that meal but honestly everything we had was good. We went for lunch on 7-9-26 . Cindy was our waitress and she was friendly. The food was delicious and felt as though it was made just for us. We had the French fry appetizer, chicken sandwich a kicking chicken sandwich and a splash cheeseburger and our sides were pasta, salad, and sautéed broccoli. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There is an inside dining room too but why use that when its so much nicer outside?[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The food was good, not great, and like most tourist areas a bit over priced for the quality. I'm not saying it wan't good because everything we tried we liked. Only it was nothing to get too excited about for the higher prices. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Honestly you're paying for the view and the nice outdoor seating.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Note: The closer parking lots are for condo/hotel guests only and they will tow you away. If you're just coming to the restaurant you must park across the street. When we went there was plenty of of available parking but it was a very hot day in the high 90s and high humidity so by the time I parked and walked over I was already sweaty and uncomfortable. On a normal day it would be no big deal for me, but if your with people who cannot climb a steep driveway or do a long walk then I would drop them off at the front door and then go park. read more

This was our favorite place we ate during our recent Topsail visit. My son had the crab cakes and key lime pie, I had shrimp tacos and some cocktail + beer specials. We loved all of the food, very fresh and filling portions. Outdoor seating was very nice, beautiful view, great service and many tables available during lunch. Prices were reasonable for the area. Good to know is the free parking is available across the street from the Villa Capriani condo that the restaurant is in and restaurant is right when you enter front doors. read more

We had such a wonderful experience at Splash by the Sea! The food was excellent from start to finish. We started with the crab dip and the braised short rib on mango and corn chutney, and both were absolutely amazing--full of flavor and beautifully presented. For drinks, we tried their canned pineapple cider, which was refreshing and paired perfectly with the meal. For the main course, we went with the Splash Burger, and it did not disappoint--juicy, flavorful, and cooked just right. Be prepared to wait but it's well worth it. From the drinks to appetizers to the main course. We started with some fantastic cocktails, a mojito and pier punch. Both were excellent. For the appetizers, we had the charcuterie plate and Emma's loaded fries, again, both were excellent. The fries are waffles fries and they were crispy and topped with cheese and bacon crumble. The charcuterie plate was a nice mix up and the red pepper hummus was something I would bottle up. For entrees we had the Salmon, Filet, Crab Cake and Grilled Shrimp Plate. All 4 were flavorful. We came here after coming into town for a wedding. We'd been driving for hours so we needed a drink and some good food. Driving up, we weren't sure if we were in the right location. It doesn't say "Splash by the Sea" anywhere. It's a hotel. Parking is across the street. We put our names on the list and went to the bar for the drink. The bartenders were efficient as they wanted to know the name on the list after taking our order so they can make sure we're seated on time. He was so busy but when he stopped by our table, it felt like he had all the time in the world. He was very attentive and didn't seem stressed at all. We ordered the crab cakes and the wicked tuna dish. Both were delicious! The wicked tartar sauce was mostly mayo, that's my only complaint. There wasn't much flavor there. These tuna taco are awesome. I've never had a tuna taco with so much tuna in it. I think between 3 soft shells they used an entire tuna steak. The cook was from NOLA so we got the gumbo and it was delicious. Went here a second time and got the chicken sandwich. Holy sheet(I work in paper) was that good. The chicken sandwich was cooked perfectly. You know how normally if they bread chicken they dry it out? Not here. The chicken was perfectly succulent. Talked to the bar tender and learned a lot about NC liquor laws. Sounds like you need a monopoly buster in here. *not the opinion of the bar. Absolutely loved our experience at Splash by the Sea! The staff was warm and welcoming, and we enjoyed dining on the back patio with a gorgeous view of the pool and ocean. The Wicked Tuna with wasabi mashed potatoes was out of this world--my girlfriend and I wished we could eat it every day! My partner loved the garlic thin crust pizza, and our drinks (mojito, pier punch, and Boater Cream Ale) were all top-notch. We shared the skillet cookies for dessert and they were off the chain! Wow! Had the best time here on a Thursday evening. Parking is easy in the lot across the street. Our dental society was holding an event here and they had a nice separate room for us to use. The views overlook the ocean which is very nice. The waitress was very prompt at taking our order and the food came out very fast especially for a large group. My friend and I split the ahi tuna nachos and crab dip appetizers. We loved both of them! Both had great flavors and were pretty filling. When we got our check we were very pleasantly surprised that Thursday is half off apps so each appetizer was only $9! I was very excited! We got a table right away but with any beach town the restaurant filled quickly and had a large wait as we were leaving. Great variety of main courses, appetizers, and drinks covering seafood to traditional American fare. Everybody was impressed with the food and the prices were reasonable. Good sized dishes we all had leftovers. Only drawback was they ran out of tartar sauce and did not tell us until our food came out. That would have impacted some of our ordering. We went on the last day of our 1 week vacation. Houses here typically rent from Sat to Sat so it was CROWDED. We had trouble getting a reservation at any restaurant in the area, would recommend calling waaay in advance if you are like us with a big family leaving on a Sat. All that said, Splash went above and beyond. Not only did they find a spot for us on a super crowded night, they supplied us with lots of drinks and appetizers while we waited. Food was delicious and there was something for everyone, kids to grandma. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We really enjoyed eating appetizers out on the patio on a very hot night in July, but were grateful to get into air conditioning for the meal later that evening.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] My only suggestion is that they need more wait staff and/or more efficient use of tables, we saw several large tables left open for at least an hour; they could easily have sat us at any one of those or put some tables together to get us seated. My salad came before we had anything to drink. The rest of our food came out quickly. Our son devoured his filet mignon with mashed potatoes, and broccoli. My family and I enjoyed this restaurant twice while on vacation. Both visits were enjoyable. The service is excellent. Everyone was very kind, helpful, and welcoming. The food was great both times. They had an entire menu dedicated for gluten free items. They have a separate cooking area for the gluten free items. We definitely recommend this restaurant 10/10. $125 for the "market price" steam pot. It's 2 lbs of frozen crab legs and frozen shrimp with almost zero seasoning. I'd happily pay $125 for a legitimate crab boil. But this tasted and looked like they thawed everything out in a microwave and put it in a pot then put it on the table. Loved the airy patio right on the water! This was quite the experience and now a must go whenever i visit! I am a BIG pasta salad FAN and it's rare that a restaurant can do it right but this one was so pleasing! We also went with sangrias (which were PERFECT) and a steam pot which was pricey but worth it!
