I have had such a positive experience working with Michelle's Cleaners and could not recommend them…read moremore. I have a small business selling vintage and preloved bridal dresses so I was very careful in selecting a dry cleaning business that would provide the level of service and care that I needed. Michelle herself has been so kind and knowledgeable, making sure that all my wedding dresses (many are delicate) are well taken care of. I look forward to many more years of working with Michelle and her team!

I had an extremely disappointing experience with Michelle's Cleaners…read more I was staying at a hotel after traveling internationally for nearly two weeks and sent several items of clothing to Michelle's Cleaners specifically so I would have clean clothes to wear on my flight home. When my pants were returned, the drawstring had been completely shredded and the surrounding fabric was damaged. I have photos documenting the condition of the pants when they were returned to me. What made the situation even more disappointing was how the company handled the damage. My initial response from the cleaner was to suggest that the pants never had a drawstring in the first place. When I spoke with the owner, rather than working with me to resolve the issue, she repeatedly interrupted me and would not allow me to fully explain the situation. She insisted that the hotel should reimburse me and told me that I needed to leave the damaged pants at the hotel's front desk. There were several problems with that solution. First, any credit to my hotel bill would go directly to my company, so that would not reimburse me personally for the ruined pants. My goal was simply to be reimbursed so I could replace an item that was damaged while in their care. Second, the hotel was not responsible for the damage caused while my clothing was being cleaned. And third, I was traveling home after being away for two weeks and did not have another clean outfit available to wear home. I tried to explain this, but the owner continued interrupting me rather than allowing me to finish. Mistakes can happen in any business. What matters is how a company handles them. Unfortunately, in this case, I felt that Michelle's Cleaners was more interested in avoiding responsibility than resolving the problem fairly. Based on both the damage to my clothing and the way the situation was handled, I cannot recommend this business.

My dress was very loose, and I needed significant alterations--but she made it fit flawlessly. It honestly feels like the dress was custom-made just for me. Every interaction with her, both over text and in person, was such a positive experience. I really appreciated how she offered thoughtful suggestions while still making sure my preferences came first. She made the whole process feel easy and collaborative. If you need alterations for your big day, you can trust Foroogh completely--she will exceed your expectations. Thank you so much, Foroogh!

She worked so hard to make it fit right but when she gave me the quote, I had to be honest and say it wasn't worth it to me because I was only wearing it for half an hour. She didn't get mad, but instead she worked with me to figure out what we could do instead to make it within my budget. After showing me her expertise in knowing what to do to still make it look good, I knew I could trust her with my wedding dress. Things I never considered, she knew and could advise. For example, I honestly thought my wedding dress was good enough, but after her comment about the hip area for my red dress, I knew I just had to have her look at the white dress as well. I didn't even wait for her to finish the red dress before I came back with the white one, but she worked fast! She actually finished it early. She even took the time to help me extra secure the clasps for both dresses. Can't express how much I appreciate her!!! In the pictures below, you can see how my red dress went from poor fit/low quality to wowza!

I meant to post this the first time I went, but absolutely have to now!…read more The first time I went I hadn't been to a tailor since I was a kid and was a bit nervous about what to expect as I don't think I always know what "well-tailored" looks like and I'm not the most fashionably knowledgable person to say the least. I was immediately greeted by Ali who treated me kindly, professionally, and guided me through the process with the immense range of clothes I brought from pea coats to jeans to suede jackets. Everything he did was fantastic and looks like it was hand-crafted for me. All prices were more than reasonable and I got all sorts of new things to wear. I should have posted a review then but I absolutely had to after my latest. On Tuesday, I tried on a dress I was intending to wear at a wedding that I leave for on Thursday and noticed to my dismay it did not fit how I wanted and was too low-cut. I immediately ran over in a complete panic to see if it was even possible to fix in... one day. It's a silk/satin fabric with a unique cut so I wasn't optimistic. Ali took it in stride and finished it IN ONE NIGHT. He did an incredible job, was super respectful and considerate when trying to figure out what adjustments to make, and I'm so grateful! Any time I ever have tailoring, I know who to go to and can't recommend him enough. THANK YOU!!!

I went to Best Alterations at the recommendation of two friends. They had some simple tailoring…read moredone and were happy. Regretfully, I did not have the same experience. I needed my MOG gown tailored. This amounted to hemming, taking up the straps a bit and placing cups. The dress is a base later of satin with an overlay of lace. So, two layers of fabric that needed to slide over each other in order to move properly. I left the dress with a FOUR WEEK window for completion. On the last day - the 'due date' - I called just to confirm. The owner was not in and the person who answered 'could not find the gown'. Called a few hours later and the owner said 'yes, it's here. No not ready since it is not end of business'!!!...It had been 4 weeks. Went the following day. Okay, the hem was good. But that was all the good that I could find. The straps were way to short..and the cups were place in a way no human anatomy would conform. I was told to wait while it was fixed. The straps were let down. And the cups were still a mess. The 'arc' of the cups didn't align with either me or the dress. It puckered badly. And the small modesty triangle bunged and pouched out. I paid and left because I was afraid it would only get worse. Went to another person who very kindly didn't want to say anything..but eventually did. The cups were sewn into place thru the fabric..hence the bunching. They needed to be placed next to the body - and thus connected to the satin layer - letting the lace move. Also, the straps had been botched. In stead of shortening in such a way that the original shape (a bit of a curve) was kept - they were simply yanked up..and luckily enough fabric was left to let them down..but not as nicely as it could have been. As for the modesty shield...the layers were all sewn together in several different areas - making the little fabric triangle more like a solid shield. The current tailor is undoing this, making the triangle able to conform and 'give' to the dress. This was clearly a hurried job. It was left to sit for a month. Then a sloppy attempt was made to fit the bodice. Very disappointing.
