The receptionist once cited her own made up "11th Commandment," to justify not allowing me to pick up my own child. The school now claims I am my son's grandpa for some reason. I found errors in this year's student/parent handbook then I looked at last years and found the same errors so they're obviously copying and pasting each year and not checking anything. They excluded me from being an emergency contact and when I finally got access to the medical records they have on file for my son I found critical errors regarding his most serious allergic reaction. To fix the error all that was needed was to change 1 word on a 1 page document. It's been 4 months since I brought their error to their attention and have yet to receive confirmation that they fixed it and just today after finding out they refer to me as my son's grandfather my son's teacher dm's me telling me wtf she doesn't appreciate. This is a religious school and in the handbook the first mention of "God," is literally a disclosure that informs you that you won't get your tuition money back if an act of "God" shuts down the school. I think the Devil might be the Principal.

We have always felt the teachers and administration are willing to work with us to create a strong and well rounded educational experience. It is also so fun to see all the different age girls interacting since there are girls from pre-k 3 through 12th grade on the campus. The girls often get a chance to feel like a leader. Also we are not catholic and have never felt out of place as a family here. Highly recommend!

attended Duchesne Academy of the Sacred Heart from Pre-K through 5th grade, and I can honestly say…read moreit was one of the most damaging and traumatic experiences of my life. The school constantly preached, "We are a family," but that couldn't have been farther from the truth. It felt more like being trapped in a prison where no one cared about you--especially if you didn't fit their idea of the "perfect" student. I have a learning disability, and instead of offering support, the school made me feel like I was a burden. The teachers completely ignored my struggles and acted as if my needs were too much for them to handle. They couldn't be bothered to help me succeed and made it clear that if you weren't one of their "ideal" students, you didn't matter. The bullying was relentless, and it was allowed to thrive. I was made fun of constantly, and the teachers never intervened. They didn't care. I went to them for help, and their response was always the same: dismissive and uninterested. It was like I didn't exist unless I was falling in line with their expectations. They let the bullying continue, creating an environment that was toxic, unsafe, and emotionally damaging. Instead of being a family, this school felt like a place where kids were pitted against each other, and the weak were left to fend for themselves. I was held back because of this school. Instead of providing me with the help I needed to succeed, they let me fall behind and made me feel like I wasn't good enough. The lack of support and care destroyed my confidence and left me feeling worthless. They didn't help me overcome my challenges; they just made them worse. I had to repeat a grade because of their failure to provide any meaningful support or accommodations for my learning disability. I should have been given the resources to succeed, but they chose to push me aside and let me fail. And the tuition--don't even get me started. We paid an absurd amount of money for this so-called education, but all we got in return was a toxic, neglectful environment. The money went into the pockets of the administration, while the students received no extra help, no special accommodations, and no real education. It felt like we were just another dollar sign to them, nothing more. They were more interested in maintaining their "prestige" than actually helping the students who needed it the most. In the end, I left Duchesne feeling completely broken and defeated. The school didn't just fail me academically--it ruined my sense of self-worth. I was left emotionally scarred, and I had to fight to rebuild my confidence. It wasn't a place that nurtured growth, learning, or self-esteem. It was a place where kids were ignored, bullied, and made to feel like they weren't good enough. I wouldn't wish this school on my worst enemy. If your child has a learning disability, or if they don't fit into the mold of the "perfect" student, don't send them here. Duchesne Academy of the Sacred Heart will not help them thrive. It will break them. This school doesn't care about the students--it only cares about money and its own image. It's a toxic, harmful place that promises a family but delivers nothing but pain, neglect, and failure.

Its outdoor education program is amazing. Students are given opportunities to explore, take risks, and develop confidence beyond the classroom. Fay is intentional about shaping well-rounded individuals, not just strong students. They teach emotional intelligence which is invaluable. Beyond academics, the sense of community is truly special. From the moment you join, you feel like part of a family. You are supported, valued, and connected. The school also has a unique way of "doing everything big," whether it's events, programs, or celebrations, creating a vibrant and enriching experience for both students and parents. In…read moreprevious yearly cycles, the academy has been far more pleasant, yet as of recent times, I have found strong displeasure with the state of the institution with the price only going up yet seeing virtually no difference in anything save meaningless policies that have not a single net benefit of note. I find the principal of the upper school to be quite an insufferable individual, often refusing to deal with situations considered of an important scale especially on topics such as blatant bullying and exceptionally problematic behavioral issues, however many of the teachers are indeed wonderful people. On a positive note however, the school does have a wonderful multicultural aspect that allows for a child to gain a more whole and worldly perspective, though you must ask yourself before sending your child here: is being in a multicultural school worth their mental health? the answer should be no, so this school is in fact a great school, BUT only up until the high school, where I would consider sending my child elsewhere.

Academically, there's a strong focus on **memorization**, but in some subjects we also do **projects**, which adds some variety. We usually take **five classes**, so when exams come around it feels **more manageable** to plan your studying, since you're balancing fewer subjects at the same time. Even though the school is small, the **6th period (electives)** has a nice range of options, including creative classes and sports like **martial arts** or **pickleball**. One thing I would improve is **Spanish**: if you already speak it, the class can end up being mostly **tests**, and you don't always get the chance to work on material that actually helps you improve.

The educational program lacked rigor and failed to provide the level of academic challenge and support that students deserve. I was particularly concerned by what appeared to be a greater focus on financial gain than on student development and educational excellence. Rather than fostering a positive learning environment centered on student success, many decisions seemed driven by business interests. Communication was often lacking, and concerns raised by families were not addressed in a meaningful way. The overall atmosphere did not reflect the professionalism, integrity, or commitment to education that the school publicly advertises. Based on my experience, I would encourage prospective families to thoroughly research the school, ask detailed questions about academic expectations, and speak with current and former families before making a decision.
