The faculty is excellent; the teachers are willing to help in any way they can to make sure you're receiving a quality education. Additionally, the school emphasizes community service (during the summer before my senior year, the requirement for service hours was a minimum of 100 hours) and spiritual life (the opportunity to attend a large retreat every year with all of your classmates). Through the community service and retreats, I really grew as a person, as I tried to follow Strake's motto, "Men for Others." There are excellent opportunities to be involved at school, such as athletics, theatre, SJET (a closed-circuit television system), student organizations, choir, orchestra, yearbook, and several others. Also, I was able to take Latin for several semesters, a language class that is not available at most schools. The administration at the school is very accessible, and the counselors are very helpful. I never felt lost when dealing with impending college decisions, and I am grateful for the guidance provided throughout this process. I am very appreciative of my parents for sending me to a great school, and in the future, I will definitely send my kids here.

Their Scottish Arts program is unbelievable to see and I am constantly amazed at the artistic abilities of the students who have been encouraged over the years by the school. My daughter, who deals with sensory issues that affect her learning, has always been treated with the utmost respect and has been encouraged to embrace new ideas while being challenged by proven methods of teaching that instill an understanding of the world around her while teaching her to effectively communicate those ideas. I am not an alumni and I was only aware of the school through long time friends. But, having faced the challenges of the current public school system with our oldest child, my wife and I came to believe that a private school was our only acceptable option for our youngest child (and any future children). We explored several private schools in Houston and decided on St. Thomas' based on a tour of the school and talking with faculty and others who knew of or had experienced the school. Also, I believe that the tuition is quite reasonable compared with other private schools in Houston that we considered. We intend to keep our 8 year old at St. Thomas' through 12th grade and we plan to send our 3 year old there as well when she reaches school age. I would also encourage any parents considering a private school education to meet with Mr. Cusack and the faculty and see it for yourself. I believe that you will like what you see.

There are several award-winning teachers here and it shows. Quality education, family-like environment and the tuition is extremely reasonable for a private school. While they may not have the fanciest things and facilities, when I see my child's development and love for going to school, I feel reassured that I've made the right decision by sending him here. I've gotten involved with the parent community, which at first was a bit daunting but it's been a great experience getting to know them and I look forward to journeying together with them as our children all grow up here.

They have nothing set in place to have any control over the situation and only have a part-time counselor so if it's her day off and there's an issue to be addressed, good luck. Again to be fair there is a handful of good hearted teachers that work hard and care about the students but the leadership. I feel well little by little deteriorate, the quality of the school. Just speaking from the heart and God willing things will change for future generations once this leadership team is no longer there.

Met with the Principle, Administrator, school nurse, Speech Therapist, Special Ed teacher, Diagnostician, PALS teacher for our Pre-K child with special needs. Principle came and shook our hands and staff made us feel very welcome. He made us aware if we are not happy with anything to please let him know. He sounded like he takes his job seriously and has pride for his school. They had a round table discussion of my child's conditions. They were on point with objectives and goals for my child. We set goals together and set an agenda to meet again to reevaluated her needs to make sure they are meeting these goals or set new ones if condition changes. They even try to accommodate her dietary needs. They gave us daily class routines. Where to drop her off and pick up. So very organized. Will give an updated review once she starts school after Spring Break.
