HOLY MOLY this place is amazing!! I am in escrow and Spectrum sent me to collections for a $250 charge for not returning equipment. I paid the charge as soon as I realized what it was and they still sent me to collections and wouldn't remove it from my credit report. Because of this my mortgage was going to go up $200/mo for at least 7 years when this would fall off my credit report and I could refi. Edit-- they just called me about this review. It's staying up because nothing I'm saying below is untrue. To those looking for help, I'm also working with a mortgage advisor and one of the first things he did (after running my credit for FREE) was tell me to lower my CC bill for an easy credit win. Sure there were other things he couldn't help with too, but this tip alone will impact my score a ton and potentially translate to a better mortgage down the line. 2nd Chance didn't mention a word of this to me, they literally just said to reach back out in a couple months to try again. Again, totally fine for them to work that way, but that's not what suits my needs. They didn't ask what I'm looking to accomplish (buying a home) or explain how each item impacts my score (like does one thing impact the score more than the others?? What should be the focus??) or tell me if there was anything that I could do outside of disputes or explain how they themselves would work differently to be successful where I wasn't when it comes to disputes. They get two stars instead of one for not pushing me to keep buying services I don't need. That was nice of them. Called to see if they could help me. Asked for 20 bucks to run credit and see what my situation is. Didn't ask for further detail about what I already knew, just wanted to run the report. They run it, but can't help because I submitted disputes too recently -- I'd love for this business to consider adding DOs and DONTs to their website so this doesn't happen. Now I will have to follow up with them in a couple months??? Why didn't they tell me this before I paid for a credit report to be pulled? I knew exactly what the pain points on that report were (and told Laura point blank about them) and they insisted they needed to run my credit. Laura was hard to get a hold of. I had to be very proactive about following up to see what potential next steps were. The last I talked to Laura, she explained they couldn't help me for a couple months because of the recent disputes. Weird part was her talking to someone else on her end to ask what she should be telling me about this situation. If Laura doesn't know, that's fine, but I'd love to talk directly to the person who does! The person she was literally consulting while on the phone with me. I also don't get the sense they will follow up with me. I had to pursue them throughout this process. I'm sure for some folk this is a fine business to work with, but frankly I don't see myself following up with them in a couple months and will likely go somewhere else. I'm really worried about the quality of information and service I received so far and with credit, I want to know the people helping are being responsible with the info given. read more

I have really struggled with writing this review because I've really tried to give this place the benefit of the doubt. I start the credit repair service shortly before the pandemic. I originally spoke to Karen, she was nice and made me feel confident that this service was a good fit for me. Once everything got started I was told Karen was in a different department and Wayne would be handling my case. The first two months I received credit reports and after that they stopped. I would have to email Karen to follow up and then she would relay the message and magically I'd get reports shortly after (leads me to believe my case wasn't being monitored as I was told). Things got real weird and shady when I received a report in a last name that was not mine. Again I reached out, called the office numerous time for updates in writing and received no response. I finally was able to speak to Wayne who gave a good ol salesman pitch and stated that progress was made and blah blah, he offered me 3 additional months of service charge fee due to my dissatisfaction, stated he would call me the next business day and provide me with a detailed update of my account and over a month later I have nothing. Overall I am sadden that I didn't get the customer service I was told I would, no real updates on where my credit stands, and a feeling that I may have wasted a bunch of money in nothing. I wouldn't recommend their credit repair service to anyone. I only gave two stars because Karen was as responsive as she could be to my outreaches for a while, but she was in another department so I really didn't get much of the needed information from her. read more

So, the ultimate outcome was very moderate success. What happens is they really don't have much ability to make changes. Once a credit report is challenged and the credit company confirms their original report, the agency just continues to file the same challenge over and over, and the agency reporting the delinquency continues to confirm, on and on. Save your money and do your own challenges via the credit reporting agency and call the creditors yourself. If a report is wrong you can win, but if you were in fact delinquent you'll likely have to live with it until it comes off your report - typically after seven years or so. It's a very long sentence but the system is rigged against us. If you only have one or two marks against you though, after a couple of years of solid on time payments the bad stuff counts less and less. BTW - check out Ali Zane instead of this outfit. He charges NOTHING unless he gets results for you. Wish I had found him first. read more

I was referred by a friend to Karen Molina , after having a conversation with a friend about my credit...(.it's not something u really want to bring up). Glad I did.! He recommended me to second chance, a I called & spoke to Karen. I have never experienced such great customer service. I started with a 450 credit and now I'm at a 790. Ofcourse this all takes time. Her team was on it! Every month I would get my credit report and it will be less pages everytime. I ha e recommended a few friends and family members. I would give Wayne a million stars if I could. I contacted Second Chance to see if they could negotiate a medical bill for my mother. She is a stage 4 cancer patient from Taiwan in the immigration process to be with my brother and I. She is not insured and had an emergency surgery a week and a half ago. The bill is now more than 200K. Wayne from Second Chance told me that negotiating medical charges at this stage is not really what they do at Second Chance.
