Hey, let's go out for coffee and a treat on a rainy day. Tired of the poor service at some other area spots, let's head to Second Cup and support Canadian. I understand that the drive thru has become a priority for most places now. But it is pretty pathetic that the next walk-in customer gets their order before ours is finished now too. Took my family of 5 there over the weekend. It was not seemingly busy but we ordered 5 drinks and 5 food items. Before long we drank our drinks before they got cold but had not received two of our food items. The drive thru continued to be priority and we had to prod staff so they remembered our food. Time to either get rid of sit down spaces or make them equal priority. Will make me question going there for more than a drink in future. Or, I'll hit the drive thru and then go sit in. read more

Went in for an iced americano, our barista didn't make fresh espresso but instead used some that had been sitting for god knows how long. My iced drink had one ice cube in it and tasted like watered down cold brew. Mostly just upset about the old espresso as I used to be a barista and know how shots get bitter if not used immediately. read more

Not my first visit here. But it is definitely what I come to expect from a Second Cup. I'm always unhappy to put up a three star, but let's be real. Three is average and there is nothing wrong with average. This most recent visit was an early morning Sunday, so there was very few people there. Lots of available tables and everyone was extra quiet. The cafe itself was very clean too, but I've never seen it disgustingly dirty. This place is good for that. The service was fine. No overly friendly. It was good and the reason I'd come back. The cinnamon buns are $3.10 a piece and worth it. They are quite big. They are topped with generous amounts of icing. If you want extra icing, stop. You don't need it. You're likely getting a sugar filled beverage too. I coupled mine with a caramel corretto. Though I'm filled with happiness, is basically the foreshadowing for an amazing afternoon sugar crash. I like this place because it is easy to access from 75th. read more

This is the absolute best Second Cup in Edmonton. I am a HUGE Second Cup Moccachino addict (ask my friends and family). I go to various locations in Edmonton (and occasionally Western Canada) on a regular basis, but this is always my favorite one to return to (like a second home for me). They actually know my name. Though this location is always packed, the customer service is unparalleled anywhere else in the city (or outside of the city , for that matter). If you like your specialty coffees and a friendly atmosphere, you'll love this Second Cup. This has been my go coffee spot close to home. Always little changes happening. Noticed that some of the comfy chairs have gone to give more table space and they have a person coming to teach painting. With that comes a drink and a treat I believe. Looks like fun. Have always found the staff really nice, some have been remarkable but its all new faces for me as I haven't been for some time. The atmosphere is chill enough to sit and relax awhile. Never crazy like the Starbucks up the road and they seem to have gone for really CLEAN syrups (I believe) - cutting out some of the "bad" sugars, oils and additives we don't really need that are empty fatty calories. Nice! Also offering very healthy smoothies. Worth popping in if you haven't visited in some time. Its getting close to time for a facelift for the walls color wise but still artwork, clean interior. I'm a stickler for curb appeal though. The big baskets outside are showing wear on their bases and the cushions for the outdoor furniture are outside uncovered, so the patio looks mumbo jumbo, but if you don't have storage what can ya do? Doesn't affect the yummy coffee (awesome RICH decaf latte!!) and I love the treats. Still carry a couple of my top quick snack favs from the Italian Center. Yippee! read more

This location has really gone downhill. The service is very unfriendly. I think the one guy is the owner or manager, he's there everytime I've been, and he doesn't even smile. As other reviewers have photographed the furniture is falling apart. Most of the chairs are ripped or broken. The bathroom is old and looks poorly maintained as well. As a franchise I'd be very surprised to hear Second Cup is happy with this location representing them. On my last visit I ordered a soy chai latte and it tasted like it usually does at other locations, so the drinks are as expected. read more

I've been coming to this second cup off and on for over 10 years now. I love second cup coffee and lattes. The staff here has always been very nice and friendly. There is lots of comfy seating and free wifi. This place is always bustling and it's obviously a great place for neighborhood friends. read more

This second cup is great just like many of their other locations. It probably has the most comfortable seating with lots of comfy chairs, compared to some other locations. It's fairly small and cozy, staff are friendly and really efficient with orders. I enjoy coming here as the location is great, lots of parking in a private lot, a drive thru and it's clean. Quick service, friendly happy staff. They really know how to make coffee and they clean the main part of the restaurant and bathrooms very well. They really need to clean the wires overhead and there is a big blast of dust on one of the windows near a vent. read more

The company seems to be taking a bad turn; lately I have noticed the following: 1) encouragement of improper cellphone etiquette (ie. never use a cell phone in a public area - take our private business to a private area). 2) restriction of newspaper choice (I now have to buy and bring my Edm Journal to read rather than pick one up - I leave it behind for others to read and if the Edm Sun does not like it, they can stick it.) 3) removal of what were otherwise popular snack items (e.g. - no idea why the fruit Danish items were taken off since they were always in short supply due to their popularity) 4) greater difficulty in finding a seat due to the 'lingerers'; these are people who bring in their laptop, but one coffee then occupy a seat for what I gather will be several hours. read more

This second cup is by far the best managed and most effective at tending to customers satisfaction I've seen yet. The espresso machine was temporarily down for a few minutes so in return the young lady taking my order upgraded my latte one size bigger for no additional cost. Although that may seem small it sure is a nice gesture. I highly recommend coming to this cozy little nook just off 75th street. read more

went to Second Cup for a bagel and caramel ice frappe and i got a bagel with mold all over and the frappe didn't have any caramel flavor at all. Lost my appetite completely. read more
